I like the boiled noodles, but I do not like the sugar. I ordered this dish at a restaurant recently and sent it back. Too sweet. Nice video, good job, just wish individual food items were on a single color tablecloth so they can be visible.
No way! Heat cooking oil, add chopped garlic, add crushed peanuts, throw in shrimp, fish sauce, cilantro - dump on noodles. Fry egg. Dump on noodles (which you added Pad Thai sauce to). Add bean sprouts. Eat! Easy method. Can use ketchup instead of Pad Thai sauce. It works surprisingly well.Just add fish sauce, and perhaps lime juice.
That is such a big wok..lol But you know what? I love Pad Thai so much I can see myself making one big pot and eating leftovers. ;) Great job on the vid. Is that the cranberries.. haha
Kuya, Nice work! Informative and good humor...I like your style...I need a camera girl! What are you shooting with? I use a pair of Flips, but I have not learned the video editing end of it...I'm on the right path though! Keep up the good work-Curt
cool video! i thought you were psychic, as i was saying to myself, thats a cool song.. then seconds later it said "cool song, no?" i will be attempting pad thai this weekend!
Sorry but you are not supposed to boil the noodles. I bet the noodles are mushy and way too soft. It has to have a bit of a bite. Soak them in cold water for at least 45 minutes to an hour. When you stir fry them in the wok, you just add a small amount of water and let them soften in the wok.
When you let them soften in the wok and retain some of the bite from the noodles your Pad Thai will be so much better. Also you should try making your own Pad Thai sauce. It isn't very hard. Make a large batch so you can use when ever company comes over. All you need is some Tamarind pulp, fish sauce (Patis) and Coconut sugar (palm sugar). Keep making it until you have practically perfected it.
@Cabocoleman I always wondered if to boil the noodles or not cos when I make it, it tends to come out a bit soft so glad for the info cos I love the spicy-sweet taste of pad thai especially with tofu :)
nice try... i suggest u put noodle first then beansprout last.... because beansprout cooks fast and will not be crunchy if u overcook. thanks for the vid i m making my first pad thai tonight
還有我猜豆腐大概是炸得稀巴爛碎了,因為鍋子還沒熱就下豆腐當然會黏鍋,難怪他忘了放豆腐進去炒麵。不過豆腐真的能炒麵嗎? I've never seen tofu in fried noodles, but I'd love to try this recipe. That sounds like fun. The problem is how do I stir fry the noodles without breaking the tofus? They are so delicate.
hey! The noodles look ... interesting, and the demonstrator is cute!
great cook video...pro na pro ang dating ah.. i like pad thai, i'll follow ur receipe one of these days but nothing compares to palabok n pancit....thanx 4 da tip
you shouldn't use that kind of fish sauce it's the fake one it's a copy of the real fish sauce the one that taste good is the vietnamese one so yeah the expensive one.
Thank You! I tried this and it is delicious! I made it with some personal touches, but I appreciate that you posted this. I definately think that you should try softer quieter music or not have it at all, because I could barely hear the directions. Anyway, do you know any thai soups? Maybe you could post them. Thanks.
To avoid sticking or burning the ingredients on the wok, you need to make the temperature higher, wait until the wok is very hot enough to add anything, add more oils than the dish you videotaped. Especially when you cook meat, poutry, eggs, and rice, those steps are very important.
This is a FAIL Pad Thai.. so not Thai.. @@

It depends on the noodles. You can boil but not too long.

no mushrooms. no, no. You Fail.
Sorry, but it seems people are especially defensive of the authenticity of this particular dish.
who knows why?
void212 4 years ago
It's been so americanized at most restaurants, it's not even funny.

oh! you're probably most right. the mushrooms may make it a bit inauthentic, but i do love them so!
