  • hi..can u help me?how to set the gps setting?my garmin mobile xt did not get any single bar of signal..=(

  • Not that it is a bad thing or anything, but the Touch Pro just seems like an Obese HTC Diamond.

  • Now how do u put signatures on the phone

  • The only thing I hate about this phone is AT&T grey theme, the headset dongle, & the D-Pad.

  • @Kweezy157 With all of the custom roms out there, no more grey!

  • resitive or capacitive?

  • @csuci805 capacitive

  • can som1 plzz tell me y my fone always keeps turning on ( htc fuze) it says.... 'there is a problem connecting to the gprs authentication in your registerd home network' plzz reply bak to me ASAP

  • you have to change the settings in the connections tab

  • Turning on what exactly. I have the fuze so i may be able to help you, but i need more detailss.

  • can i remote desktop into a unix box over the internet? IE administer a server using SSH?

i guess im asking if there is an SSH software for fuze? i just ordered one and that would make my day!

  • is the gps that is on the phone free???

    pls respond thanks...

  • the garmin thing he talked about cost 99 dollars... ill stick with windows live

  • and yaa guys dont forget to put advance config for the phone belive me the phone gets rocketfast plus i just got my hands on the new htc apps first let me use them then i will tell u the names enjoy ....

guys this phone is really nice but i like htc touch pro more ,,,,

  • alright guys listen up,,, torretns for garmin gps is up ,, just look for htc touch pro not htc touch fuze ,,,, this phone suxz the real fone was htc touch pro they made a gay version of it for america anyways,,,,

guys only look for apps for htc touch pro they all work on this phone as both rom and os are same for both of the phones...

the coolest apps for this phone are all going to be up on htc website really soon just remember to choose htc touch pro

  • Nice video! But the comment about the phone heating up caused some concern on my part. How hot does it get? I live in the tropics and spend a lot of time in the sun. Thanks.

  • Thanks, mate! I believe it's worth spending $100.00 on the GPS software if you're a traveler and drive around in multiple countries...

  • It gets annoying when people think Wi-Fi enabled phones cost money...seriously Wi-Fi feature never costs money to have it on your phone.

    The same goes for GPS!!!!!

  • hey hexydes. i have the fuze, do you know if there is any way to turn off/prevent data connection? i dont have a dara plan because i cant afford the 30 dollars a month. when im using touchflow 3D, i sometimes click on the internet or weather tab and it gets expensive.

thank you & btw great vid

  • it's very easy, send me a pm I will respond on sunday

  • Search Google for the "NoData" application from MoDaCo.

  • THaNK YOU!

i also had another question, is downloading apps considered "hacking" the phone? because i dont want to void my warranty.

    thanks again =D

  • Hey Hexydes!

Nice video! I like the next to a stair, on the rug set-up...

I've a question for you, mate!

Q: Does one have to be on 3G or Edge to be able to use that Garmin GPS application? Or it's free?

    Cheers, mate!

  • Thanks! The GPS is free to use, though the software does cost money (I believe $99.95).

  • tomtom is so much better

    and its FREE!!

    (at least torrent)

  • link please

  • so the gps is free???

    come with the phone?

  • No. Unless your wi-fi hotspot charges money (like at a hotel, etc.) The wi-fi on your phone is free though, so long as you have a free wi-fi hotspot.

  • i'm going to say this because i don't like the keys of the epix. i think it'll be easier to type on the fuze. thats just my opinion. good luck!

  • You are correct. We have an Epix as well, and while I like it a lot, and think it is a cool phone, the Fuze has a much better keyboard (and of course pays for it by being about twice as thick).

  • I need help deciding, this or the epix grr help! please

  • This if you want a cooler looking phone that you can hack the hell out of. The Epix if you want a more straight-forward Windows Mobile experience. I would say, I would get the Fuze for myself, but the Epix for my father who like technology, but isn't a huge tech-geek like me.

  • do u get free internet if ur in a wi-fi area?

  • If the wi-fi network in the area is unsecured, yes. So pretty much whatever you would get free on a laptop is the same on the Fuze.

  • I'm assuming the GPS is a monthly ($10) charge?

  • The GPS is free. The software (Garmin Mobile XT) costs money, but once you have that, the service is free. It helps to use the Internet (either EDGE/3G or Wi-fi) to update the settings once a week, so update satellite positions.

  • You can use Windows' Live maps for a free gps

  • lol dongle

  • lol

  • i love my fone =)

  • wats your fone???

  • the fuze duh lol

  • lucky u have one, i just bought a blackjack 2, and this phone came out right after, so I am gona buy it, lol

  • doh, haha. =)

  • is it really thick

  • Nope.

  • doe it cost money to use the gps?

  • not if you have a data plan

  • all hail the data plan

  • No >=[ it cost money lol

  • If u buy the fuze from att with an upgrade does it come with the headphone/fm radio transmitor or do u get that with it if u buy it from htc itself. Somebody respond i hate having to buy seperate headphones!

  • It isn't a transmitter, it plugs into the bottom of the phone and converts the USB to stereo.

  • how does it slide?

... like is it rough, or does it slide really easily?.

... and is the touch screen, fingersensored, or pressure sensored, or even body heat sensored?

...and how easly and fast is it to text?

..and how long does the battery last about?

;if anyone can answer any of my questions, it will be greatly appreciated :]

  • smooth

    fingersensored

    fast txting

not sure on battery i know it 1300 mili amp

  • I get about 12 hours of moderate use from it (talking an hour, playing games for an hour, listening to music for two hours, some other stuff)

  • Ty i love this video i really want this phone now i saw a different video with this fuckin retard that couldnt use touch screen and made me dislike this phone but now i relize he was just retarded and i like this phone.

  • Hah, well, glad I could help. Yeah, the touch works very well, not a problem at all. Check out the Invisible SHIELD as well (I have an installation video in my other videos), it does a good job protecting the screen without getting in the way.

  • is this a good phone compared to the g1, i used to have the g1 but dropped in water and now im with att so i cant get a g1, i do like this though so far. how good of a phone is this.

  • Don't have the G1, but I like this phone a lot.

  • i really thinking about this one it just seams like such a nice phone i was thinking about the blackberry bold but after owning a touch screen id like to keep a touch screen lol so thanks after all the many replys i have gotten about this phone from other vids ppl say its great so ill probably be getting this

  • is the gps free? or do you have to pay for the at&t navigator software..

  • You need software. There are some free options, but most of them require a data plan to stream maps.

  • is there 3rd party applications for this? Like, the iPhone has springboard, and you can jailbreak it and put apps and stuff on it... can you do that with this? Great review, btw... =]

  • i have a question for the htc fuze, for some reason when i connect to the internet everyday i have to retake my battery out because it doesnt work on at&t's connection until i do it and ordered it. is there any way to stop this and keep the active connection without taking the battery out

  • No idea. Might want to try a firmware flash?

  • how much did u buy the phone for?

  • I think it was $349.99 without a rebate.

  • do you have to use that dongle to listen to your music all the time? And also Does the garmin need internet?

  • You would use the dongle to convert the MiniUSB port to a standard 1/8" stereo port.

You do not need Internet to use Garmin. It uses the GPS.

  • Does this gps app have SPEECH on this device??

  • If you mean speech, as in, directional voice instructions, then yes it does. If you mean voice commands like "show restaurants" and such, then no (but very few GPS's have that function anyway, so I'm assuming you meant the former, not the latter).

  • in at&t, if i use the wifi internet, is free is i dont have a data plan???

  • That's correct.

  • what phones at att have wifi? please reply

  • i got blue tooth head phones for mine theyre cool, u can keep the phone in your pocket and change the volume and the tracks from the buttons on the head phones, forget about all this adapter poop. u got a blue tooth phone there buddy!

  • Good deal!

  • can u put skyfire into it and can u send picture messages and can u receive picture messages

  • Yes, you can do all of those things.

  • what is sky fire

  • It is a free mobile web browser, similar to Opera.

  • do you have to have a data plan for the sky fire and opera mini

  • i was wondering, does the fuze have a charm slot anywhere?

  • I don't believe so, no.

  • there is one it is inside the cover though on the bottom there is a little whole :)

  • does it come with headphones too? and can youtube work smoothly?

  • No headphones (but it comes with an adapter, which is more important since earbud headphones suck), and I have not tried the YouTube application, though I would imagine that non-HD/HQ videos will likely play fairly well (they don't take much in the way of resources).

  • does the youtube app cost anything, and if im using wifi, the internet is free, right?

  • Cost is free (comes with the phone, though it is not exposed as an application, you have to browse the File Explorer to find it, I think), and I would imagine it would be free to use so long as you are using wi-fi.

  • i asked at&t if it was free through wifi and they said it was.

  • do u have to pay for the gps

  • No, just the Garmin Mobile XT software, which is around $100 USD.

  • thank man

  • an one knows how to transfer songs and data to htc fuze from other cellphones. i tried but i could see all data in my other phone but was not able to copy it on my htc

  • I don't think you'll be able to do a phone-to-phone copy, you'll probably need to copy the data to the computer first, and then send it to the phone.

  • can

    the

    fuze

    do

    itunes

  • No

    it

    cannot

    but

    there

    are

    other

    options

    ;)

  • Hey, do you know a good flash player for this phone? Im trying to watch youtube on this phone.

  • Start/File Browser/Windows

scroll down till you get to "Youtube"

    ;)

  • Yup, though AT&T hid it for whatever reason, there is a dedicated YouTube application included right on the Fuze. :) I think that Skyfire can also play them...

  • where do u find file browser

  • Start >> Programs >> Tools >> File Explorer

  • Was wondering if you looked into the possible tv-out jack on the dongle? If it is a tv-out, does it project everything on the phone to tv including slingbox if its installed? Thanks, very helpful and informative demo by the way.

  • From what I have seen on YouTube, you simply see an enlarged version of everything that is on your screen. Unless videos are drawn on the screen using something weird (i.e. DirectShow with Windows), then I would assume you would see the video full screen, if it was playing full-screen on the phone.

  • do you have to get a monthly plan or anything to use the GPS feature?

  • No, GPS is free, you just have to buy the software from Garmin.

  • So you have to use the Garmin software for the GPS to work?

  • You can use any software made for Windows Mobile that can access a GPS. Garmin Mobile XT is one example.

  • of course! you turn it to FM radio and that shitty grunge-goth-rap song from 1998 is STILL PLAYING!!!!!!!!

that's the kind of thing that makes me want to give up on living...

BTW...can you post the links to the software? and i seem to be running a different looking OS

  • I wish I could, YouTube doesn't support linking I don't think...the Garmin software is available from Garmin's website, the remote desktop software comes installed on the phone, and the FM Radio is available from XDA-Developers (just search Google for "XDA-Developers", "FM Radio", and "Raphael").

If you have a different-looking TouchFlo 3D interface, you are probably using the HTC Touch Pro version from HTC or Sprint, which has a black UI. AT&T's version is white.

  • Well that promotion is over. If you go to At&t website. It is $300 up front. Because I have an exclusive Dealership account with At&t I still have some left over from Black Friday that were specially priced. I have 20 left.

I can get you a brand new Fuze for $250

$150 after rebate. So I could save you a lot of money. We didn't sell a whole lot in our small town cause a lot people here are old fashion. But if your a techy person this is a sweet phone.

  • Hmm, looks like it is the same on their website to me (i.e. $350 without a data plan, or $300 with a data plan).

  • Hi, I like the review very much. I was wondering if this phone has a glass screen and if there are headphones included that plug directly into the USB or if that bulky dongle is needed. thanks very much

  • Glad you liked the review! The screen is not glass, it is plastic, though it is quite durable (if you've used any of the other PDA phones by HTC, it is very similar). If you want headphone support out of the box, you will need to use the bulky adapter, though there are many USB-to-stereo adapters available from places like Amazon that are much less bulky, and they run about $5 + shipping.

  • hi, do u have to pay monthly for the GPS? and did u have to pay for the GPS software?

  • No, the GPS radio does not use data, and as such, is free to use. You might want to employ the MoDaCo "NoData" application though as well, to just make sure nothing gets accidentally enabled! The GPS software is the Garmin Mobile XT made by Garmin, and costs $100.

  • Is there a place where I put put my regular sony headphones in there like I do for my ipod?

  • When you buy the Fuze, you should get a little breakout box (as seen in the video) that will let you plug any standard 1/8" stereo plug into the box, which will allow the sound to play through the headphones.

  • can the phone read the texts you get out loud?

  • Good question. I don't know the answer, but I'm willing to bet that there might be some software out there (probably at XDA-devs) that can add that function?

  • first, how much does the garmin gps software cost and is it easy to load up on the phone?

second, can you use the garmin gps without any kind of internet connection?

  • I have the same question aswell???

  • 1. The Garmin Mobile XT software is $99.99

    2. It was quite easy to load.

    3. Yes, the Garmin software just uses the GPS radio, no data necessary.

  • looks like a nice phone. couple questions tho. is the touch screen responsive? and does it feel bulky in your pocket?

  • The touch-screen is very responsive, though you have to touch it with slightly more pressure than I did with my 8525. It doesn't feel bulky at all in my pocket, again though coming from the slightly bulkier 8525. I also have somewhat larger pockets too, so that could be a factor. It's definitely not bulky though. I would try going to your local AT&T/Sprint store, and just pull the phone off of the display, and put it in your pocket. I always do that (and get some weird looks, but whatever). :)

  • Wow, one more cool thing I learned (wish I would have showed this off). Apparently, when you use the camera on the phone, there is an option to shoot in "GPS Mode"...guess what that means? =) That's right, the phone will initialize the GPS and insert the GPS coordinates of where you are into the metadata of your picture. This technology is available on a few cameras, but I've never seen it available on a cell phone's camera before...how cool! =)

  • Is there a data only plan for this phone?

Thanks for sharing this! A lot better then everyone elses.

  • Like all of AT&T's smartphones (assuming you are using AT&T, who carries the "Fuze" version of the Touch Pro), you *CAN* get a data plan if you want one; in fact, AT&T told me I could not get this phone without a data plan. However, that is not true, and I told them as such, and sure enough, I got this phone without a data plan. =P (of course keep in mind you will not get your data plan rebate if you go this route, but for me, it made more sense, as I have wi-fi everywhere I go)

  • Oh, and thanks! Glad you liked the video! I know that there are a lot of reviews of the phone here on YouTube (after only a few weeks, I'm sure many more will pop up), so I wanted to do something a bit different to show off some of the advanced capabilities of the phone! =)

  • I got this phone last week. I kept waiting cause the iphone was not really all I was looking for and neither will the blackberry storm. I am glad I got this one cause the off screen keyboard is much more foolproof and the 640X480 resolution is double the iphones and still alot more than the storm's 480X360.

  • Yeah, the resolution on this phone is crazy. Text is SUPER clear, and pictures/videos look fantastic. I don't know that you'd get a lot more benefit out of anything more than 640 x 480 on these size screens, but 640 x 480 seems to be the perfect resolution.

  • Also guys, this video was shot in 720p. If you just use the high-quality link, it will be 480p, but feel free to add &fmt=22 onto the end of the link, and you should get the 720p version. :)

  • are all of these features free?

  • The GPS from Garmin is $99 I believe. If you don't want to pay the money, and have a data plan (or only want to use it when you have wi-fi availabl), Google maps works pretty well too, but again, you need data of some kind to use it. FM Radio is free, just download the CAB from the link in the video. Windows Remote Desktop software comes bundled and ready to go with the phone (you need to put your settings in, of course). :)

  • okay thanks((:

  • No problem, thanks for watching! =)
