  • nutnfancy playing paintball rock on

  • gas and food and permits(if nessary)

  • Thanks so much for uploading these. Beautiful scenery, and good information!

  • NUTN FANCYS NEVER ENDING SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT SURVIVAL TOOL

  • at 06:17 I looked away and looked back and for some reason thought he was sawing his arm xD nice vids!

  • The story of "Mad Dog" Shriver was & still is 1 of the best. He's alive. We all know it ;)

  • So, then WD-40 keeps sap off the blades in general?

  • elm is a pain in the ass to split wallnut is nice i know cuz my back yard is full of it

  • This video is nice besides the review. It shows the bond of friendship. EXCELLENT.

  • 15:00

  • Need a review of buggetnusters bracelet!

  • wow it doesnt seem like a year since i watched this series.... enjoy it u guys keep it up =)

  • "If I had no job, completely free time on my hands and money to pay the bills"

Well, I think we'd all like to find ourselves in that position so we could go backpacking every day of our lives Nutn! :P

  • I wonder if they had a permit to cut those logs......after all you need one. Good Gawd they are not following the LAW! Good gawd what a slight of the LAW! They are going all out wrol in the hills!!! Run for your lives and and take your tacticool molle gear with you! It's what you have always wanted!!!!

  • will nutn do a review on the new coldsteel leatherneck

  • hey I know you don't use lighters much but when you do try the bic ones...they are slightly better than those clear ones.

  • would be cool if you and bear grylls could go out camping some day. no not like a discovery thing. more like a TNP thing

  • @Petegrin1 yep ... bear would be like .hey nutn wanna eat some maggots ? Nutnfancy: no thanks but do you want some popcorn and watch some actionmovies .. i brought a tv.. ;)

  • I love my Outcast but beware: the tip of the handle, including the lanyard hole will break easily if you use the knife hard. I phone Kershaw and they're willing to send me a new knife but I just glued the tip to the handle and wrapped the whole thing with McNett camo. This is not 100% full tang, but only 5-6 mm short of being so.

It's a great chopper with no chips so far. It splits ok. It didn't do so well in this video because it faced the toughest log right down it's centre.

  • i love you <3<3<3<3<3

    thanks for that impression :))

wish i had that freedom and landscape...

    school..........:(

  • Wish I could do this, Holland is just too populated :(

  • @martijntini i wish we would have mountains like that in estonia. i would go on hiking trips like that all the time. and theres nowhere to practise firemaking, survival stuff etc.

    Sucks :(

  • You said that the SOG Seal Pup arrived dull, and I've been reading a couple of reviews that say it's too small and the handle sucks.

Is there a tactical knife in the same price range that is pretty much ubiquitously loved by knife enthusiasts? I was going to buy that one, but now I'm questioning it.

  • @Supermassively the elite??? its great came razor sharp and my favorite knife

  • I wish my dog could be that well-trained. She's a good dog, but if I brought her out there, she'd run off and we'd never see her again.

  • Heya Nutn. Been watching your videos for a while now. I had a question of survival knives, large variety. I'm currently using a Ka-bar Bull Dozier fixed blade for my loadout, and it' works alright, but it's a little small on the blade for what my needs are. My question comes to which blade you might suggest for a wood chopper/Machete, with light batoning capabilities. Been looking at the Kershaw Outcast, the Schrade SCHF9 survival knife, or a Blackhawk Tatang. Any Advice?

  • paintball is awesome fun!

  • whaat do u think about 8r13mov steel

  • I love your vids nutn, thank you so much for the taking the time and effort to put all of this together...peace out

  • 40:20 - Hell Yeah. I'm ready for retirement right now!

  • testing knives aside, i carry 2 large knives, one medium, and a small. ive had a large bowie fail on me. DONT GET SWAMP FOX BOWIES. it broke off at the hilt, the blade flew back and almost hit me in the eye, i have a small scar under the eyesocket and above the cheek bone. Ill also carry an axe, medium sized shaving sharp axe. Im gonna get a saw though.

  • @nutnfancy how do you feel about traditional snow shoes? I have a pair and love them but I also don't live in the rockies.

  • Frickin amazing saw man. I needs ta gitts me one 4 sure. Great Vid nutnfancy.

    Thanks

  • Hey, Just wondering, in a survival situation. do you think Allie could actually single handed kill a critter or bird for food, and is she trained to do so?

  • great set of videos

  • for battoning could u use a machete

  • I cringed when I say that D2 working away at that log. I would deffently not have a D2 blade.

  • Nutnfancy, I wish you enabled ratings so we could give you 5 stars!

  • these videos are so fun to watch

  • Man I love these videos. I really need to make more time to get out into the woods. My pup loves goin after suirrels too.

  • awesome series of vids. 7 out of 5 stars.

  • Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri 3 swings and that tree is history

  • whats the song in the beginning?

  • it called lovers' dance look for it on the list on the link that in the more info right click and save the file. there some other good open source song on there too.

  • I am thinking about trying a saw-vivor this season. Do you have the 15 or 18 inch and if you have the 15 inch, do you wish you had a little more blade? Or is the 15 adequate?

  • touche

  • Great comment, and one Nutn would agree with. He carried all those knives up there to test them for reviews, but it is not something he does when he's backpacking for fun. I think they even loaded Allie down with steel on this particular trip. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy i dont mean any offence by this but why are you answering his comment?

  • @ThePeckerwood310 douch bag hes testing them out so fuck off

  • Hahaha..and that's the way the marines say it! ;) -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy He's not a Marine. He's a kid who thinks it's cool to call himself a Marine Corps Sniper because he played one in a video game, when in reality, it's incredibly disrespectful.

  • After this goofing around I'm more convinced to collect the money for a large Busse and a lighter weight quality axe.

  • Hey Nutn, i love your vids, i learn a lot. But when you go in the woods with a good companion, you do lots of explanation about knives and survival stuff! Can you do vid about personal hygëne and building a proper latrine when your out there for some while inNature!!?? Also i would like to see you guys hunting small game and prepare it!!

  • so whats up with the ka bar heavy bowie it is up to snuff like if that was the only knife you could have in a survival situation it would hold up?

  • Stripes chill out about the tomahawk. Nutn does all this shit solely for us so just watch it and stop critcizing everything.

  • he takes knives to do review

  • Stripes, he takes knives up there to test them for reviews. He doesn't take a dozen knives up there when he's going backpacking for enjoyment. -- Veri

  • Stripes, he did complain about the weight, he and Bugget both carried the knives up there, and even packed the dog up with some knives. The only reason they take a lot of weight up there like that is to test items for future reviews. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy

Hmm, must've missed that part then. Eitherway, he should make a review of the SOG Tomahawk and test it out, maybe then he wouldn't need to buy new knives every now and then when they break like the RTAK II and Cold Steel Recon Scout. ;)

  • I couldn't swear to it, but I think he's got a couple of axe and tomahawk reviews in the works, long term -- Veri

  • Yeah, certainly they're just for demonstration for us. If I'm not mistaken, I think he said that he usually would take one large knife and a small knife, or something along those lines as far as amounts of blades go. Oh, and the trusty sawvivor.

  • Yep, he does love that sawvivor, you're right. -- Veri

  • what part of oregon are you guys in

  • hey nutnfancy i talked to tom from kershaw and he said that the d2 steel made the solid to brittle transition at 40 degrees below 0 not trying to be an AE but just putting it out there

  • hay nutn u need to do the review on the new seal pup. Correct me if im wrong buy i belive that AUS steels have the qualitys of stainless but its not actually stainless.

  • u must be loader with cash if ur just gonna beat the hell out of a 175dollar knife,, if i had a knife that cost that much i would never be used,, are u really campin or just doing a vid showin how to cut wood?lol

  • thats what i call campin,, i wish i could do that kinda stuff,, fuckin sweet man

  • funky intro

  • ugh man, i can't wait to move to the blue ridge mountains in south carolina. can't hardly do anything like this in florida

  • pretty scenery

  • Awsome vid keep them rolling in

  • Great video! Keep them coming bro!

  • yes,indeed still a very good vid

  • Could you and BuggetNuster wail on those blades any more than you did? That is what I call taking it to the limit! Don't know too many willing to do that to a precious blade. I appreciate the videos.

  • Hey, I noticed you fumbling around with you camera; it would not be a bad idea to invest in a helmet camera for your head lamp mount. Before I had one, I thought guys who did were "too gucci", but it changed my life. It was ideal during debriefs after missions. As long as you zero it, you can not got wrong. I would zero mine to around 25 feet and I never had a problem. Just a suggestion

  • I agree that kershaw outcast is a good blade. I`ve had a few. I have always liked D2. not my fav of course but in my top 4 steels depending on situation. I think tho that the fallkniven would chip out easier than the outcast, vg10 steel is greawt but i think would chip easier. but both great blades. also check out the fallkniven a2 wilderness knife if u havnt already. thanks nutn keep rockn

  • i love Allie she seems like a good dog. and love her squirrel attack word. BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY

  • is there going to be a pt.4?

  • Fourth time watching the High Skies series. I cant get enough!

  • Still a good vid

  • what gun do you recommend for someone who is trying to buy a handgun for the first time?

  • A visit in a good dun store and a lengthy talk to sb competent. They'll help you make a choice fitting your needs (what POU are you gonna use the gun in? what's your carry method gonna be? ...)

  • i'm just gonna tell u Glock 17...no i don't own one nor do i own any hand gun but i have heard good things about it.

  • Wow! Don't own, haven't shot, but I heard it really rox (in HalfLife :p) - now THAT is a recommendation... wow! :D

Dude, you don't even know what he's gonna use it for. No gun is perfect, you must chose according to your needs.

Even the otherwise exceptional G17 sucks when it comes to 24/7 concealed carry to give you an example.

  • sure it's bulky and not that great for concealed carry but, he was asking for a handgun for the first time. So i thought of the G17.

  • Yeah I really hope to see the conclusion to this series, I think it's great and reminds me of when I used to do similar hikes when I lived in Colorado. Screw the rating garbage the real fans of nutnfancy know this is awesome plus it takes a lot of time and effort to produce it at this level of quality.

  • i was truly enjoying these vids and waiting for the rest of it. This and the firemaking videos was a good change from all the other table top reviews. adds variety.

  • You play paintball:P

    That is aweosme :D

  • Oh headphones, he loved paintball til his knees went bad. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Does he know about Airsoft? awesome sport.

  • Oh yeah, he loves Airsoft too, but he and his friends played out in the boonies not organized tournies or anything. He knows that airsoft and painballers get mocked by gun enthusiasts sometimes, and thinks it is stupid. Trigger time is trigger time, plus its a lot of fun. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Watch out that the squirels don't run off with the WD-40, they also do knifereviews how to crack nuts. Don't forget to rate

  • I lol'd ^^ Those pesky squirrels...

    Great comment Gulden!

  • Gulden cracks me up. -- Veri

  • Insert smart ass remark I deleted after writing it here. Really? You never once stopped and wondered about something!? It had to be fed to you? Ooops and I wasn't going to comment.

  • At the end of the video ,i found the conversation between nutn and bugget very interesting and true. Take care of your health,go out and adventure. If you have no job,but you still can pay the bills(maybye temporaly wellfare of seeking a job - good luck never give up) go out and do something usefull instead sitting at home and feeling sorry for yourself - get motivated again. Don't have a car ? Your best transport your feet, bike bus or train and got to somewhere interesting, enjoy life Good luck

  • What type of wrap was around the handle of the SRK?

  • Athletic tape if I recall correctly. Nutn said something about athletic tape.

  • omg Allie is so cute :P

  • Dude love your videos Rock on! Your fellow civilian sheep dog.

  • hey nutn post part 4. get the fire going.

    thanks for the vids man!

  • yes we need more parts to this

  • Part 4! Part 4! PART 4!!

C'mon guys, chant! We'll get Nutn to release pt4, we only need to get him revv'd up ^^

And don't forget to rate, for crying out loud.

    Part 4!!!

  • I talked to him about this last night. He will get to part 4, but says, "..the 4.5 stars did cool me off. Good ratings motivate, mediocre ones don't. I will do it sometime tho." -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • What we (TNP supporters) need to do is, when the next vid is released, keep reminding fellow viewers to rate. Had HighSkies pt3 gotten 2500* positive ratings instead of not even lousy 800, it would've been invulnerable to any number of down-rating attempts.

BTW, who are those miscreants? Did Nutn cross some a'hole or is it pure spite?

(*) 2500 is only 10% of all its views

  • Its freakin annoying that some ppl rate this vid down. nutns out there doing this for us and people rate it down =( lame ass idiots! you know who you are

  • Nutn has his ideas but without any proof won't point a finger. Just YouTube crap. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • One thing about the ratings situation- I've rated two of Nutn's vids in the past 20 minutes and the Ratings count did not change after I added my rating.

  • I think it updates periodically, zacockpball. -- Veri

  • And thanks! -- Veri

  • don't take this the wrong way Veri cuz I'm a big nutn fan but I don't like the idea that nutn bases his video productions on the ratings he gets like this is a popularity contest or something. Like "you better rate me high or I wont make anymore". I think he should make videos for us people who really enjoy them and screw anyone who doesn't. I realize he wants his recognition but this youtube and there are a lot of "children" on here and you have to expect some negativity. 5* btw

  • Better than reality TV! I have been waiting for part 4,maybe 5? Keep up the good work Nutn. Thanks for your dedication to us sheepdogs and gear- product heads.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for all the work you put in to these. You obviously go the extra mile in terms of testing, and your reviews are well thought out, comprehensive and professional. I'm finding myself trusting your reviews and making great purchases from them. Love the sharing of your opinions / philosophies on our role as sheepdogs as well. Great stuff, ya rock dude!

  • Swoop - TNP = The Nutnfancy Project and thanks for watching! -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • the nutnfancy project

  • they already replied back

  • great vids!

  • airsoft and paintball r very fun sports

  • i for one love watching the high skies videos i have watched part 1 about 3 times and part 2 times i'll probably watch part 3 a couple times . all of his videos are great and i love watching them.

  • I'm making sure to give this 5 stars and show the love to the TNP!

  • Great vid nutnfancy, keep em comin, much aprecciated :)

  • When is part 4 going to be posted? It's been almost a week.

  • I don't think he's as eager to put the last part together because there has been a concerted effort to vote the other ones down... He's not really feelin the mojo right now. Right now, he can put together a 10 min knife vid and get 5 stars, or he can pour his heart and soul into another High Skies and watch it sink. Kind of disappointing. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Sorry to hear he is losing or not feeling the MOJO, but with everything going on in life right now, I don't blame him. I do have to say, I do like the videos he does put out, gives me a good idea of what is out new and what works and what doesnt!

  • @nutnfancy

That is definitely to bad Nutn feels that way, I think this video series is great! I pretty much watch all Nutn's videos, his reviews are excellent. But his adventure/shooting videos are awesome, makes a guy wish he was there doing that as well!

  • That's a REAL shame. Try and get him to change his mind -my Gran always said,"if everyone likes you then you're doing something wrong!"

The TNP harcore, like these more than the 'pure' gear reviews. If he need's a reason to do it then -THAT should be it.

Personally I felt the series just got better and better so I'm gutted if we don't get the final part. That would be a real fucking waste. I know from experience that its hard to finish a project when you loose the buzz but it IS worth it! :)

  • Pretty demotivating... I was REALLY pissed seeing both pt2 and pt3 of High Skies rated 4.5

Dudes, are you out of your minds? Never forget to rate, there are over 30K views and less than a thousand ratings. Just look how many crappy vids get 5.0 - if the heart, effort and great editing put into High Skies does not deserve 5.0, I don't know what does. Kinda feel sorry for you Nutn

  • Thanks jake. Very astute. Its easy to forget to rate, I forget it myself sometimes..but the a'holes who are trying to rate his videos DOWN never, ever forget. To say the least, demovitated is an excellent word to use. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Thanks for doing all of this, Nutn. I watch at night when I am back from my own dayhikes and don't plan on doing anything that day. Awesome.

And thanks for helping out, Veri. :)

  • Gamel - thanks for leaving time for us! Its great that you are getting out FIRST and then gettin online LATER.. You have your priorites right. I am working on that myself. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • I would recomend a Sig, there expensive but very acurate and reliable.

  • Beautiful Mountains

  • I just finished the 3rd part of this video and was kind of feeling sorry BuggetNuster for how much you were ripping on him ........ but then it hit me that when my friends and I are together .....we do the same ribbing .....thanks for taping your LIFE and reminding us all to spen more time with our friends outside by the campfire ...or in the garage wrenching

you have helped me reach out to family and friends and cherish the life i get to live with them

  • People say Paintball or Airsoft is for kids they have never obviously tried it, its great training and its straight up fun! and it helps you over come your fear of getting shot, like the first time i played, i was dug in behind a bunker for the whole game and then got shot, i didnt move because of the fear of getting shot but when i did i was like AH THAT DIDNT HURT and then I started to go all beat down on the other team and it ended up i didnt get shot, only when i was staying behind cover. =P

  • your vids rocks man, they get me inspired to go into the out of doors and take on new adventures. Please keep em' coming, no one does em like you thanks again--BP09

  • Mr. Nutnfancy I am getting a new firearm in the near future an Im trying to decide which one I want my budget is 1200 dollers please help

  • If you want an AR15... Smith&Wesson M&P15!!! $1,170 after tax. And I got 6 FREE MAGPUL P-MAGS WITH MINE!!! THE RIFLE IS GREAT TOO!!!!

  • Thank you I will look in to that but I was looking along the lines of a pistol

  • Well it all depends. You want a 9mm? Or a .45. Im a .45 fan to the core. I like to be sure I have all the stopping power I need. I have a Smith&Wesson SW1911. The 1911's are extremely comfortable with great accuracy and reliability... I recommend Colt or Smith&Wesson because they're American made Springfield is foriegn now. I belive Brazillian... I like my Smith better than the colt tho aswell. The new colts look alienish. HAHA

  • I never regreted buying my glock 17 9mm

RTF. And with your budget, you can get two

  • definitely gonna go get me a sawvivor

  • Personaly i would take a small hatchet and a knife and a sawvivor

  • nutnfancy, talk about what you take on your long hikes for food, other then protin bars

  • would totally love to know some of the food options Nutn takes with him on a 5 dayer, can never have too many food options in the backcountry, the same thing every time gets old!! thanx

  • He's got an extended stay series of backpacking videos (8 parts) that should cover this. I'm going to watch it myself again, and if it doesn't, I'll get back to you guys -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • lti12 - I had comp problems right as I told you I was going to look at these videos myself and didn't follow through. Did you find what you were looking for? -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Is part of the effectiveness of the Kershaw not just the length of the blade and the edge grind angle, but the forward curve of the blade? I remember reading about the physics of the Kukri blade design years back (but I can't find the magazine anymore).

    Feedback public individuals?

  • You know its great to see knives outside of their movie theater stereotypes.

Its good to see them used for what they were meant to be used for; to survive.

    5 stars, great vid.

  • veri- the music link is broken at the bottom of info area

thanks for all you do for TNP!

  • Good eye, thanks and fixed! =) Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Glad to hear you're a fan of paintballing! Aside from the tactical applications, it's a faboulous sport and very safe if proper safety rules are followed. And yeah, the only injury I've ever seen in my many years of play is one guy tearing up his knee on a slide....I don't recommend sliding. Great video man! Keep up the excellent work!

  • Is there going to be a part 4? I just watched all three in a row, and I really want to see what else you guys did. I feel almost like I was there. Awesome video, really makes me want to get out and do that.

  • I had on a Thank you blue bracelet everyday for 4 years until I went to the hospital after a 4-wheeling accident and they took it off in the ambulance and lost it!

  • Outdooring at its finest :)

  • Your videos are GREAT but I like your intros Alot more!

  • When I was younger I wanted a Kershaw Outcast really badly. I never did get one though.

  • Hey you guys ever read about operation trojan horse? When I read about it all I could think of is nutn ...

  • I know I got negged for this already but to be more specific I was reading about REX84 and came across a supposed part of it called "operation trojan horse" which fits nutns description to a tee!!! Im not suggesting anything either way but keep your minds open is all. I hope not though cuz Im a huge nutnfancy fan!

  • keep up the good work dude. Thanks for all the hard work and good advice. God bless all yall, all your freinds and family. Peace from the south.

  • i was about to say use WD40 to wedge the wood. it absorbs the wd40 and therefore promotes the burning :D

  • Awesome video as usual. You guys rock. I love your adventure type videos.

  • bushcraft question whats the purpose of stripping the bark offa the baton

  • It creates a harder surface. The bark will act sort of like a cushion. And I suppose technically it would slow your swing down as well.

  • you rock!!!

    5*****

  • No YOU rock! We love our guys on TNP, but we get all stoked up when we see our female viewers...welcome! -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Hey Nutn!

    Love your vids man!

Quick tip for you to minimize the handle vibration while batoning: slide a section of rubber bicycle inner tube over the handle.

It'll absorb shock, improve grip, and protect the handle itself. If you need to remove it, just slice it off.

    Give it a try :-)

  • Why can I picture him cannibalizing some bike to try this? ;) -- Veri

  • Mink Oil works great on any metal as far as rust goes. but it's a little thick .(kinda like cosmoline) but it works , and is fairly cheap.
