@cheerfu11 It might have been a stupid thing to say, especially as I think imagination can be "artificially" enhanced just as intelligence can. It was meant as a way of conveying that virtual reality can enable the most amazing things, but it might have been a stupid formulation. That being said, what I said was: "Our imaginations will be our only limit, if any". Now that´s not really true either, as I can imagine several things that cannot be done through this technology exclusively.
@cheerfu11 I think we all have limited imaginations, but that we also will be able to easily share dreams, ideas and works of creativity in the future.
@kel634 Thank you for your comment. I wont go fully into the validity of the idea of macines making smarter machines, but I would point out that we already are making machines that are smarter then us in some areas. Are the people who have made chess-playing computers better than any human as good at chess as their machines, or have they made algorithms for playing chess that they couldn´t have done in their own minds? Evolution can make smart from dumb, so why not smarter from smart?
@kel634 100 Einsteins can get a lot more work done a lot faster than 1 Einstein. Anyway, thanks for your comment, and thanks for taking time to watch the video! :)
@cordak80 They are very important for world progress indeed. And the more people know, the better we will be able to prioritize with this in mind. Thank you for your comment! :)
These transhumanists have no mathematical definition of consciousness, intelligence, good/bad, life itself. There's almost no transhumanist mathematicians. I'm not saying nanotech, a.i., and a whole bunch more(quantum computers, chaotic dynamics controls, and I've just found out about this femto-technology); but, bottom line, i think transhumanists are the nuttier side of contemporary intellectual life.
@oker59 Presently nobody has mathematical definitions for these things, but that doesn´t mean many of these concepts can´t be (more or less accurately) understood. Maybe some of us are a bit nutty, but I think we´re also right about many things, and I think others are wrong to be so conservative. Anyways, thank you for your comment! :)
I didn't complete a sentence - sorry. I meant to point out that yes nanotech and other futuristic technologies are coming; and, one way or another, this will all change humanity in numerous ways; but, how those things will change humanity, i think are naive and to straightforward.
I believe in science and technology; and i believe we will augment ourselves in some ways as straightforward as people think; but, I don't agree with just straight uploading oneself onto some nanocomputer.
@PraiseSermon Thank you for watching, and thank you for your compliment! I have a video called "Molecular nanotechnology: The second industrial revolution!" featuring only the part of this video that´s about nanotechnology.
thank you for making this video man, you really hit on all the key points that give me hope for the future. it's a bit sad that this message is often goes unheard or is ridiculed by proponents of the status quo, but i feel that in time, even they will fall in line as things start to come to fruition. keep up the good work
if this video intrigues you, then i must suggest that you read the last question by isaac asimov. it's available for free if you google it.

@matchbox555 It can. One of the ways it can is through virtual reality-technology.

@cheerfu11 Btw, it might be a dickish thing to say, but if your imagination is not limited in any way, why is your username cheerfu11? :P
