  • There's a vid of Johnny Woods doing this, called it Telephone Blues

  • Sweet Jesus!!! People, if you haven't read Moanin' At Midnight: The Life and Times of Howlin' Wolf, by Segrest and Hoffman, you can't know which end is up. It doesn't get any more authentic (and scary) than this. Gotta love it!

  • You can really hear Howlin' Wolf's voice in Captain Beefheart.

  • watch the movie cadillac records and ull c tht muddy water s was also one of the first people to use the power chord

  • i've heard this is one of the first songs to use to the power chord?

  • @cryingmushroom47 I haven't heard that said about this song, but a song that is said to have made the power chord popular was Link Wray's "Rumble" in 1958.

  • @GreekFire25 Yeh i've heard that too.

  • 2 ppl are scarred to death

  • This is the real shit. Everything else, including my own stuff, is just an imitation. You can't duplicate this I don't care who you are....

Check out my stuff: Bob Stannard

  • sounds like telephone blues

  • this track makes the atomic bomb look tame

  • the best part is the gradual change in tempo - the build - play the start then skip to the end. Baddest blues voice!

  • damn.

  • I think I heard a little "Break on through" towards the end.

  • haunting.

  • In my opinion there are two artists who definitely came from another planet, cos they are not of this world....one is Hank Williams, and the other, of course, the Wolf

  • OK! I think I'll listen to it again! I never grow weary of Chester Burnett, he's a good source of fuel. Vive la Wolf!

  • "...if I had to name one hero, it would be Howlin' Wolf...he was a monster..." (or something like that) quote Hunter Thompson. Yes, he was. That's all I got t say.

  • Good to see this historic track recorded in our studio here in Memphis is still alive and kickin!

  • brainwash.

  • First time I heard this I was like " wait, this is what plays in my head, when I'm trying to walk home at 3 am, after waking up in a bush."

  • Che voce!

  • i love this song wolf had one hell of a voice, its a bit haunting actually he lived up to his name thats for sure

  • @Ashdude hendrix said when he first heard muddy waters as a kid it scared him lol

  • @Ashdude This is what a wolf would sound like if he could sing

  • All those hours wasted listening to Zeppelin, Cream, Yardbirds etc. I could have been listening to this instead.

  • @jaybird321 Wasted hours listening to Zeppelin and Cream? are u mentally okay . I love howlin Wolf and Zeppelin etc.

  • @LongLiveTheBlues My comment was meant more as a recognition of what a lot of rocks stars owe to this type of music. Yes, I love Zepplin also.

  • @jaybird321 I did the other way around, still fucking love Zep, but yeah, this is another league.

  • I love this ..makes my hair standup

  • thank you for posting this

  • Well, don'tchu worry, dad's goin' ta bed. :)
