what would happen if you maximize the area of contact for the processor chip, by submergin a noctua grill on to nitrogen or helium? The heatpipes should double up the contact and spred the "heat" just like with air cooling? Right now, you are only cooling the copper with the few millimeters of nitrogen that keeps it cold on contact basicly... just a theory. :)

@asillynoob yes it is you just have to drink lots of buzz cola and piss on the motherboard/cpu to ensure the temp stays acceptable. With 3 or 4 guys all taking turns you can easily get up to 7-8 ghz.

The reason ln2 is used is for a few reasons. The first being that to get overclocks as high as these guys your probably heading towards 2volts(1.125v being around the standard voltage), around those voltages without substantial cooling your chip would shoot past 100*c and cook itself. Also electrons flow through metals alot better at sub-zero temperatures making the CPU clocks more stable enabling them to benchmark.
