This is my fav recruitment mission in the game. The atmosphere, the visuals and this part of the soundtrack... utter perfection. First time I played it, I couldn't put into words how flawlessly sci-fi this was. And who the heck is this assassin! I kept thinking. Then I got to the bridge, wind blowing and all... Jaw dropped. I love sci-fi synthesized electronica and this is the best!

@LINKchris87 It helps to keep an eye on the target's krogan bodyguard. Don't move around hastily, especially when there's a point where you won't be able to see the target for a few seconds. Just try to focus on the target and it should be fine.

- Don't do any loyalty quests (well you have to do Jacob's and one other I think, but do as few as possible)

- Don't put Tali or Legion in the tech role

- Don't upgrade your ship whatsoever

- Don't make Garrus, Jacob or Miranda fill any leader roles

- Make Kelly and the doctor go back to the ship on their own

- Don't put Samara or Jack as the biotic to do the barrier part

If you donh't do them then they generally either get killed or get people killed. Like if you have an unloyal biotic for the barrier bit then a team member will be dragged off. Loyalty missions are important if you want the achievement for saving everyone.

@deaconkris You can have at least one teammate that is not loyal. In the suicide mission you have to take that unloyal teammate with you on the second part right before the big boss. Then you can switch to all loyal teammates again. I did this by mistake lol, I guess you have to show the unloyal one that you care

@sejko Every teammate must be loyal. You have to choose the options correctly too, as in, Jack can't lead the distraction team, or Grunt can't hack the doors at the beginning. But on my second playthrough, I let Miranda be unloyal for kicks(I got perfect first time through. If she's with you, she'll die right before the end. If she's not, she'll die for some reason.

@OoopMAXqooO Thats because they satyed with other team members that were loyal. Those keep them alive. Never take an unloyal teammate into the final fight. They always die. In my first game Jack died because she wasn't loyal and i took her into the fight. My next game, everyone lived. Its in the May edition of GameInformer. How to keep all your team members alive. Tells you which to choose at this part and who not too. If you have 2 or more left at the end, shepard lives. 0 or 1 and he dies.

The biotic field mission against the swarms thing? If she was not loyal then she should of tired up by falling down to the ground at the end of the mission by being unable to escalate the biotic field against the swarms. After that happened, one of your teammates should of been taken away by the swarms AKA getting killed by the swarms. And in your case, whoever maintained the biotic field MUST of been loyal if she survived this.

These missions ARE NOT "optional". They're part of the main story as well. But Bioware had gave us the ultimate freedom in this game by letting us decide rather or not if we want to accomplish them. ( Just as if it was in real life )

Then you will HAVE TO DO THEM LOYALTY missions. ( Not optional )

These missions only become "Optional" two missions after your crewmates get captured by the collectors though.

So in simple theory, you'll always end up by having to do either 2 or 3 loyalty missions at least.

@metalnat28 Except the main storyline marches on regardless of whether or not you did the loyalty missions. Having Shepard die is one possible ending to the main storyline. It's a branching narrative. The loyalty missions are optional in that the game can still reach a climactic finish without them. You are getting "good" ending and ending mixed up. So no. Once again. For emphasis. You do not have to do the loyalty missions to finish the game so they are optional.

You're actually right now to a certain degree.

Remember though, after the IFF mission you're actually FORCED to do two missions in between the IFF mission and the Joker mission. Which is where you're with no other option but to do at least two loyalty missions. And after the Joker's mission, this is where the loyalty missions really become optional if you haven't done any of em before the IFF mission. Kinda hard to express but at the end, you have to do at least two loyalty missions.
