    Pharoah Sanders Quartet

    Tue, March 20, 2012

    Doors: 10:30 pm / Show: 11:00 pm

    Birdland

    New York, NY

  • Not a huge fan, but I cannot deny the beauty, or the passion that is in every note. If anyone thinks this is ugly, they are apparently Justin Bieber fans

  • Mr. Sanders. you are beautiful, right on//// ian r

  • all the bad feedback towards jazzdog wouldn't even cross hismind

  • Napkin cam!

Saw Pharoah in 94. Sonny Sharrock had just died. He paid tribute with a hand held gong that he rang until the sound waves dissipated. Really moving.

  • Short and sweet.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • I'll search for Stan Getz instead.

  • There's a place for beauty AND ugliness in art, I don't deny it. But life is short, and I choose beauty.

  • Jazzdog-I agree; one man's beauty is ... well this man's beauty is Pharoah Sanders. Thanks sundisz.

  • ugliest sound i've ever heard

  • Jazzdog - good name :) .. I am sorry for bothering you :)

search for Britney Spears - may be a better fit for you ..

  • Dear Jazzdog: You Can Only SUCK The Dick Of This Man.....Maximum Respect for Pharoah....

    Peace.....

  • @sun01disz hehe good one

  • @sun01disz

How on earth can he call himself 'Jazzdog' and have no clue as to who Pharoah Sanders is? I bet he goes round putting the same comment on alice and john coltrane clips, leon thomas, yusuf lateef, sun ra, etc etc Hang on, hang on... I've got it. He heard Dave Bruebeck's 'Take 5' once on a commercial and now hes a self-proclaimed jazz head. Oh, that's alright then. My apologies.

Yes, Britney was a good call.

  • Man, some people are so narrow-minded. The saxophone is THE wind instrument that has the most versatile sound as it's been proven in the past by so many great players and you would deny its shades of beauty?

  • Dear Jazzdog: You Can... Maybe Only Suck The Dick Of This Man....

    Respect for Pharoah Sanders Ever...

  • Oink! Oink!

  • @Jazzdog40 douchenozzle go listen to some kenny G :p

  • @4lpskenny g...music that sterile zombies might masturbarte to if they could actually get it up.

  • Pharoah is a living legend. Be sure to see him when he plays in your area. You wont regret it. Nice video.
