  • Aww i felt really sorry for Ford, the way his face fell when he ate the biscuit :(

  • This Narrator is Peter Jones. Not related to Simon Jones, who played Arthur Dent.

  • "Message ends" And so does the video. XP

  • You know, sometims I wonder what the show would've been like if Arthur and Ford were played by John Cleese and Eric Idle.

  • The little "entry start/end" chirp of the 'Guide warms my heart. #80schild #raisedbyTV

  • It's revolting!!! So funny the look on his face

  • @pocketpond982 he's saying he prefers steven fry as narrator

  • I used a towel as a weapon today O.o

-knocked down a bat into the wall

  • i've just finished the book...GREAT!

  • it was stephen fry in the newer radio series...made maybe a decade ago?

  • I just realized something... The rest of the people of Earth didn't need a babelfish to understand Jeltz, but Arthur Dent did... o.0

  • @StealthTroops they translated the message for the primitive planet of earth, but not on-board…

  • If you look in the right side of the screen at 3:27 there is an object that looks very like the statue of liberty.

  • After watching this for the first time I resolved to always keep my jacket handy--it's a towel, but with sleeves!--and a packet or too of tea...

Poor Arthur, stranded all the way across the galaxy with no home and he can't even have a cup of his favorite drink!

  • of course the guide is unacurate! the whole population charts where copied from a cereal box!

  • Is that blue bread with guacamole and cinnamon? YUM!

  • I just love watching sci-fi stuff from back then. Its funny to see the things that are supposed to be "futuristic advanced technology" that in fact look to us clunky and ridiculous compared to the things that we actually have that do what the fictional technology is supposed to do and much more and much better!

  • even now even how dated it looks I love the prop for the book it just looks so cool!

  • lmfao man i'm loving this shit

  • @40390576 .. besides i'm an atheist, so i can't condemn anyone to what i'd say is a non-existent place, only your god can do that according to his word (that you faithfully keep and judge with too), and he will have? So your expression of hope for the opposite is, by your own belief, simply adding insult to injury and a jeer. And you aspire to enjoy paradise while knowing others are suffering hell. This is what i find disgusting and i'm sorry, it doesn't suprise me that you find that strange.

  • @intermender Touché my friend, touché. Your words have pleased me very much, and with this random remark I hope that you will understand my sympathies and support for kinds such as yours. Bravo!

  • @Zeanu I beg your pardon? Can you be more specific please.

  • @intermender How more specific can "my sympathies and support" to kinds such as "yours" be?

  • @Zeanu What? , its perfectly clear: list your 'sympathies and support' more explicitely so i can relate them to what i've said and respond accordingly. Are you just trying to waste my time or do actually want to make a point to discuss?

  • @intermender @intermender Pffft, hahah. Nope, sir, you're the one wasting your own time in failing to grasp its simplicity... maaaybe, just (JUST) maybe - I mean, pft I'm, just throwin' something crazy out there y'know - maybe if you had gone to take the tiniest, microscopic effort of, going back in time a little, and notice that I was refering to your reply to Mr. 40390576 and saying that I applauded your comebacks, then you wouldn't have been boggled so fiercely by a simple young lady.

  • @Zeanu Well it might be simple to you but not to me. Just because 99% of the population might understand you, doesnt' mean i will does it? So then if i ask for clarification why do you berate me for it? And how am i supposed to match your comment with what i've said if i dont' even understand it? If i asked to you find a part in a shop is it wasting my time giving you a part number if you ask for it? People are individuals and they all have their strengths and weaknesses in different places.

  • @intermender Maaaybe, MAYBE! Just-- maybe... you're trying a bit too hard on this. (Justmaybe!)

  • @Zeanu lol, relative to what?

  • @intermender To the fact I had given you a moment to use your brain to figure out what I meant, and despite that, me just telling you what I meant about two weeks ago...

  • @Zeanu lol, yes, you didn't' clarify then either, so why reopen the conversation. Lets just agree to move on, ok?

  • @intermender Because I'm a stiff-headed girl and I like to leave knowing the other party has understood completely!

  • @40390576 But according to your scripture and belief, he is in hell? Doesn't your scripture expressly says he is for not living according to it?

your hope is irrelevant against the word of your god? Its as useful as giving a patient a bandage while depriving him of oxygen?

  • @40390576 Duggie is surely in hell, HHGTG or his life is not compatible with any holy book? No number of RIP's is going to help if gods word says you go to hell for not heeding his word? The same word religion with its age-old plundeed riches imposes upon society, government, and public morality (e.g Pope). So do you still think you will be happy in heaven when meanwhile Duggie is in hell? Nothing personal or disrespect, but to be honest, i find your comment quite disgusting.

  • I'm so high right now... i got no idea whats go'in on...

Don't forget to bring a towel.

  • @NoukonGlobal that bit rocked! hahaha

  • Ahhh, the old guide entries.Plain and simple, and very, very funny.

  • the original movie is so weird

  • Too bad the movie was just slightly less than horrible. It had its' moments, but they tried too much to 'Americanize' the story.

  • came across this show for the first time on HERE actually...got curious, started watching it....liked it. :3 this is pretty good.

  • Don't forget to bring your towel.

  • Yum.. Blue sausage with green goo and some powder

  • the films not a patch on the series.

the special effects in the series match the humour off the book to a tea.

  • @weadone Almost but not entirely unlike tea

  • "The hoopiest frood food in the galaxy"? No thanks!

  • I tell ya, this show had the best sound desgin in BBC history...

  • o.0 2:16 tasty

  • Stephen Fry was perfect for the role of the Narrator.

  • @barisaxman2 The Book's voice in the radio and TV series is Peter Jones, not to be confused with the entrepreneur.

  • @barisaxman2 but it isn't Stephen Fry......

  • @barisaxman2 He's perfect for every narration role, he's the English, white Morgan Freeman.

  • Comment removed

  • @barisaxman2 That was in the 2005 movie lol! Not in this

  • does ford have a towel?

  • he doesnt have his towel

  • then i guess he's not gonna survive huh?

  • He does actually, its in his Bag, it says so in the Book

  • i love the actor who plays Ford, his face is soooo funny when he eats that food, looks like hes going to throw up, saying that i nearly did just lookin at it lol

  • I agree! I like some of Mos Def's faces too. Like when Marvin pulled the gun on him and he threw up the towel and said "doogooloogoolooogoloooo" i think.
