i think dave grohl is overrated, and i think the foos are greatly overrated. they arent a good rock band. i mean if you listen to their stuff, the only standout songs are the ones theyve released. the rest of it falls short of being good, i think its just poor. i havent heard a full album by them i could listen to.

unlike qotsa, whos first 4 albums were solidly the greatest stuff written in years by any band, except mondo generator.

i can appreciate his musical talent TO THE EXTENT IT SHOULD BE. hes good, hes not 'god' like half of the pussys on here say he is. alain johannes is a clearly superior musician. and yes i can dislike grohl even if i did appreciate his musical abilities more - in every interview ive watched of the guy, i cant describe it, i just get the feeling - man this guy is a fucking dickhead and an egotistic cunt. i dont know why because though because hes supposed to be a nice person.

@JHo4God i mean in terms of true music "genius" i leave it to the jazz greats, but as far as rock grohl does it all. writes, sings, plays guitar, murders drums.

hard to say alain is a superior musician -- they are doing very different things and have for their respective careers.

i've always considered grohl oneof the most down down-to-earth celebrities, but you're definitely entitled to your opinion. if i was in a band, though, id want a dave grohl type guy in it with me.

i mean so do a lot of other musicians, grohl just gets more recognition for doing it for some reason. its not hard to say alain is a superior musician - hes a fucking godlike multi instrumentalist and a seriously seriously sick ass guitar player. aye i just always think in his interviews he just acts like a big of a cunt, as i say i cant really describe why i think it, he just has the air of a total dick ha.

@JHo4God of course there are tons of talents out there who dont get his kind of recognition. why? well, the fact that he's been in 4 popular groups ranging from very popular to genre-defining. i think people are drawn to him because he's such a star and he has talent. which is a rare combo.

@JHo4God haha, i have to agree with you at some extent, yes Alain (listened to his Desert Sessions, eleven, QOTSA, euphoria morning and spark stuff) is far superior, in my opinion, to just about everyone in that group (maybe even JPJ -and i'm a zep fan, listened to JPJ solo stuff and am a musician myself). I often sensed a hypocritical Dave hiding the rockstar ego behind the mister nice guy face but then again i can live with that and i can't hate on him 'cause he's still good at what he does
