  • Disgusting. The lying hypocrites have tons of dirt to hide. It's the only reason Brad is still in prison. His lawyer David Coombs has 50 witnesses to testify in his defense.

  • It's good to see at least two clear-thinking journalists interested in pursuing the facts of importance.

And equally disheartening to see yet another US Government "spokesperson" whose role is clearly to hide the facts and serve up only a thin facade of doublespeak or whatever that rambling drivel might be called.

  • I thought this was about DHR. Department of Human Rights Violations.

  • This guy looks like hes scared to death. What a liar

  • BRADLEY MANNING AMERICAN HERO

  • In a recent interview Obama said that Bradley Manning cannot be excused because he "broke the law".

Where I come from such a prejudicial statement by the President would rule out any possibility of a fair trial. The charges would be dismissed.

Bradley Manning would be freed, and Obama removed from office.

(or am I missing something here?)

  • Excellent video. Thank you for posting. The US is the poster child for hypocritical lying murderous regimes. US wages endless war around the globe, lies about it. Half the populace is delusional and lives in alternate reality land. Someday maybe justice will be done. We desperately need a third party mass movement in this county.

  • They are playing pingpong with his head, and he isn't able to mount any cogent defense.

  • lol at 5:50

now US human right is just as good as China then? LOL

  • It's a pity the folks in the State Dept continue harbor illusions about their supposed exemplary human rights record. Shame.

  • Obama is commander-in-chief of the US military & chief law enforcement executive of the US. Reports of torture of Bradley Manning can't be confirmed nor disproved because Obama's subordinates will allow no independent access to Manning. I guess Obama learned secrecy/torture at Harvard. One caveat -- if this reporter is in fact from AP, one has to consider that Reuters/AP are owned by the Rothschild crime family, majority owners of the Federal Reserve scam, & who also control the US govt & UN.

  • Actually, at the very end, he seems to be challenging the "independent media" to expose the truth about Manning's mistreatment. You saw what they did to Crowley. This is as close as he can come to saying, "There are definitely human rights abuses here. The facts are out there. Report them."

  • This is what journalism is about. I was thinking about that parody Stephen Colbert did at the Press Club where he called them out and challenged them a few years ago. A looks like a couple were paying attention.

  • From 05:52 to the end: THAT IS A THREAT! It's saying, "Shut up, or you'll never talk to anyone in government ever again."

  • Innocent till proven guilty is thrown out in this case and many others by our hypocritical government. This would be bad if Bush was presiding over it (anyone remember the railroading of John Walker Lindh?). It is particularly heinous under constitutional scholar Obama. I'm disgusted, and disgusted that I'll likely be forced to vote for Obama again simply to keep a rightwing nutjob out of office. Is Obama so far into a bubble that he's able to remain blind to this hypocrisy or is he aware?

  • @billbb46 Unfortunately, while IuPG does apply under military law, which is what Pfc Manning is facing, he won't have access to an impartial jury. He'll be a chicken that's been dipped in blood and tossed into a pit full of foxes.

  • So can someone tell me what Obama has done so far? Anything? Anything? No.

  • @sae1288 He's been very effective, but Democrats like you may be frustrated because he's also a team player and pragmatic. It may have taken him 2 years to eliminate Don't Ask/Don't Tell, for example, but he was able to effect this change with minimum of disruption to military.

  • I want to fucking hug that journalist in the front.

  • So, what exactly is the difference between the Chinese gummint stonewalling and the US gummint stonewalling? Except, of course, that OUR guys stonewalling don't have slanty eyes, for the most part.

  • we have nothing to hide (except bradley manning from internationally recognized human rights organizations)

  • Timeline of internal monologue:

2:02 - Oh $#!@. Should have seen this coming. Don't look 'em in the eyes, they'll see my fear.

2:30 - Wait, what? Someone needs to tell me this stuff...

2:50 - Quick, pass the buck! Pass the buck!

2:55 - ... I hate you guys so much right now

3:10 - Come on! Just leave me alone!

4:44 - I'm a human being damnit! Just leave me alone!

4:47 - Guess who's getting wire tapped tonight

5:05 - Shut up! You're gonna get me fired!

6:09 - Screw you guys! I'm going home!

  • Great stuff, thanks for posting.

  • so far only one scumbag didnt like this video. come on guys, I know there is more of your kind ;-)

  • God at least before I could argue to myself that the US was the lesser of the evils. At least I could justify calling myself an American and feel somewhat blessed for living in a country of some decency, despite some serious flaws. Now, all I would be doing is making a straight faced lie

  • real journalists in america? more likely than I thought...

  • Whatever happened to the "streamlining of govt" after 9/11 to implement cross communication between govt agencies??!?!?!?!? These fools still play the same game. "we can't comment on that because that's handled by another dept" BULLSHIT! If you asshats have nothing to hide, then let the investigator see the man!

  • this "free Bradley Manning" stuff is slowly picking up momentum, they really aren't dealing with it too well.

Even this guy's FATHER spoke to the press, and you can be sure he detests the little fag, lol.... I mean seriously the guy must feel like puking when he sees that famous smiling face in uniform.

I think making him strip in front of guards offended US sensibilities in a way nothing else did. It was at that point all kinds of people started to object to his treatment. Bad move.

  • @newyorkcat u are one fine individual.......

  • fefes botnetz. :)

  • surreal

  • We're having an ongoing conversation with the UN rapporter… they say can we see PFC Bradley Manning we say we'd have to ask DOD.

Will you ask DOD for access? No I wont even answer that question…

That would be a classic Catch-22 to avoid facing a Truth about our government we would rather not face, privately or in public.

    The Audacity of Hopelessness. :/

  • Danke fefe. In other news, its a fucking disgrace to a western country.

  • fefe

  • China should learn from the US. Apparently all they have to do is say "that's something for the Ministry of Defense to address."

  • The reason no one outside can see manning is because he's a mess and they don't want anyone to know. And if you american's are so fucking set against communism and socialism, why do you buy things made in china?????

  • nailed that little cunt

  • Damn touch screen! Ah hem! - WAY TO GO! keep those balls-a-growing! The treatment of Bradley Manning is unconstitutional and we need to rise up and take notice. Can't let this set precedent or it'll be all downhill forthe rest of us. Free Bradley Manning!

  • WAY TO GO! keep those balls-a-growing! Mannings treatment is

  • If US is not going to talk about Manning then it is as bad as anyone it accuses.

  • thx fefe

  • i think it was only his botnet :)

he doesn't show up personally, until 100+ people post their facepalm smiley here

    m(

  • next candidate for the no-fly list

  • Hi Fefe.

  • hooray for free press. well done

  • fefe was here

  • Last time you'll see THAT guy allowed into a state dept (or any other) briefing :-(

  • Last time you'll see THAT guy allowed into a state dept (or any other) briefing :-(

  • Heh heh, these two reporters really kick ass.

  • absurd and aughable

  • @omnidaosae I like your comment, but isn't it even worse to see the State Department agreeing, that there are human rights issues, and claim "we have nothing to hide" at the same time? It's like Bush's torture policy: We waterboarded KSM 183 times in one month. Hell yeah, we did.

  • @raphi72 I'm certainly disturbed by the State Department's denial of what is going on, however I interpreted it differently in that he at first asserted that "we have nothing to hide", and then went back and gave forth a sliver of an admission.

It is clear that the State Department's official stance on the issue is that "we have nothing to hide", and what was said in the end was Mark's input; which, after all is said and done, makes Mark better than a robot.

  • Matthew Lee (the reporter) is a champ. He makes these briefings very interesting to watch. He actually attempts to dig beyond the PR responses normally dished out, and he's knowledgeable enough to do this well. Arshad is interesting to listen to as well.

I do think Mark Toner is an alright guy as well. He is actually under certain legal restrictions as to what he can say. Near the end, however, he basically agreed that there may be h.rights issues without actually agreeing, which is pretty cool.

  • I pray for the next 9/11 to wipe off the Pentagon completely.

  • "uh uh umm we we we've w'eve done uhhh, um, I I I I mean uhhhh"

  • See, this is proof that the AP kicks ass. They are the unsung heroes of American mainstream journalism. They don't have to go on television all the time, so they don't have to pull any punches.

  • What a chump. That AP dude shut that turd the fuck down. Thumbs up.

  • That was epic. Is it wrong that I was actually laughing out loud during this? That idiot at the podium got torn to fucking shreds.

  • makes me ashamed to be american

  • I agree wholeheartedly with stephanien001: finally we got a reporter with some balls asking some real questions!

  • about effing time someone lit a fire under their asses.

  • Obama has done NOTHING! THIS IS ABSURD! Our so-called president of Change believes the TORTURE of Bradley Manning is progressive??!!!

  • @NDHduz The problem with having only two parties is that both might suck and you have to select the one that sucks less. Of course you´re comment is right but I doubt any republican president would have done more to stop the torture.

  • @NDHduz legally, they're just short of torture. They are keeping it as close to torture as they can, though, that's obvious. But you are correct, the new boss is a lot like the old boss, despite all the promises.

  • @NDHduz True, but what are you supposed to do? It's not like there is an alternative, is there? And I think Obama is the way he is because he is scared of the Republicans.

  • @NDHduz Yeah what a surprise that the 'president of hearts' from ganstertown Chicago is nothing more but another puppet? A 'campaign' to get elected chief mobster costing 600.000.000 dollars funded almost solely by the cleptocratic banks must surely end up in getting the 'best of the best' crowd pleaser. The black Kennedy of the days is surrounded and steered by interest groups as is EVERY president around the planet. Democracy is the sham for the masses, two wings and a head never seen.
