  • 8 buttons or 6 buttons for games like umvc3?

  • @dannycsn it's preference thing TBH...I know players who use both for UMVC3..I use 6 for all my fighters

  • Hey I'm looking to buy my first arcade stick to play UMVC3 on, is this good for the game? And where is the cheapest to buy?

  • @siglosgab yeah it's good first starter stick...as for where to get it cheapest...well try amazon, ebay, places like that..I got mines at toy r us LOL

  • I bought this stick over a year ago on Amazon for $45, and it still does the job. I previously owned and used a MadCatz SF4 TE stick which was good also. I broke the TE out of frustration and there was no way I was gonna use the hand held Xbox controller to play my fighting games, so I got the Hori EX2. It's a great stick, and buying a $150 stick MAY help u play better because of the faith in it, but the Hori EX2 is a good stick to me. I have won and lost the same amount of fights regardless

  • I got mine for 45 brand new in the box

  • Hey, I'm a controller user considering using a fight stick for the newly announced VF5 Final Showdown. I like to know would this be a good fight pad for a beginner such as my self?

  • @NicholasToras01 Yes because this is stick a beginner stick. IF your serious about transition to stick , this stick will allow you to experience the arcade experience without breaking your wallet. think of it like this, When many new drivers start learning how to drive, they first cars are always some shitty POS but later on, they become more experience and they get a much better come. it's the same thing with arcade sticks :)

  • Worth the investment if I want to play BlazBlue without sucking balls?

    The controller is fucking awful...

  • @BrainfoodVlogs Well Like I said it's not a bad stick, its get the job done but once you get accustom to it, your gonna want something better, Your gonna outgrow it. If your BB Casually, then I say go for it, But if you want to play more competitively, eventually your gonna have to upgrade

  • Could you replace that pic with EX 2 and put in a new picture?

  • @OmegaReborn32 YEs you can. there is art template for it. I seen some people mod these stick with art so it is possible

  • on SF4 that is.

  • Just wondering will this work on PC?

  • @TheSquishypig Well I believe it does work on PC but From what I read there are some complications like needed extra drivers and third party programs to make it work. From what I remember it's a pain in the ass to use this stick on PC

  • Also, I wanted to know if there is a good fight stick controller for the PS2 to play Guilty Gear, SNKVC, CVS2, etc...

  • Ok I'm sure many ppl have asked these questions already but since I'm too lazy to go and search all the comments I'm just going to ask this anyway. I have a lot of experience with fighting games, especially MVC, CVS2, Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, etc... on arcade-style fight sticks, but this will be the first one I'm buying for my x-box 360. Which one would you guys recommend that can be used for Super Street Fighter 4 as well as other fighting games? Plz help.

  • @psychobutterflyZ Like I have stated before, this stick is more of a beginner stick because eventually you'll out grow it. Being that you play many fighters, I'm gonna suggest you get a Mad Catz Te stick. I suggest because you can mod it with a MC Chuthulu PCB that allow you to play on all most all systems. I would also suggest getting a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX or VX do the same thing. This way You'll have one solid stick for all your fighters

  • How durable is it?

  • @GirugaMarc Sorry for late replay: Yes It's Durable, I gave it a beaten when I owned, Put it through alot of hours of use

  • @ShadowEclipse99

Haha, I'm actually glad you replied late. I got a HRAP3SA instead for $90.

  • 0:10 " i know it's a small but it's a great stick"

    thaaaat what he said

sry, i am easy to amuse, good review btw. I settled with an HRAP3 and modded the hell out of it. dual mod on its way. huuuraah

  • What would you suggest for MK9 stick wise? Dont want to pay huge amounts but i do want a decent stick!

  • @Meloveyou1238 Well It's possible to play MK on a Japanese style I wouldn't do it because MK was never played with Japanese style stick. IT has a different layout. What I can suggest is buying a Mad Catz Te stick which are very affordable now and purchasing the Mad Catz Kombat Panel Layout which will allow you to have a MK layout on your te stick. The Panels are interchangeable so you will be able to switch back and forth for non MK games

  • @ShadowEclipse99 Cheers for the info buddy, seems to be rare as hell in the UK. Cant even find someone selling them for less than 300 with a quick google search :s Sure something will pop up with a more comprehensive search, thanks again :D

  • @ShadowEclipse99 I just googled Mad Catz Te stick and all the products at the top of the page are over $100. There is a stick that is meant for the MK9 game that's in the Katalog for $120. I was wondering if there was a fighting stick that's good for MK9 that's about the same price range as Hori Fighting stick EX 2?

  • @dmkchamp The answer would be no. Until Now Mortal Kombat has never had an official retail stick before.Yes you can play mk with the hori fighting stick ex2 but IMO it feels a bit weird. MK stick have always been custom made because there button layout is only for MK unlike the Japanese style sticks that can be used on varied games

  • Nice attempt at a review. Im looking at this or a 8 button stick.

    Thanks

  • Should i buy this?

Im considering getting this but im not sure do you think its a good idea for me to buy this?

  • @Gabubowser Well here's the thing: this stick is a good beginner stick but eventually your going to outgrow it. This stick is not meant for the long haul but it can withstand it. When I did this review, at the time, arcade sticks were getting hot and no one had them but now the market is flooded with them so you do have more choices now I can tell your not sure about this stick but I had no problems with it and I had it for a year. It's good stick but eventually your gonna want something better

  • @Gabubowser If you're a pro fight gamer then I wouldn't recommend this stick. If you are new but extremely dedicated in playing your fighter games and practicing to get better then again I wouldn't recommend this stick. For both of those options I would recommend the Mad Catz Round 2 Tournament stick as it is probably the top leading stick on the market. It costs around $149.99 retail. If you're on a low budget and don't plan on spending too much time on fighting games then get this stick.

  • I had the DOA Hori... I hated that Hori-ble stick! Too light... too cheap. But like u said... for what I paid... it was worth it in comparison to playing on a pad.

  • Hows the voice chat because I heard that it can be a problem.

  • @rlbd708 Well In the time frame that i own it( a Year) I did not have any voice chat issues

  • @ShadowEclipse99 Can a mic with a puck like the older mics for 360 work for it I am getting it at toys r us so does it come with a adapter or does it just work on its own?

  • @rlbd708 Well the Mic that I use is one of the motorola NFL head coach mics. I bought that mic before I bought the stick and it work well with it. It did come with an adapter that was similar to the puck your referring too. I don't really see in issue with it because the prongs on all the adapters are the same. I have not seen one that was different.

  • are... are you recording this on your phone?

  • @stiqman no lol this Vid was record via a Webcam and a makeshift Headset Mic. Believe me I didn't want to record the vid this way but I had no choice

  • my x button got messed up and i opened it up and it seems to be unfixable

  • Well if the button is unfixable. There is 3 options:

    1) You could mod the Ex2 with Sanwa Parts and then you'll have quality stick. from your comment I can't determine whether it's the button itself or the PCB

    2) If don't care for the ex2 then get try to get your hands on a TE stick. The Round 1 sticks are cheap now. On ebay you can get them for $90 now

    3) Get an SE stick and mod it with sanwa which is a pretty easy mod to and then you'll have a small TE stick

  • nice review i just bought it! and now i cant wait start playing fighting games or arcade games with it, its also my first stick too

  • can you change the ball on this stick

  • Yes You can. The Hori stick will Accommodate sanwa ball tops and bat tops as well

  • hey thanks, ive been checking ebay for a bat top, dont suppose you know of any sellers do you please?

  • pls answer my question im a tekken player... can i do ewgf here.. or ill jus buy tournment edtion cause its fuking expensive goshh

  • Ok.....Well If you played tekken on a arcade stick before then doing the EWGF should be possible however I'm not that much familiar with the Tekken. Will this Stick work with Tekken 6? yes it should. If buying Tekken 6, I believe one of the Bundles of Tekken 6 comes with an arcade stick So it's up to you if you want to get it or not. And it is up to you if you want to get the Tournament Edition

  • thnx bro but do u have the street fighter SE edition... and wht do u thnk is better? ex2 or the madcatz SE thanks...

  • No I do not own an Se Stick however I do own 2 Te Sticks and an Arcade in a box Stick. comparing to the SE I would say in Unmodified Form The Ex2 is better however the SE is So Much easier to Mod with Sanwa parts then the EX2. If you get the SE and buy the parts to Mod it You'll have small Version of the TE stick and it would still be cheaper then the TE stick. The Ex2 is good for beginners but eventually a player outgrows the stick and moves on to higher quality arcade stick

  • great review ill probobly buy this since i cant afford a TE XD

  • For $60 it is a great stick however if you truly want a TE, Just wait til the new Second Round TE sticks come out. as right now Some online vendors are selling TE Stick for $100. I was able to get another TE stick for $96. it's just a matter of patience but Like I said Shop around online and you can catch those specials. XD

  • thx

  • The guy is right in the video. For 60 bux, this is an amazing stick. It's the first arcade stick I've played on (I dont have years and years of experience, but I bought this like 2 or 3 years ago and I love it) Good Review

  • Arcadeinabox is just a custom stick, you can build your stick however you want it and the funny thing is I'm using an ex 2. I just need to play on higher quality parts.

  • Well From what I read on SRK they say that this stick is not easy mod. since I'm not a modder or have the patience for that, hence me buying this stick. I like this stick and the PS3 version. I do understand wanted to play on higher Quality. when I decide on AIAB. I was able to test out the stick at a Tournament but this stick was an all Swana stick and I was blown away by it so I place my Order.

  • Sweet review! Tempting to get but...I can't stay away from the pad xD

  • Just remember this is always an option after you reach your limit on the Pad. Trust me it happen to all of us.

  • Ex 2 is garbage, either get an se and mod it or get a TE stick or a custom with sanwa parts.

  • I have an Arcadeinabox Stick on the way. There is no other stick that can compare to arcadeinabox stick, If I do get another stick maybe I'll get a TE but More then likely I'll get another arcadeinabox stick. I don't need a TE stick at the moment collecting dust because I only use the ex2 when I play against my friends at there houses. I play on the ps3. I don't have SF4 for the 360 and I won't buy it either. I don't need to waste money unless you want to get me a TE Stick and a 360 copy of SF4.
