  • a happy family that end up int a hobo fight

  • very well done. keep it up.

  • i do appologize greatly, I don't like to leave negative comments... but the music was fine, just need to work on getting the singer to get the singer to loosen up a bit. get a different volume and sense of dynamics... You guys will get it. Great attempt though

  • I don't want to but I really like this video.

  • waaaaay too artzy!

  • Only hillbillies can get this song right

  • @jr9950 hes not role-playing you dunce

  • i sing this all day every day

  • Yeah, do some shots and down some 40 ouncers and you'll have the feeling right. As for sound- I suggest singing this song after smoking a couple cigs or while having a lit cigar in your mouth

  • yall butchered this song. im sorry but what yal changed all of the chord changes with the lyrics. not cool.

  • good tune! good job!

  • Thanks :)

  • seriously, did she really need to read the music to play that ? I think she just couldn't keep her eyes off that guy's sexy hat and it awakened strange feelings in her whangdoodle that she wasn't quite comfortable with, so she had to keep her eyes on the page to concentrate.

  • No, it wasn't the hat. Interesting comment though. Honestly, I was insecure as I was just learning the song at the time. When we recorded this we had no idea how many responses it would get. I have learned my lesson though and will not have music in front of me for future recordings.

  • Hope you know I was just kidding, you guys look like you're having fun, and I was dying to use 'whangdoodle' in a sentence :)

  • That is a cool word. How often do you get to use Whangdoodle? I think a whangdoodle is a bird. I would like to see one those sometime. Not to worry, I do know you were kidding. :) I really do feel silly having the music in front of me though. Anyhow thanks for your comment.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!:)

  • not hillbilly enough for me.

  • I think your diction is a bit too good for this song... you gotta like.. lose some teeth or get kinda drunk before you've got the right feeling.. XD

  • You guys got this right!;this song has to be played with the mandolin!!love it!!!

  • Thank you Brian,

We're glad you like it. :) You're right, a song like this does need a mandolin, I'm biased of course though, hehe. Thanks for the kudos. !!!

    Deb

  • I'm glad to hear you mining this wealth of songs, obscured by the mists of time but so wonderfully written. What a great idea to form this style of band. You must be having a blast. There's a song with the lyric "do you remember sweet Betsy from pike?" I would love to hear you do this one as well. Good luck with your music. I enjoyed listening.

  • We are having a ball, and there is more to come we just recorded "Handsome Cabin Boy," " Three Drunken Maidens," and "Wild About my Loving" recently. They are in the process of being mixed. I will have to keep my eyes open for that tune you mentioned. We are always looking for nice old tunes to do. We also have some new tunes that we are working on that are original folk songs that we have written. We'll keep you posted. Thanks for listening. :)

  • What the hells a whangdoodle ?

  • Good question :)

The Whangdoodle is a fanciful creature, as described in folklore and children's literature, usually of the United States

  • I'm from Lynn, Lynn the city of sin. You don't go out the way you went in. I asked for water, they gave me gin!

  • Thank you Boris. That means a lot to us. Thanks for listening :) Stay tuned. We are recording more tunes that will be up next month.

  • Thank you. We are planning on recording more tunes towards that end of the year. Stay tuned. :)

  • were you guys from?? nice work!!

  • Why thank you! Glad you like it. :)

We all come from different towns in Massachusetts all north of Boston. Michael (Guitar) comes from Somerville, Dave (vocals) from Melrose, Sheila (fiddle) from Stoneham and Me (Deb, Mandolin) from Andover.

  • these guys rock!

  • You said it Man!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pretty cool...it does the original version justice, with a modern twist.

  • Gordo - And what may the original be ? I thought it was a traditonal song, unknown origin

  • I'm guessing it was a traditional song, but the first recording of this song was made by Harry McClintock back in the 1920s as far as I know.

  • great man! good luck with ya carears hope you guyz get far! =]

  • hated the lyrics loved the music

  • It's funny the lyrics vary in each rendition. Old songs tend to do that. Glad you like the music, we have a lot of fun with this group. In another group I'm in we are working on changing the lyrics to be more psychedelic. Should be interesting.

  • You People are great!!!!!!!!!!Great rendition!!Keep on jammin

  • It's fine to change lyrics to suit your location, situation, etc. Especially a song this old!

  • the lyrics are wrong

look it up but still good playing of intruments

  • we love dave

  • Dave Rules!!!!

  • Dave Rules!!!

  • Great Song, Very Talent group of preformers
