I think he just lands funny. Knowing Cushing's professionalism, if he really had hurt himself, he would have just continued with the take.

@bonpourvous In the movie that clip is taken from, he wears gloves through the movie because he's suppose to have injurned them during an experiment (burned most likely). So when he jumped, he used his injured hands to help land, and for Frankenstein that must have been painful.
