The Mustang's V6 engine is almost as double as the GTI's.. The GTI is only a v4.. so, to be fare.. the GTI is performing very well. I've got a mk6 GTI.. and for a v4 turbo charged engine.. It's fuckin' awesome (;

Having owned manual cars for years, i just picked up a Mk6 GTI a few weeks ago with DSG. Yes, manual has a charm to it but the DSG is just unbelievable. Perfect in traffic and brilliant in manual mode with the paddles, upshift noise is fantastic.

I thought i might regret getting a DSG GTI but i can say with confidence that it's the best choice i've made. Don't knock it until you have tried it

V6 has Pony hast 211 hp and rwhp much less. So the GTI has real 200 hp and is lighter!

V6 has speedlimit @ 115 mph.

I raced a gt mustang in my 08 mkv nd smoked him on the free way and it was the 2010 mustang gt I just laughed as I seen him in my rear view mirror trying to keep up maybe I got lucky all I can say is that he got smoked nd when we got off the freeway he pulled.next to me nd said damb I might need to trade my stang in for one of those lol oh how funny it was gti's are beast but the funny thing about the whole thing is that my gti is stock other then a freeflow straight piped exhuast :) lol

@C3PO1128 I gotta MKV GTi GIAC Software, 6 Spd. Manuel, Forge Diverter Valve, CAI/EXH/ Stock Turbo. My friend Jon has a 2010 GT Mustang, CAI, Off-road Xpipes, Superchips chip. 5 spd. Manuel and He pulls off a dig thanks to RWD but 2nd thru 5th He's losing headway thru every upshift. From 3rd gear pull it's not even close, The GTI's sweet spot powerband is like 3 thru 4th. It's a straigh up shellacking from a roll at any gear after 1st. My 1st gear is almost useless. Too much power to front wheel

thats a old mustang v6 they go 0 to 60 in 8 seconds slow but the new mustang v6 goes 0 to 60 in 5.5 that would beat the gti and thats not even bringing up th mustang gt

Mustangs are played out plastic pieces of shit. Hooray, it has a nice engine, everything else about the car is garbage. Live rear axle... nice.

That's why I bought the GTI. It's excellent in all categories... and incredibly tuneable. For less than five grand you can nearly double the horsepower and torque.

I watched that video too. Handles great on a smooth dry track with summer tires... until it gets to a bumpy twist and the Mustang unsettles strongly enough to concern the professional racing driver.

And that's in perfect conditions. Try that with a little rain, a little snow, a bumpier road, and your shiny new Mustang will be in the fucking ditch.

The Motortrend M3 vs 5.0? It's a pretty good vid, the 5.0 is impressive on the track, but kind of roads I like to drive stability and poise are more important than raw power. If you can't confidently fling the car around a corner in less than optimal conditions, what good is it?
