Tata had recorded the song and had plans to release the song, before Ashely. Ashely was given the song after her signing with Warner Bros. Records for an album. It may be for money that they gave her the rights to the song but it never was a hit in the US nor was her album. Most still look at her as the High School Musical star. Well its like the point i was trying to make earlier. Ashley's version seemed to pull in more money for the writers of the song. Her album undeniably sold more than Temperature rising. Granted most of the sales came from the US and it also went platinum in Brazil, I believe the sales are still higher as 50k isn't much and at most Tata got 100k in thailand market. No offense to Tata but i think thats why the writers(who were european) gave the song to Ashley. So they could recieve more royalties.
