  • @cuteSTARGIRL15 no one knows exactly.

  • Ûhm_AÑÿ_gÚýs_wàÑt_tò_chÅt_wÍth_mè

  • stanislawski,meyerhold und grotowski alle Jahundertkünstler(s)

  • Love it!

  • i dont get the 'shooting from the bow' :(

i cant see how it fits with its description...

  • @pixelated111 You should see Gennadi do it. This particular performance is not as specific or as precise as I understand it as being. It is hard to understand - the videos here were done a long time ago (comparatively). You have to remember Meyerhold was killed in 1940. Since then, his principles and system were kept secret for a long time and students only continued his work through photographs and memories as they were worried they too would b killed for continuing his work...do some research

  • muy bueno!

  • The bow and arrow! I had a lecture at uni that made us do this for AGES! I think they do it better in the video!

  • @francescacarey where they do it? its very hard for me to percieve :(

  • can anyone pls kindly explain for me what happened in this video? thanks a lot :)

  • I meant the first one and a half mins :D

  • this is one of a series of individual or group exercises, which were all performed to a pian accompaniment. It was part of Meyerhold's theory of 'biomechanics.' In his school, which was short lived, it was required as a daily one-hour activity. Hope this helps!

  • ok thanks a lot ^^

  • Yes.

  • I watched a play recently in Melbourne and the entire last act was in Meyerholdism. It was absolutely amazing :)

  • yeah lol was it realism? i saw that at mtc last week =)

  • haha did you have to see it for theatre studies?

  • That production was exquisite.

    I'll never forget seeing that.

  • is there a next bit? where can i see the entire demonstration?

  • Thank you so much for making this extraordinary footage available.

Do you notice how similar the etudes are to Nijinksy's choreography? I wonder what the connection is....

  • This is a video from MIME CENTRUM in Berlin!!!

Do you have the rights to show it here?

The word for the preparation is DAKTYLOS.

Eu fiz vários cursos de Biomecanica com o Gennadi Bogdanov em Berlin e dei um curso em Sao Paulo em 2006 no teatro Fábrica.

  • The preparation is called "dactiros" is when Bogdanov clap twice the hands. Is a greek word, is a preparation before the exercise. This information I took it from LLuis Masgrau from the Odin Teatret in a seminar at México City.

  • Asi es yo también tome el seminario del Odin en México, sumamente interesante y los cursos, en efecto se dice dactiros. Saudos Gabriel

  • isn't it dactylos, with the "L"?

  • otkas. Posyl. Stoika.

  • « Au théâtre, il n'y a pas de techniques interdites, il n'existe que des techniques mal utilisées » (Meyerhold)

  • (pssst...)

  • poor comment

  • @ruzickaw haha. What you say is like saying that actors of the traditional japanese theatre are bad actors only for the reason that they don't act in veristic styles but based on a own system. thats what meyerhold is about. The movements should not copy the movements of the real world because the target is a ostentatious body-language.

  • @Windkind0 I am not in favor of a realistic acting style either, like " real life". That is boring.

But a highly stylized acting like in most asiatic theater like India and Bali and Japan is also boring.

They are more conserned with an exact traditional fozialized form than with expressing some inner truth.

And Meyerhold falls in a similar category.
