@vodkalust1 the jackles are mercinaries and the loyalists were the highest bidder. most of the grunts and hunter actually moved with the elites (although not played with in this game to avoid confusion) although a few left behind, grunt from fear of ther lives and hunters in fear of their home world. the drones remained loyal because the covenant have the opinion of the queens which spreads through the hive mind

Prophet of Truth? When he went to the Ark's control room, he was escorted by the few brutes not already locked into war with the elites and humans. You take down 2 scarabs and a pretty large covenant platoon just to get to him, and fight through dozens of brutes (with the aid of the flood) to finally meet up with him. By the time you actually get to him, he's all alone, so it's pretty easy for the Arbiter to finish him off with a quick sword stab.

Everyone says Halo 3's campaign was weak, but besides some weak lines, and compared to most other singleplayer shooters, I still think this game was fucking epic. No, it wasn't on the same caliber as the first Halo, but there sure were some moments that really made you proud to be a Halo fan.

Unfortunately, due to Halo's popularity, it's developed a stigma with many "modern" gamers whose games don't get to share the spotlight. Many people who have never even touched the game consider it "overrated", and "unoriginal" (which is funny, because I can't think of a single game today that plays like Halo). They also generally have never played the first Halo games. As a result, they go into Halo 3/Reach with a predisposition and no knowledge of the story, and they hate it.

I really expected a lot more from Reach. Yes, it was a nice fun game, but I expected to actually like the characters and feel for them when they died. It's a hard feat to make people care in a 5-6 hour FPS campaign, but I put trust in Bungie. Unfortunately, it's just not that great. The gameplay and level design are fine, but I really don't care about what happens in it. I still love Reach for what it is, but yeah... there you go.
