@Azguul when you get to the giant blacksmith in anor londo you should use quelaags soul and your +10scimitar to make quelaags furysword i think it scales b with dex but not sure on that p.s. use the scimitar to make furysword because its worse than your falcion and its the same power whether its upgraded with a scimitar or a falcion. hope this helps
I'm really looking forward to next Dark Souls Monday. It's going to be interesting when you decide where to go next. After you found that "Amazing Chest" and enjoyed the "Gorgeous view" how about visit you old buddy Frampt at firelink, to further elucidate you fate? And don't forget you have plenty options and places to explore next. Like the forest, demon ruins, new londo, the fog gate in anor londo and the secret area in blighttown at the tree root. *cough*go there*cough*
@abchallo01 Hahaha, thanks abcha, I'll try to keep all that in mind. In case I forget, remind me next video. I'll try to remember, but I often forget the advice given to me by my betters =)
Great videos, really having fun watching you play without a shield. As painful as it is sometimes I hope you keep it up! Although in my oppinion the Smough and Ornstein fight is harder for slower shield users, not surprised that you had an easier time with it. Also smart choice taking out Ornstein first, Smough is so much easier when powered up especially if your playing a faster character. I chose to do it with a shield even though I could have stripped down and ran around, took over an hour.
@roast187exp Dayum! Yeah, I've been getting in the comments that it wasn't a breeze with a shield, either.
Although I'm happy I did it the correct way according to my playstyle, I'm now curious what items I would have gotten, and what would have happened if I had killed the big guy first =)
@Azguul Main difference is the soul you get. You killed Smough last so you get his soul which I believe can be used to make a giant hammer. If you killed Ornstein last you would get his soul and the ability to make his weapon, either a sword or a spear that can shoot lightning, cant remember which but fairly good. From what I read Ornstein's weapon is better. Also later in the game a new vendor shows up just outside of the Firelink shrine who sells full armor sets of the boss you kill last.
Nice job killing those guys at the end. But don't think its a walk in the park just if you have a shield. You can't block Smoughs attacks, and Ornsteins drain so much stamina. You had the right tactics from the start: Roll-dodge and attack when they are separated. The mean thing is, the AI knows which one you go after and if one is below 50% he hides more and does ranged attacks more often.
@abchallo01 I see! One thing I noticed in Demon Souls and I'm starting to think in Dark Souls is that my playstyle, while it almost seems un-viable to complete levels, it -does- seem to handle most boss fights pretty well.
Then I talk to Mark and he fills my head with stories of fighting bosses with ease, laughing as he recounts how he didn't even have to try as he sat there tanking with this shield. I guess my opinion is a little skewed =)
@abchallo01 But, but, the chest requires a strength of 90 which even divided by 1.5 is still too much for Azguul to handle. Okay, now we're bordering on silly, I'm sorry ;-)
you did it , great job on those two very hard bosses

Ah good job not killing smough first, if you do, well the fight is twice as hard as it was the way you did it.
TheWrightDude 1 month ago
@TheWrightDude killing smough first is actually usually alot easier as a melee, because the AoE is smaller on orenstein.
Then again Azguul got REALLY lucky on the second part of this fight since smough didnt AoE a single time, this fight is normally much more difficult.

Congrats on beating those two with no shield! I saw a comment in your last video saying you couldn't do it, and you made them eat your words!
