  • That's Thomas Levin. He's on the faculty in the German department at Princeton. He's a specialist in cultural theory, among other things.

  • does anyone know who's the guy at slavoj's right?

  • @AndyKalpinsky I think that's Cornell West--on the faculty of Princeton.

  • @JunkSickProject thanks. what about the other guy? any ideas?

  • Zizek`s argument against Rawls could be called a strawman. He interprets Rawls theorie the wrong way, only to show that its conclusion is inacceptable. Rawls did mention how to deal with protests and how they could be solved in a well ordered society.

Therefore this doesn't weaken Zizek's main argument of justified inequality. The kind of capitalism our lives depent on, may be wrong. This is because of our false view of freedom and comsumerism - wich is planted in our minds.

  • Zizek's treatment of Rawls is absolutely spot on. The notion of justified inequality is just offensive to anyone not indocrinated in a capitalistic system of value.

  • Shake - That's offensive - I have a good mind to delete your message. But I will not do so this time.

  • Zizek pwns all you symbolically mystified n00bs
