Overall, I would love for the judges to stop hammering the celebs because of choreography. They are not the pros. To give JR a 7 because of a "lift" is absurd. And to think that Chynna forgot her dance and had a meltdown and got 7s.
Anyone who disagrees, just watch JR and Karina's dance and tell me Ricki and Derek were better. JR got knocked because there was too much Lindy Hop. Isn't that better than NO JIVE???
Better yet, watch this dance again and notice the first time Ricki does an actual dance move. It's halfway through the dance.

But, that was two weeks ago so it's like eh...what can we do now? I don't think they've been that unfair for the past two weeks to JR (cept for CAI) so I wouldn't worry too much.
@whill1031 I think he should have gotten higher scores every week. Or let me say that another way... compared to others, he should have either had higher scores or they should have had lower scores. How can JR and David get the same score in any dance? That "If you're reading this" dance was magical. I've watched it about 30 times. So moving and so much bigger than just a dance. That alone should have gotten him higher scores. I do like Ricki. I think she dances with emotion and heart.
@astrose00 I will agree with that to a degree. I wouldve givev him one more point for his V.Waltz, he deserved at least one 9 for his Jive. I think his Rumba deserved three 9s, and I think his Foxtrot deserved three 9s. He's a really good dancer and hopefully he doesnt get totally ripped off score wise, I mean, just a few one point underscores is pretty normal with the judges, but that underscoring of his Jive was ridiculous. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.
This was not good at all. There was barely any jive content and Ricki did none of it. I can't believe the judges gave this higher scores than JR and Karina. They are really biased. The jive has been the kiss of death for older competitors and the judges let Ricki off the hook on this one. Terrible.

It's a cute routine and who doesn't love Hey Ya, but not enough jive content. Guess Ricki is the chosen one so they could get Derek back. Chynna was a more natural dancer and did more complicated dance moves. RIP Chynna's time on DWTS!
This didn't even look like a jive, IMO; can't stand derek hough. However, the judges - who should really be replaced and should have been replaced before last season - seem to think he can do no wrong.
It does not matter who is on top people always run them in the ground saying they have dance experience ect. I guess hard work does not count with you people. I think some people have rythm and some do not no matter what they do. Perhaps you people would be happier if they got people off the street. All stars have some sort of dance experience and it takes a good teacher to make them better. Dancing some 20 years ago last time I checked does not make you a dancer.....Just get over it.
What is up with this show always giving the good partners to derek? There are so many dancers who always suffer from getting horrible partners and yet derek gets the really good ones with all of the dance experience in the world. I'm just saying its not fair for the others, I mean they could have partnered ricki with one of the newer dancers but instead derek was the one who got her. No one, not even Derek fans thought Lil'Kim would make it far either. I honestly just think Derek's a good teacher.
@whill1031 Of course they know those people wud be good i mean jennifer was from dirty dancing, nicole dances in the pussy cat dolls, lil'kim dances in most of her videos, joanna krupa took ballet when she was a kid and ricki lake was in hairspray. I'm not saying that derek is a bad teacher but with partners that have danced before in their life will obviously make teaching a lot easier. Try pairing him up with kate gosslin and wendy williams and let's see if he can make them get 8s or 9s......

As for Joanna, most of the girls on this show took some form of dance when they were little, does that make them automatic good dancers? Debi Mazar took lessons too, was she good? The only one that really is a really experienced one is Nicole. Jennifer was in one dance movie over 20 years ago, and all that was camera faux. Marissa winokur was in hairpray too, but she was nothing special.
@sesen100 Between dancing something and dancing ballroom dances is a big diferens. So we all can dance more or less, some better than the other but the truth is that Derek is full of energy and gives it to his partners. If I could dance on DWTS I would also ask for Derek. I think that sometimes even his sister look a bit clumsy next to him. He is amazing (and I don't speak about how he looks like)!

Did not like this dance at all! Not enough jive, some raunchy moves and Derek really overdanced it. Ricki seems nice but this dance definitely did not deserve the highest score!

She & Derek had that special" naturally there" chemistry.that was so awesome to watch & so easy to get drawn to each single dance they did.It's incredibly amazing that Jennifer will forever be remembered as that most lovable & naturally talented celebrity in the history of DWTS!

In her defense producers choose what footage or clips to air.I have seen a lot of rehearsal, pre & post performance interviews that showed her & Derek actually having fun despite long hours of hard work.

She seems very sweet and humble but this is just the beginning. Most people don't see Jen as selfish,but just the opposite. She always gave Derek credit

Perhaps I'm biased. I saw "Hairspray" during a last day of school party back in 6th grade and then Ricki went on to be a talk show host that my fellow generation grew to like. Seeing her in probably much less than anything I've ever seen her in this clip, I was completely blown away. It takes a certain level of confidence to get out there. Plus, she looks like she's having fun. So it immediately took me back to her original Tracy character.
<3 Derek, would luv to root for him,however I vote for the most deserving celebrity regardless who they're paired with. The past week 2, I voted for JR! Am pretty sure he will continue to do well. He seems like a down to earth kinda guy who happens to be talented too!

I've seen judges overscore because they liked the contestant a lot but first time seeing them overssocre because they liked the pro so much. Man... I really want a pro that never won before to win this time. Derek is a great dancer no doubt but I'm sick of him getting good partners and hoggin the MBT. And getting 8s on this jive was just ridiculous. Even all 7s would have been too high.
I believe this jive by Rickie & Derek is just awkward, the moves that are intended to look sexy look way too awkward on Rickie.and she looks like she's trying too too hard to be adorable that sometimes comes across as superficial.
I keep reading all of these accolades regarding Derek. Well, of course, he's a great dancer, he's the professional!!! The main point is how Riki dances. She's the star, not Derek, and so far, we've seen wayyy too much of him and heard wayyy to much about him.
Derek & Ricki have great chemistry and I love the mutual respect they have for one another. They seem to be having a great time and she's loving every minute of this experience. Heck I don't blame. She's partnered with the best. Can't wait to see their Rumba! Go Derek & Ricki, Team #Drickilous!!
over scored did not deserve 2 8's and a 23 for me lacked jive content i disagree with carrie ann was not the best jive of the night so far there were better jives before her they got a 23 because derek is derek and the judges love them some derek hough i would have gave it at best a 21 and at worst 18 don't think there as good as the judges say they are for me hope jr china kristen rob are better but ricki will win cuz she has derek and as i said above the judges bow down to king derek.

@whill1031 for me it was over scored and it is not silly about derek be loved by the judges and the show when has he got a so so partner never i bet if the person who left this week had derek she would still be in the competition if he is that good of a pro why not give him someone like nancy or someone not that good as the others most other male pro's have gotten a so so partner at one point in the 13 seasons its been on not knocking derek but for once i'd like to him get a so so partner.
@bosox1589 Shannon was not good, she didn't even make the quarterfinals. Plus, they dont know who will be good and who won't, they just give out celebs according to who they ask for, height, and personality. One of the pros even said Joanna was given to Derek to act as that "so so" partner you are referring to, but Derek made her look good enough to make Week 9. Tons of people (including Derek fans) thought Lil'Kim was gonna be gone first, but we both know how that turned out.
I think that one of the past comments was right on!!! The chemistry between Derek and Jennifer Grey was very special and came naturally. In this case, Derek is trying too hard, the chemistry is just not there and he is overacting. Hopefully future dances will get better, but, my vote is for JR!!
I think Brooke is really jealous of the other girls who dance with him. I think Derek Hough is the best dancer in the world, ever, when he's dancing I never watch his partner, I can't keep my eyes off him!

IMO the Dirty Dancing moves ruined the dance. This jive made it look like Derek was outdancing Rickie Lake. I love Derek, he works hard on making his partner look good, but sorry to say, this just was awkward & kinda painful to watch
I guess I'm still comparing Ricki to Jennifer(I guess that's not fair), but I expected more from her. I just didn't care for this jive and she looked awkward sometimes. Derek did seem to dance around her. I do love Derek, but I think the best dancer with the most natural ability is J.R. The final three will probably be Chynna,Ricki,and J.R.
As the reviews said, wayyyy too much Derek and not enough Riki. She is the one to prove herself in her technique..we know that Derek can dance. And, let go of the weight issue, Riki!!!! You are there to learn how to dance. If you wanted to loose weight, why didn't you simply diet and work out at a gym?
Derek always brings out the best in his partners; he is SUCH an AMAZING dancer and chroeographer... and Ricki's wacky sense of humour and self-honesty is both refreshing and entertaining.... go team, go!!

This was a very fun, enjoyable Jive. I don't think this dance was really overscored as much as JR was underscored. Ricki was fun and flirty, and some of the steps were actually executed very nicely. Derek is awesome, but a little more content might have made it better received by many, more kicks and flicks (the few Ricki did were actually pretty good). Overall, one of the better jives of the night, but yea, JR blew everyone away for sure and was seriously underscored.
It was boring and hard to watch (maybe because of her size? or because of the sexy movements Derek put in the routine? the choreography didn't suit her at all). I am happy that they've got the highest score :D, but it was definitely over scored. It's not fair to JR. It is hard for me to actually say it but he was waaay better than Rickie.
Nope, sorry...wayyy over the top in edgey, totally unnecessary. Riki is certainly trying and is a great sport, however, she is awkward and not clean cut in her moves. JR Martinez is the star....great technique, smooth, sharp in his footwork, graceful and very energized in his performances. A natural in my opinion.

@bestduel There's two reasons why Derek gets treated better by Tom and Brooke: 1) Derek was Brooke's partner when she was competing. 2) This show is obviously centered around Derek Hough. He's everybody's favorite pro dancer. Everyone acts like it's such a huge loss if he takes a season off. His sister used to get treated the same way when she was on the show.

Did not like this dance at all! Not enough jive, some raunchy moves and Derek really overdanced it. Ricki seems nice but this dance definitely did not deserve the highest score!

She & Derek had that special" naturally there" chemistry.that was so awesome to watch & so easy to get drawn to each single dance they did.It's incredibly amazing that Jennifer will forever be remembered as that most lovable & naturally talented celebrity in the history of DWTS!

@VeeVeeVeeV am sorry you feel that way about Jennifer. I believe she had legit reasons to be in pain.With that being said,referring to it as whining or complaining is a lil' harsh & unfair. In her defense producers choose what footage or clips to air.I have seen a lot of rehearsal, pre & post performance interviews that showed her & Derek actually having fun despite long hours of hard work.

She's a beautiful person, she values relationships.She wanted to win, who wouldn't, that's why they are there...to compete & hopefully win. But on the result night of the finale, she was not gonna dance but she felt she couldn't do that to Derek after everythig he has done.One does not have to donate to charity, make it publicly known to be selfless. Am sure in our own little way we all do!

Even though I didn"t like the choreo for this Jive, I like Ricki and think she will do well. As for your comparison how can you say that Ricki is selfless after only 2 weeks? She seems very sweet and humble but this is just the beginning. Most people don't see Jen as selfish,but just the opposite. She always gave Derek credit

Perhaps I'm biased. I saw "Hairspray" during a last day of school party back in 6th grade and then Ricki went on to be a talk show host that my fellow generation grew to like. Seeing her in probably much less than anything I've ever seen her in this clip, I was completely blown away. It takes a certain level of confidence to get out there. Plus, she looks like she's having fun. So it immediately took me back to her original Tracy character.

I've seen judges overscore because they liked the contestant a lot but first time seeing them overssocre because they liked the pro so much. Man... I really want a pro that never won before to win this time. Derek is a great dancer no doubt but I'm sick of him getting good partners and hoggin the MBT. And getting 8s on this jive was just ridiculous. Even all 7s would have been too high.

I keep reading all of these accolades regarding Derek. Well, of course, he's a great dancer, he's the professional!!! The main point is how Riki dances. She's the star, not Derek, and so far, we've seen wayyy too much of him and heard wayyy to much about him.

over scored did not deserve 2 8's and a 23 for me lacked jive content i disagree with carrie ann was not the best jive of the night so far there were better jives before her they got a 23 because derek is derek and the judges love them some derek hough i would have gave it at best a 21 and at worst 18 don't think there as good as the judges say they are for me hope jr china kristen rob are better but ricki will win cuz she has derek and as i said above the judges bow down to king derek.

@whill1031 for me it was over scored and it is not silly about derek be loved by the judges and the show when has he got a so so partner never i bet if the person who left this week had derek she would still be in the competition if he is that good of a pro why not give him someone like nancy or someone not that good as the others most other male pro's have gotten a so so partner at one point in the 13 seasons its been on not knocking derek but for once i'd like to him get a so so partner.

@bosox1589 Shannon was not good, she didn't even make the quarterfinals. Plus, they dont know who will be good and who won't, they just give out celebs according to who they ask for, height, and personality. One of the pros even said Joanna was given to Derek to act as that "so so" partner you are referring to, but Derek made her look good enough to make Week 9. Tons of people (including Derek fans) thought Lil'Kim was gonna be gone first, but we both know how that turned out.

I think that one of the past comments was right on!!! The chemistry between Derek and Jennifer Grey was very special and came naturally. In this case, Derek is trying too hard, the chemistry is just not there and he is overacting. Hopefully future dances will get better, but, my vote is for JR!!

As Bruno said about Derek Hough and Jennifer Grey's rumba, "sexy yet classy". That's what Riki's jive should have been. No class whatsoever..awkward and raunchy. Not much of a performance.

IMO the Dirty Dancing moves ruined the dance. This jive made it look like Derek was outdancing Rickie Lake. I love Derek, he works hard on making his partner look good, but sorry to say, this just was awkward & kinda painful to watch

I guess I'm still comparing Ricki to Jennifer(I guess that's not fair), but I expected more from her. I just didn't care for this jive and she looked awkward sometimes. Derek did seem to dance around her. I do love Derek, but I think the best dancer with the most natural ability is J.R. The final three will probably be Chynna,Ricki,and J.R.

You are there to learn how to dance. If you wanted to loose weight, why didn't you simply diet and work out at a gym?

This was a very fun, enjoyable Jive. I don't think this dance was really overscored as much as JR was underscored. Ricki was fun and flirty, and some of the steps were actually executed very nicely. Derek is awesome, but a little more content might have made it better received by many, more kicks and flicks (the few Ricki did were actually pretty good). Overall, one of the better jives of the night, but yea, JR blew everyone away for sure and was seriously underscored.

It was boring and hard to watch (maybe because of her size? or because of the sexy movements Derek put in the routine? the choreography didn't suit her at all). I am happy that they've got the highest score :D, but it was definitely over scored. It's not fair to JR. It is hard for me to actually say it but he was waaay better than Rickie.

Nope, sorry...wayyy over the top in edgey, totally unnecessary. Riki is certainly trying and is a great sport, however, she is awkward and not clean cut in her moves. JR Martinez is the star....great technique, smooth, sharp in his footwork, graceful and very energized in his performances. A natural in my opinion.

I think she tried to avoid this. @bestduel There's two reasons why Derek gets treated better by Tom and Brooke: 1) Derek was Brooke's partner when she was competing. 2) This show is obviously centered around Derek Hough. He's everybody's favorite pro dancer. Everyone acts like it's such a huge loss if he takes a season off. His sister used to get treated the same way when she was on the show.
