  • its too bad they brushed over Sonic's dark days in the early mid 2000's. whoever was in charge of Sonic games ran the character into the ground. I'm so glad Sonic's back from the hell Sega put him through. its funny though, people on forums, and in comment sections still talk about Sonic's new games like they suck when they're actually some of the best games ever made. I'm also a HUGE Mario fan, but I had WAY more fun with Generations than I did with Galaxy 1, 2 and NSMB Wii and DS.

  • Um... Sonic adventure was not his first transition to 3D... Sorry to say this... But it was Sonic R or Sonic Jam for the sega saturn (those games were crap, that's why they didn't mention them).

  • You guys skipped a few eras. Like the era between Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Colors.

You know, the non-critically acclaimed titles.

  • mario made 10 accounts and disliked this, because he was so jealous of sonic

  • You were tasked to redesign him into that akward ugle shit in that US cover at 7:30. The comics and tv series were all pointless, and so were the US manuals, they corrupted the whole basic story like Mobius, Princess Sally, and now MONARCHY(Princess Sally, Queen Aleena).it preety much influenced Sega of Japan's concept and made some dumb characters like Big, or Princess Elise! After all that i think Japan does a way better job with story and title. Fuck Sega of America! GO SONIC!!!!!

  • I got started on Sonic last year. My friend showed me a Sonic X episode. I had always been into Mario, but I decided to try Sonic. I was immediately hooked. I've gotten more and more into Sonic, bought a bunch of Sonic video games and comic books, and I watch Sonic X all the time. I have Sonic stuffies, and plan on getting more. GO SONIC! :D

  • @SonicTheHedgehog342 Since your new, just to let ya know, if u like it's story, whatever you do dont trust the comics, tv shows, and US manuals, they will mislead you, like they did to me. It took me 10 years to realize his story was with the games and nothing else.

  • You go Sonic!

Make more cool games, ant let your friends

    be playable more often!

  • "I treated Sonic like it was a film instead of like a game."

If only they did that with Star ocean till the end of time!

  • 18:20 lol

  • that long buffering I wait to watch this........ was worthed

  • I want to cry... Tears of joy and nostalgic happiness. Good times.

  • "Loyal fanbase."

    Like fuck they are.

  • The only Sonic The Hedgehog game I have played that I did not enjoy is "Sonic The Hedgehog 2006." That game is not the best Sonic Game. Who agrees?

  • I don't care what anybody says, Sonic will and always be a huge part of my life. I loved all his games to death, and I enjoyed them all as a child. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, they're all permanent images in my mind. He is a icon and a very famous video game character, people love him and he is almost as recognizable as Mario. I love Sonic and may Colors and Generation be the rise of Sonic!

  • My favourite game is a sonic game! Sonic Adventure DX! I love SA1, SA2, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Colours... But all the other games are so bad.... A shame!

Generations however made it all up to me again <3 all red star rings and S-ranks can't wait for the next game

  • @DaBase333 what about Sonic Unleashed? DX

  • @TheInvadingKittens nope :)

  • @DaBase333 why u no like it? :C

  • 18:21

  • HE SAID SMARTASS!!!!!!! 18:25

  • @jpetersonsnake Sorry i meant 18:21

  • anyone else see sonic "rise of the return" fanime? makes me wish they would make a new sonic cartoon

  • @DapOrDieNigg Agreed. We need a new Sonic cartoon! Rise of the return is pretty cool, I just wish it was voiced

  • Ah, Sonic. Over the last twenty years, you've been through plenty of ups and downs, but through it all, you've never stopped running. And that's the part I love the most about you.

  • D: when i saw Jun S. there i though that Jhonny Gioeli would be there too T_T

  • Sonic has been rolling around at the speed of sound for 20 years now and hes still going strong. Much <3 Sonic much <3.

  • This DEFINITELY should've been featured in Sonic Generations!! :/

  • @TMEthan Yeah, unlock able interviews and things like this woulda been epic.

  • Homer: I don't know whenever to punch you or kiss you. So I'm gonna do both! *punches then kisses* LOL!!! XD

  • TONY HOG BABY!!!

  • Thumbs if you love the Sonic Generations "Tony Hog" Edition!!

  • @LosoGoso what do you mean by "tony hog edition"?

  • @SegaChris5 I guess cause of the "Tony Hawk" skating gameplay in City Escape i presume

  • Nostalgia, we meet again...

  • I honestly liked sonic's size in adventure the best. everything seemed more in proportion. where as the new model is a GIANT head on s little body. I'm not being a typlical sonic fan bashing the character, I;m saying through an artist's point of view eventhough he's a cartoon I feel like he should've at least still have proper body proportions. ^.^ plus he still looked cute back then

  • @XxAngiexXRPI I'd prefer if his in game and CG model was akin to the box art of Sonic Adventure, in a 3D fashion. He looked extremely cool there, and still had a sense of his "Classic" incarnation, with a modern twist.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 yeah I loved him on the box art. or the way sonic looked during the intro to adventure :3

  • wow i was born i think at the best possible time! i had all the best snes and sega games sonic adventure came out when i was almost 4 and its all i played forever the dream cast was an awesome system! i honostly think sonic wil never end each one gets better and better theres only a couple i havent played but love every one.. this definantly gave mario good competition

  • 26:08 "Also, it was the first time Sonic had a voice and we could understand his emotions and purpose for fighting against his enemies."

    And the decline begins!

  • @evenmorebetter How was giving him a voice the cause of the decline? Whats wrong with him having a voice?

  • @evenmorebetter Ryan Drummond was awesome. As was SA1.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 watch?v=h79QNucv-eE

I started playing SA1(DX) for the first time ever earlier this year. It's fun enough, I guess, but it's just really badly glitchy, there are too many parts that bring the flow of the game to a complete halt (the city/ruins map hub, the fishing, anything regarding a Chao), and the gameplay physics just aren't as fun as the Genesis games (compare the casino level to Sonic 2's, for example). I got just about near the end and lost interest.

  • @evenmorebetter Tbh, SA1 was and "adventure". And it belonged to the adventure genre, so thinking it's just like the Megadrive ones was kinda your fault. But I personally loved Station Square. The people there always have some new story, or problem that's going on, and their are a bunch of Missions to help them out with. Never get's old. The fishing......yeah, Big should have never been invented. I loved the Megadrive games as well. S3&K is my favourite game ever. But....

  • @evenmorebetter ...tbh, I felt like I was just playing as carbon copies of the other characters, but with certain different abilities, that kinda made the main character the blandest one at times. I love SA1 because, literally everything is different for each character, or twisted in some way. And if you look at the game in general, it really shows what "Classic Sonic" gameplay is like in 3D. The levels gave me a huge Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles vibe.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Yeah, I mean, as far as the 3D games are concerned, SA1 was probably as close to a 3D Sonic 3 & Knuckles (but yes, with an adventure element) as we're ever going to get, and it's certainly far from the nadir of the series, but I just even enjoy Knuckles Chaotix more than I do any of the pre-Colors 3D games.

We may agree to disagree on SA1, but this:

"S3&K is my favourite game ever."

    Broseph, you're all right.

  • @evenmorebetter Thanks. I really loved how open the game was.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 FWIW I don't know what everybody saw in Ryan Drummond's voice acting. It's only *less bad* than whoever the guy was that played Sonic after him. I grew up with Urkel as the voice of Sonic -- I think the character had more charm that way. New Sonic just sounds like some generic mook twentysomething.

  • "He wasn't soft of nice in his personality, he had a smart ass-ness." Lol!

  • @legogamer98 lol indeed I feel like ever since adventure 1 and 2 sonic sonic's smartass ness had declined, he didn't seem as hyper or impaitent. but finally made a comeback with the writters of sonic colors and generations

  • I like how they consistently use the Metal Harbor music (My fav) in this video.

I like how after all the good things said about Sonic's career, they still don't show any "06: The Disaster" footage.

I'm am totally liking this video. :)

  • @Treyworld Why would they show any footage of it? Fans and "fans" seem to talk about it anyway so there's no reason for Sega to remind anyone. Talking about 06 is just a stupid fad anyways, no offense. I like this video too, I like hearing things from Kalinske, Oshima, Nakamura and Naka themselves.

  • thumbs up if you came here from PeteDorr :D

  • @Black00Panther hell yeah!

  • so epic love ittttt

  • I wish I had the ability to compose music just from an image like Nakamura-san =D

  • My nephew is also a big fan of sonic ever since I showed him Sonic Unleashed

when he was 2 or 3 years old. Hes 5 now and still likes sonic he even had a

sonic themed birthday party,he also has Sonic Colors.

  • Nice documentary and all, but Sonic has died altogether with SEGA since Sonic 2006 and their attempt to throw gimmick after gimmick on the poor ol' Sonic. And It's meant to get even worse, from the ages to come. Even a few members from Sonic team are accepting the "new" Sonic and pretending to use said "rapid fast-fun" gameplay on the future games of this franchise.

It was good while It lasted, SEGA. Too bad It's all about money now.

  • @GustavoMsTrashCan Died?

Sonic Colors and Generations scored a pretty good reviews in anywhere......

  • @GustavoMsTrashCan the unleashed formula is over now. they are making a new style of gameplay for sonic, also.. its not about money, from what i've seen.. 06' was to please the fans because sega listened to the fans about that one. but unleashed, was fantastic, and colors, and generations.. they stopped listing to the fans and are making it on their own ideas now, nothing has died. you just lost hope on sega.

  • They forgot about those Games that Dimps( ಠ_ಠ*Reaction) Made that put Sonic on a Race Track boosting to win with Physics that allowed you to walk up walls, and their early titles littered with nothing but too many Springs'N boost pads. And those god awful PSP games.

There was also that RPG BioWare made witch seemed almost as Trolling Sega.

Lets not also forger the Sonic games-ON RIALS- -SR-&-BK-

(I wanna play sonic, not the game play sonic >:T )

And I'm pretty sure we all know 06.

  • Why did they speed up the Metal Harbor music? D:

  • Sonic has lasted for 20 years. A great feat indeed.

May it last for another 20 and may its games keep getting better and better!

  • 16:16 - Until now all that I've seen or heard of Shinobu Toyoda was his name standing out in the credits of the games, yet I knew I loved this guy for some reason all these years. XD

It was nice to see faces such as Tokoi, Nakamura, Kalinske and Ohtani, but I agree with others that so much is missing, and this is more like "The birth and impact of Sonic" rather than a documentary covering 20 years. Not much of Sonic 3 & Knuckles onward, until Sonic Adventure, and then again until Sonic Colors.

  • No mention of the dark times the series went through in the mid 00s, or the steps towards Generations made with Unleashed. No mention of Unleashed's development at ALL, or how big a deal the Hedgehog Engine was, they don't even bring in Hashimoto for an interview.

This completely fails to realize Generations' true importance, because it doesn't give you the steps towards it or the stakes it's facing. They did a disservice to themselves and the game they made by glossing over that stuff.

  • @ViewtifulRekk What about the dark times in between S3&K and SA1? Nobody remembers that anymore?

  • Laaaaaame. No mention of Sonic X-Treme, Sonic R, Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Crackers, Sonic Pocket Adventure, the Master System & Game Gear games, the cameo in Rad Mobile, the Sonic arcade games, Sonic SatAM, Archie's and Fleetway's Sonic comics... this is not history, it's just an ad.

  • Look, it's not "Naka-san", it's "Mr. Naka" or drop the honorific entirely.

  • Greet video and very informative =D I literary laughed loud and clap my hands at 14:28 great move SEGA, well done XD

It's times like this I appreciate being a Sonic fan, and with Sonic 4, Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations hopefully things will get only better from here onwards!

  • You got that right! Sonic Adventure 2 music is the BEST!

  • Nice Video :)

  • Awesome video.

Congratulations Sonic, keep running and no one will stop you.

  • This was an awesome watch

  • Is it a coincidence that Toyoda(Executive VP, Sega of NA) sounded like Yoda(Star wars)?

  • So you say 75% of Sonic's history was Sonic 1 ? Assholes.

  • @kristallize

I will have a far superior history of sonic later this week hopefully

  • Watermarks on stolen videos are cool.

  • "seamlessly transitioned between platforms" err... Did some one forget '06?

  • Comment removed

  • @cursonarobot well... Sonic 06 was the transition from Dreamcast aura to Modern... it retained a bit of the Adventure Fields, yes the game turned out aweful you gotta give Sega AND Sonic Team credit for pulling themselves out of a rut and coming back clean and strong with Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations, i just wish they wouldn't change the gameplay style with the newest game which will be coming sometime in the future (or the rumours are that they are changing it up again)

  • Sonic 1 was the first game I ever played I think :)

    Either that or Terminator arcade

  • Stupid Colors, Generations and Unleshed they kill Sonic the hedgehog series

  • @mephilestheD

    >Colors

    >Generations

    >Kill

  • @mephilestheD you sir... there is something wrong with you... Colours, Generations and Unleashed help revive Sonic's fan base! Unleashed was great the only I didn't like was how many werehog stages there were in a row... Colours, while childish, short and easy had great gameplay and was really fun... now Generations... whooo boy! i love that game (however i feel it was rushed as there are so many glitches) my only regret about Generations is that i spoiled the game for myself before i got to try

  • @supermario932 Colors fans and Adventure fans just have very different mentality, we will never understand each other's opinions. The only way for us is to stop arguing, and for SEGA is to split Sonic games in two separate directions, releasing them like Adventure-Colors-Adventure-Colors. I think that's the compromise for everyone to be happy, not like now, when Adventure fans being in constant FrUUstation about last games.

  • @kristallize yea... i know what you mean... while i am a colours fan i also love the adventure games... each Sonic game has something wrong with it of course, but alot of them are great... people need to remember there are more GOOD Sonic Games than there are bad :) and if Sega dose go the way you mentioned than i'll be two times happy ^_^ yup... im not your average Sonic fan thats for sure... :P (example: i like to play 06 to see how halarious the glitches were)

  • @kristallize Imo, there shouldn't be any Colours fans or Adventure fans!!! Only like 85% are true Sonic fans now, because of Generations. Why can't we all just get along!?!?

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 What do you mean saying "Only like 85% are true Sonic fans now, because of Generations."?

  • @kristallize I mean, the main goal of the game, was to bring us all together to have a whole fanbase, but it didn't completely work.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Of course it didn't work, because Adventure fans were waiting SA3 for anniversary. Generations for them is like a spit in a face from Sega.

  • @kristallize It really is pathetic though, that after 10 years of waiting for something that was done over 3 times already, they STILL demand that the title of Sonic Adventure 3 should be in a future Sonic game. Tbh, EVERY Sonic game is an Adventure. A title doesn't make a difference, and it is true. Now, if a game is too be in an Adventure format, we have..... ugh 06, and we have Unleashed. Really, they were more of adventure games than SA2 ever was.....06 was bad, but still an adventure game!

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 I don't even know, what to say... It's about age and mentality, that's why we don't understand each other. For example, I don't agree with almost entire your comment. But if you want to try to understand our POV, I can give you link to a thread with literally walls of text about that.

  • @kristallize No, Generations pleased the majority of the fans.

The only ones that are not pleased are the minority that thinks every Sonic game after Dreamcast will suck no metter what.

With those, Sega is fighting a lost fight, they can't be pleased in any way.

  • @mephilestheD it didint kill the series lol. you just think that.

  • @jakeman1245 the sonic games after 2006 become more stupid

  • @mephilestheD It's your opinion

  • @isorSOT I know it. I just want to say what early Sonics games was be more fun and interesting.

Sonic's universe very big and interesting. The story of Knuckles Clan and Nocturnus Clan, Project Shadow, genocide, black arms, the end of the world THIS stories more interesting then story about "Eggman - Time Eater" or "amusement Park for Wisp".

And now what? Sonic Re-Colors aka Sonic Dimensions? You kidding?

Sonic long since ceased to be for "child", and now after 2006, he became degraded.

  • @mephilestheD emm, Sonic Dimensions is a fan-game, not official one, don't you knew it?

  • @isorSOT Well, let's say. But this is not the exchange of role.

  • Has flat jokes and unnecessary actions which do not for Sonic face, they converted him into a clown.

And for finale we have franchise. For what this?

See that it wasn't the last franchise for a hedgehog, or else he don't be celebrate his 30th.

  • 34:41, I totally agree! So many IPs that were created and then just never continued...

  • Like the loops and slopes that define them, Sonic games have definitely had their triumphant highs and abysmal lows, both of which this video alone sparsely covers. Even still, the spirit of the franchise continues to race forward, like the Blue Blue himself, on the ever-changing terrain of modern video gaming.

It's surreal seeing how much this series has grown and evolved from childhood, and I can only hope for the best as it blazes into the future.

  • Whoa!

Sonic the Hedgehog was really Sonic The Underdog!

    Incredible success story!

  • @survivorproject

    Really?

I've read on Wikipedia sonic was called, "Project Needlemouse from the beginning.

  • @CrnSal Sonic 4 was called project needlemouse

  • @TheSiinisteR

    I didn't know that =D

  • I notice a lack of footage of Sonic 2006. GOOD!! Also no 8-bit ones where represented

  • @Darkprinny well the 8-bit titles weren't part of the main series of games so they weren't worth talking about, but at least give those games some credit, they proved that Sonic can be playable in 8-bit, not only that but those games were part of what sold the Game Gear, yea the Game Gear didn't sell that well but there were at least Sonic games on it that lured some people to it

  • @theshredder39 Yeah they did, why do you think they started putting Sonic in every Master system and not Mr Kid. Anyway the 8-bit Sonics where damn good. Ok speed wise they could not be Mega drive fast so they compromised & came up with more platforming and they where a damn sight harder than the Mega drive ones. the Game gear sold about 11 million to me thats bloody good. they might not fit in with the main series, but should not be ignored

  • @Darkprinny yea exactly, which is why the Triple Trouble board in Classic City Escape was an awesome reference, i feel that the Game Gear games are about as overlooked as the Advance titles so any reference to either of those games is really nice

  • Why did they KEEP replaying Metal Harbor? ...XD

Anyways. Sonic is the best video game character to exist. Ever.

  • I remember the first time I played a video game...back in the 90's My bro had the game gear..Sonic chaos was the FIRST game I ever played...Happy 20th bday sonic and to another 20 to come!

  • Eeeeah... I'm a huge fan of the series but I'm going to have to disagree with the whole "withstand the test of time" and "seamless transition from platform to platform." It has not been seamless and it's been a really, reeeeaally tough time for our favorite spiky rodent.

That being said, really neat stuff in the video.

  • Yet they never talk about the bad...

  • Sonic 3 & knuckles Is my favorite sonic game.

  • There was never anyone like him before, and there never will be another like him.

He is a Megastar, an Icon, a game changer (no pun intended), a positive influence on my life, but more importantly - Sonic The Hedgehog is....a Legend.

  • Sonic 1 was my first Sonic game ever, but Sonic 3 and Knuckles to me, was the absolute BEST Sonic game ever. It had everything that a Sonic game needed to be amazing :)

  • sonic rules now and forever fuck the assholes that said the last 10 years was crap they can eat and die long live the the blue dude

  • I absouloutly HATE how IGN diss sonic. just because the game is too fast for them they come up with random crap like

"the clunky controlls can cause you to fall into bottomless pits"

but they never bash anything like CoD or Mario.

You can't spell IGNorant without IGN

  • @frozenmetroid27027 Its not because its "too fast," its because of his bad track record (Sonic 06, kind of Black Knight, etc.) that pressures sites like IGN to berate him. Otherwise they look bad. There's some unwritten rule that says popular franchises automatically get 9's and 10's- franchises that have lost their way get bad grades until they've been brought back to greatness for atleast 5 years. I think by next year IGN will finally be giving Sonic the time of day again, like he deserves.

  • @FF98Productions yeah boy

  • @FF98Productions Still.....the:

    06: 4.5

    Unleashed 3.5

    is still a huge WTF!?!?

Unleashed deserved at least a 7 or 8.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 8 might be a bit high if you ask me. The game still had it's fair share of bugs, and the level of interaction with the player is Slow and doesn't pick up until you reach the ladder half of the game. Same goes for the Design of the Level maps, allot of it is just too much narrow Hallways, with little exploration.

A Solid 7 sounds a little right, but generous to me too. The game was only fun for a few weeks for me I guess. I just never really picked it back up again after.

  • @SideShowShayne1 Many of those problems you pointed out were present in SA2 also. The game was pretty buggy, the controls would some times become unresponsive, and you would virtually be going in 1 straight line. But you see the thing about Unleashed is, while it still has some other style of gameplay coming with the regular Sonic levels, the Werehog doesn't overlap the Sonic gameplay, like SA2 did with the Treasure Hunting and Shooting. Tbh, after I got this game I havent played SA2 in 3 years.

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Neither do I get why Sa2 gets so much Praise? I agree with allot the points you made. Sa2 just has allot better Controls, and when you do explore you can find secrets, and references. And PersonallyI enjoyed the Werehog a bit -holds up flame shield- It's the quality of the game that matters, and Sa2 is allot higher quality then allot of recent sonic games. But no where near as much Colors, or Generations . Overrated? Yes, Problems ? Yes.

If you ask me SA2 was a step down from SA

  • @SideShowShayne1 I just really don't see why SA2 gets so much love compared to Unleashed. While the Werehog may have gotten tedious, it wasn't as bad as those awful Knuckles and Rouges stages, and the bland generic Tails and Eggman stages.

  • @frozenmetroid27027:well since sonic is more complex than those 2 games they probably aren't really used to that sort of thing since sonic has so many things to do in it they are most likely jst confused half the time.

  • @megasoniczxx I think that cod is quite complex compared to sonic games. If you just walked up to someone who has never played a video game in thier life and let them play both games, I think they would find sonic eaiser than CoD

  • @frozenmetroid27027:well I wasn't talking about difficulty saying like in sonic adventure and sonic adventure 2 its all about finding the fastest way to doing everything which means finding shortcuts exposing glitches doing skips throught the level and pretty much mastering the feel of how everything works with COD and other first person shooters its just crouch shoot and run I mean of course it takes skill and and everything to get the perfect shots in and react in time but thats pretty much it

  • Ah man! I thought they were going to comment on 06. :\

Just like a fall and rise kinda thing.

  • the first sonic game i played was sonic adventure DX. i was six, now im 12 and i realize that it has nothing on the originals :)

  • Sonic is the Best character EVER!!

  • thumbs up if your always humming sonic songs!

  • Sonic has withstood fans over time, but what SEGA needs is a game that can put depth into Sonic's background. Sonic Generatoins is not enough story for one to see and understand Sonic's past. SEGA, if you are reading this take this idea into mind. Sonic is an amazing character with alot of history... try to get all of his history in a bigger nutshell without time travel! Silver did it in 06, be original and make new ideas! just had to say that...

  • "STILL UNSTOPPABLE AFTER 20 YEARS"

    sooooooooooooooooo true! XD

  • Sonic Generations and Sonic 3 and Knuckles: BEST SONIC GAMES EVER.

  • SONIC RULES FORVER!!!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE THE BLUE BLUR!!!!!

  • Even with me being a HUGE Mario fan I have to admit Sonic The Hedgehog is such a revolutionary game. The music, the concept of having you speed through levels with platforming, simply genus.

You really can't compare Mario and Sonic as they are two totally different games IMO. And because of that that is why Sonic is so popular 20 years later.

  • If you watched this video til the end, like :D

  • lol"Smart assnes"

  • Also,SEGA didn't mention the failure from Sonic 06 or Black Knight.

  • @coolblue6650 You suck you know that?

  • @cbonde101 I personally loved those games, you know.

  • @coolblue6650 Oh ok awesome

  • @SONICBOYREBORN234 Yeah, but if you listen to it closely, it's not just sped up.. Pieces are cut and pasted everywhere. REALLY noticeable when it plays at 34:37. It splices all over during that final speech. Hahhaa

  • "Bringing a variety of games to his 'loyal' fanbase."

    Ya right.

  • Sonic the best game charcater i've ever seen!

  • 2 pepole have No respect for the blue hedgehog

  • Sonic can beat the ass out of CoD any time any where...LONG LIVE SONIC!!!!!

  • Happy to see Kenichi Tokoi got a bit of the spotlight in this documentary. It was wonderful hearing him talk about his experience working on Adventure, since for me, that alongside Colors was where a lot of his best work was.

  • Best 36 minutes I spent today! :D

  • @JakeiiiiPower best 36 minutes i spent last night instead of sleeping

  • Sonic, you have always been better than mario.

  • @nicomg1295 you know, how can Sonic do better what Mario does, when they are two different genres?

  • @Hademaster64tv Sonic being more fun

  • @nicomg1295 how so? And anyways, they don't compete, that ended with the Dreamcast, and if Sonic has ALWAYS been better than Mario...well, wouldn't SEGA still be making hardware?

  • @Hademaster64tv Sonic's last game in the dreamcast was SA2, the game that is considered to be the best sonic game ever, however SEGA stopped making hardware, the reason why is kinda unknown, to the "How so", the only way to answer would be: "Because its more entertaining", just that, and you are right, they dont compete NOW. but SEGA's objective with Sonic was competing with mario and be better than mario, so i say that they achieved that.

  • @nicomg1295 they stopped making hardware because after the Saturn, many people lost fate in SEGA
