Going through and reading the comments like I normally do, it still amazes me that you others still tend to criticize. When I see a tight step, partywalk, chant, etc. I give credit when it's due! We hop like the Ques, step like the Alphas, and use canes like the Kappas blah blah blah! Grow up dummies!

The good thing is, over time each organization has developed traditional steps to distinguish themselves, even though this keeps getting more blurry as the years pass with different media, auxiliary group members that change course, and things like youtube.

This is History, you really want to know it, don't take my word or anyone's word for it, talk to the elders (people that pledged before the 90's, the older the better) in your and Other fraternities and sororities and then actually listen.

I didn't get upset (didn't curse, didn't call any poster out) but I did want to share some knowledge with some that clearly don't know their history, just propoganda. I am just disappointed with others getting upset (fighting and cursing at each other and using incorrect information as their defense for doing so) and even going as far as telling other Greeks (who are grown adults by the way) what they can and can't do! Would any of our Founders act this way or were they men and women of Truth?!

Deltas learned from the Ques.

AKA's learned from the Alphas who weren't the first steppers but were the first Black Greek Org.

SGRho's learned from the Kappas who don't claim them.

(Note, sigmas used staffs and Tall canes before Kappas, Ques twirled (military twirled weapons long ago) before you, but they let that go, Kappas then starting using the shorter canes that we see nowadays).

It's not that easy a question to answer. What's your personality like or what personality traits would you like to develop. What Greeks do you know on your campus and which ones can you relate to, who does the most positive things for the campus and each other? Have you had any role models in your life that were greek? Answer these questions and research for yourself and the answer will come to you.

Sigma's steps came from the influence of their actual African (who do hop) members (african step anyone) who used staffs and did african style chanting.

Ques "marches" not "hops" came from the influence of their military members (fatigues anyone), hence the stressing of high knees and drill type motions and chanting.

Then its simple imitation is the best form of flattery, so get over yourself and keep innovating, as Greeks have always done.

If you were to go by who was the first Black Greek Lettered Organization then you would think Alphas started stepping in 1906 but you would be wrong, no frats or sororities were stepping in the 1900's, 1910's or even 1920's.

Actually, Sigma's and Ques are the only ones that can even be in the discussion about who originated stepping because they initiated two different styles that have been meshed over time to what we have today.

OK, Bruhz is a term that's been used to death by Ques in recent times but it wasn't originated by them and doesn't mean Dog (where's this definition), it's a just a shortened version of "brothers" no matter how you spell it, all fraternities focus on brotherhood, look up the definition "fraternity".
