No, I'm sorry, I don't know "Eclipse". I can try to figure it out, but, its heavy on keyboards, not guitar. I can probably figure out the basic chords, but without all the other instruments, it probably won't sound great.
@winters7018 I posted a video response on Daves comments with the chords I use to play Eclipse..Good luck. Sorry Davetheguitarguy not trying to hijack your thread.....
Thanks man! I am working on opening a website soon, so you guys can find all my stuff in one place! There will also be a lot of cool "extras", I'll keep ya all posted!
The second chord, after D major, is wrong. You can clearly hear that tere's a "dissonant" note (the original version, played by Gilmour, is different). The right chord is (XX0031) (I don't know the exact name). You'll hear the difference...
hey thanks this video has really helped but i have on question after you do the chord progression you do the b minor the the 3 7th but what is the chord after that? once again thanks for the help
No problem. After the B min. you play an E maj. but, leave the third finger off, and what you are doing is removing an E note on the D string and just playing that string open, which again is a D note. I believe that is an E 7th. Then, play an A chord, then, back to D maj. and the beginning picking pattern for your next verse. Make sense? If not, let me know, ok? Thanks man, Dave
What I mean by walking down, is, after you start by picking the D and E string together in the D chord formation, you pick the B string, then, back to high E string, then, pick the two strings (D and E together again) then, "walk down" by picking the B string, then, the G string, then, walk back up to the G string, then, E string then both again. I am sorry, thats the only way I know how to verbalize the picking pattern. I sure hope it helped!
Man, I am so sorry but I have really no way of describing it. I do not read music, so thats out. And to try to explain by typing is fruitless. If I can find a way to help you, I will write you back, ok? I'm really sorry man, really!!! All I want to do is help people learn tunes, this bums me out!
Whats important is what sounds good to you! Thanks for the nice comment, I do appreciate it! I do have some more Floyd up now, check it out! Thanks again man! Dave
That was a lot of help. This makes things a whole lot easier. I knew all the chords, but it is hard to listen to that song and figure out those minor chords.
I have known for a long time how to finger pick this tune, but I never knew the chorus. thank you so much for this easy to fallow lesson. I am sure I will be looking through your list of videos. you make it very easy to learn. thanks again...
Thank you and thank you! Too bad 5 different docs can't find out whats wrong with me. Wonder when they would have given up if it was the Feds controlling it?
Man, you guys are gonna give me a big head! Thanks for the kind words, I hope you check out some of the other stuff I have up too. I believe I have 13 videos up now. Thanks again, trying to get well!!! Take care, Dave
Its a shame how YouTube is putting so much limitations on music, also how people are only thinking about the money these days, not the music. Money isnt everything. The lesson you gave me was better than my teacher whom I pay 18$ a lesson for, so thanks alot man.
You are right, everything is about the money these days! I wish I had some!!!!
Thanks for the compliments, I do appreciate it! ANY questions, feel free to write. I haven't put anything new up in a while, because I have some strange sickness that the docs can't figure out, but I get real weak, shaky, skin feels like its crawling, etc. So, I haven't felt like playing or recording in a while. Thanks again man!!! Dave
There is nothing I can say dave that hasnt already been said. I thank you for showing me how to play this song with no tricks or gimmicks. No telling how many times i have learned half of a song on youtube just for them to say well to learn the rest go pay for it on my website. Thanks again Dave, you are the man. Keep up your great work!!
Thanks man! Ya, I get a lot of those douche bags writing me nasty E mails telling me to stop because I'm cutting into their profits. What a greedy world we live in. Music is in the heart, it is free as far as I am concerned! Take care man! Dave
Ha Ha, I just noticed that, very perceptive!!! It is a bit distracting when you know it's there. Usually, I have to do about 5 takes because my cats and dogs want to get on camera and jump on me! Thanks buddy, have a great day!! Dave
Thanks Dave, you've a very nice no-nonsense way of teaching, this is the best example I've seen of this wonderful song, you've made it accessible to me.....................many thanks!
There seems to be a time limit, as I say in the beginning. Otherwise the upload fails, sorry!!! All I can say is rewind and play it again. That's how I learn most of this stuff just by watching the original artist over and over until I get it. If you are not familiar with some of the chords, I do one on just major chords, that I was able to take more time with. Thanks for your opinion!!! Dave
Ya, I know. But, like I said, there only seems to be a certain amount of time, aprox. 5:30 min. otherwise it will not upload, so, I have to hurry. All I can say is, pause and rewind, sorry man! Thanks for the comment though!! Dave
Man, its that Bm / E7 that gets me every time. Im trying to play it finger-pickin' style like roger does in the classic-albums take, and I keep eating it right at that Bm/E7. Practice practice practice I guess. Thanks for the vid, it will be handy.
its actualy just a straight G7 thats why you cant find it, throw a finger on the 3rd fret of the low E and pluck it at the same time with 1st fret high e. and of course leaving the B string open.
Thanks man, I tried it, sounds pretty good. But, I have to say, if I can, I go by the original artist. Check out Waters playing it. He never touches the low E string. Thanks for the comment though, I do appreciate the help! Dave
Not really. I would only be able to teach beginners and folks who want to learn a specific song. I never learned how to read music. :( I have taught in the past, but get discouraged when its a person who is not completely dedicated. Have someone in mind? P.S Thanks for tuning in! I see you are a huge Floyd fan, I have some more Floyd up here. Take care, dave the guitar guy
