  • making the splitscreen vertical instead of horizontal is alot better

    player1 controls the upper screen

    and player2 controls the lower screen

  • @XxDahamonnahxX Screen is split vertically at the moment.

    Upper/Lower would be a horizontal split.

    Vertical split is left/right as shown in the video, with 99% of new monitors being 16:9 widescreen it makes more sense to do it left/right than to do it up/down.

  • @AnonNewsman It looks that way, doesn't it? It actually has an incredible combat engine. I don't know why they picked rabbits to ninja-fy, but it actually works perfectly. If they used people it would look weird.

  • @Alrold I've never experienced such a stable OS, and I have a shitty laptop; he probably works on a PC i couldn't even afford, so he should be fine. Plus, look at what he's acomplishing with it ;)

  • @Alrold Yeah, vista.....was so unstable, after one year of usage, my computer was unusable and it's moitherboard died. I had an old computer running windows xp, and given the shitty specs, it survived a relatively long time...Oh, other than windows? Briefly encountered Linux and did some computer classes on mac, it looked weird to me, but is by definition much more stable than windows in general, though windows 7 IS exeptionally stable if you don't strain it too much.

  • This is incredible. Are you going to have SDK support on retail? Def gonna get this. I would love to see AAA take some of your ideas (your attention to detail on blood effects, body physics, body animation, etc) and implement it.

  • Looks great. I just think the normal jump should be toned down a bit. Maybe the current jump could be a "super jump" that way you could still showcase the rabbit's jump power. The normal jump seems too floaty in my opinion.

  • I have a thing to say. yes, they don't jump off cliffs, but I think that there should be 50% chance to fall, and to not fall: they are not looking at the cliff behind them, and since they are distracted, they may fall.

    Maybe more like a 10% chance to fall, and have them stay a small margin away from the cliff edge (like real people would). Otherwise you could just "scare" all your enemies into killing themselves XD

  • @Cimmantti That's just the editor interface - the engine was built by David specifically for Overgrowth.

  • @Cimmantti I know nothing about programming/coding/development­, but I don't think there's any one 'program' you can use to create a game or engine (unless we're talking about something like RPG Maker).. you need a coding language, a graphics API, programs to model, animate, and texture objects among other things.

  • @Cimmantti A lot of it is probably done in Visual Studio, which is a programming "IDE," or Integrated Development Environment. But the more important thing is to know a programming language like C++.

  • It certainly looks a lot like C++, but I don't think these "0.0f" are legal in C++.

    This really helps me to understand the process of game making much better.

    You should really think about implementing dismemberment in the game.

    I haven't seen that in many games yet, but based on what you've done so far, I'm sure you could come up with a good way to do it.

  • The improvements to the AI are looking good! However the AI tends to back itself towards a cliff, which most (sane) people won't do. Perhaps the AI could shy away from large drops

  • With every new video this gets just more and more awesome. Can we have self inflatable pocket sizes wolverines to throw on enemy bunnies, and like steroids to make even bigger wolverines? Every bunny should have a rabid wolverine pet on steroids.

  • Will we be able to make a multiplayer games where one person is essentially a camera (and can screencapture on their computer) while other Player Characters are able to act within the level? I want to make Overgrowth Machinima!

  • @ThinkTankerMeeks I'm sure there will be eventually. It's too early into the alpha to assume though. They already made it so you can make custom gestures and movements (and the text-to-animation), so it would be probable in due time.

  • will someone please help me out here im probably just being a dumbass but... i have preordered and downloaded the alpha, but everytime, right before a level is about to load, the game quits and doesn't give any sort of explanation. the last version of the alpha i downloaded was 144 i think and im using mac os x 10.5.8 on a laptop, also i have lugaru witch works fine

  • What I was trying to say is that if two guards meet eachother and start to have a conversation it would be easy to sneak past them, I couldn't say this because I ran out of letters.

  • You should make it so that when you are holding a weapon, like the big sword, the enemies will stay a few feet away from you, because they're afraid of you. And when they are going to attack you they only try to do it in a safe way, like counterattacks. If there are multiple enemies they should surround you and try to trap you. You should also add some dialog between two guards, imagine two guards patroling meet eachother and they turn to eachother and start having a conversation, and sneak past

  • @meantism It's a sequel to fighting game called "Lugaru", which was fairly great. You should go look things up before spewing out crap. Trust me, it works better that way.

  • @meantism The word you're looking for is ALPHA. The game mechanics and assets are still in production, and story/objectives are fairly far in the future. Don't criticize a game that's unfinished.

  • @meantism They're currently in the Alpha stages, meaning they're currently building the system, and when its done, objectives, story, characters, etc. will be able to be created and defined within the system. Rome wasn't built in a day.

  • @fighterpiolt1992 It's not open-world. They do have a city map and multi-player mode, though, which would be interesting to stage a team deathmatch of sorts in. As of now you could just put enemies in there and be a one-man army.
