Awesome to see a kick ass band bringing an awesome song to the mtv crowd! They could've done a more 'PC' song, but they chose the 'in your face' awareness song and I think it's fucking FABULOUS! Actually, he isn't vegetarian. He and the rest of the band are all vegans; which is a far more in-depth and involved lifestyle choice than vegetarianism. They deserve the recognition for all they do, and what they bring to the masses who otherwise would have no idea.
Vegetarians don't eat meat at all. Vegans use absolutely NO animal biproducts, ever. No dairy, meat, leather, products testd on animals, anything that was made from, tested on, or somehow exploited an animals. They live a 100% cruelty free lifestyle.

They aren't sellouts. Just because they're playing on MTV does not make them sellouts. If they have a message to spread, they have to spread it to the uninformed, not the choir -- One reason why they played this on MTV

If we look past your ignorance and read the lyrics it's about globalisation and the fact they are singing it on MTV adds to globalisation.

i agree that once you play on mtv, that usually means you've soldout. however i did like how they didnt try and appeal to the masses. he could ahve easily not jumped around and focused on signing. most people at home would be "like wow this sounds like shit" "why are they destroying their instruments?"
so i guess they went about doing MTV in the best way possible...they fucked around basically :)

People how about everyone just sticks to their own beliefs? People will not stop eating meat. And people won't stop being vegetarians no matter what they are told. It's slightly humorous to see everyone getting mad at each other because they feel differently about something. If you believe people shouldn't eat meat, Then don't eat meat and don't push it on other people because other people have the same right to eat meat than to not eat meat. What is truely cruel is what Japanese do to doplhins.

If you were raised away from meat, and then discovered that people eat meat in your adult years, the first reaction would be "Fucking hell, you eat another animals FLESH?"

What the fuck difference does it make how long people have eaten meat? Wrong is wrong, regardless of timescale.
You ignore the cruelty animals face every day of their lives, or justify that cruelty by saying that meat is full of protein, conveniently ignoring the fact that there are sources of much more protein (such as soya or mycoprotein) that don't require that we kill another sentient being.

If you want to eat meat, just be aware that you are ordering the death of another living, thinking animal. It's not your life to decide, what gives you that right?

its funny how ppl (probably like you) always try to acociate animal cruelty with slaughtering and the meat industry.
Lets take the cow for instant.
It gets to go free and eat grass n stuff untill it's getting to old to produce milk at a certain speed.
Then, they put the animal to sleep before killing it, they dont skin them alive, cut of their feet and let pigs eat them alive.
They live a life, wich they probably dont even understand, and then die (like we humans do).

Free-range cows get to go free, if you can call being kept in one field for its short life free. Even then it is still killed needlessly. They aren't getting too old to produce milk. They are biologically exhausted from being kept permanently pregnant in order to produce milk.
But the wide majority of cows are factory farmed, kept in boxes without room to move and force-fed soya protein, the majority of which is turned into greenhouse gases, very little becoming meat protein. (cont.)

They have their horns cut off with bolt-cutters, sans anaesthetic. They are slit open and hung upside down to let the blood drain, often while still alive, or still pregnant from the last milk cycle.
And that's just the cows. There are tons of important films like 'Meet Your Meat' that provide evidence, not just rhetoric, about the way slaughter IS cruel.
And think, murder is wrong, isn't it? Well you've just acknowledged that these animals live life as we do. What makes that any better?

On the contrary Avslutarn, the funny truth is that in fact meat can cause IMPOTENCE. It can raise a man's chances of getting impotence by 60% This is very funny!
Since meat is very thick & filthy, it clogs the arteries & colons. Thus, this blocks the bloodflow. & then it especially blocks the bloodflow from reaching the testicles because of the small pathways for blood down there.

thats why us normal folks, just like vegans, need to keep what we eat in check. Balancing certain amino acids, and vitamins counter acts saturated fat and can clear your blood flow. so before you go and let peta make up your mind, think for yorself. PS. check up on peta's vp and president. one uses and animal based insuline and the other had a vein transplant from a MEAT pig.
