  • Nice playing...I like the HDNight version in this....always wondered what the opening chord was....I've got a 91 160e ...used to belong to the guitar player in the tribute band American English who is now in Liverpool Legends.....little beat up but still .....the sound!....thanks for your posts .....they're great!

  • ahh...but didnt John always play D major with the F# on top???

  • No, he used to do that when using the D shape to play other chords, especially E, where he would fret XX6454, as in I´m Happy Just to Dance With You

    But he played D major as it really is... you can see it on many live videos

  • I meant to say other people always play this song with the full bar chords. You nailed it.

  • Wow you are the only one I've ever seen who has manage to play the chords exactly as John plays them in A Hard Day's Night. Please always play this with other chord configuration. Great Job.
