Great story bout that awesome dress she is wearing for the party! It's brown but the sleeves were supposed to be on her shoulders not off but the costumer saw it and was horrified! It was all puffy sleeves and totally wrong for a diva of the stage. Bette goes "ohhh don't worry darling...(creates the off the shoulder look)...voila!" Bette saves the day!

The Davis character, is so enraged, and nasty because she turned 40 years old??? She is a kid to me. At 50 I never looked better !! No wrinkles at all. Davis is at least 55 in this film. Today, an actress can be 65 and still be glamourous. Sheesh
