  • @jirzygrl I jus was really curious to see if I could curl them. I've been doing the 25s for a while, after 3 or 4 months I'll move up to 35s.

  • I love the Aasics running shoes! I have problems with my ankle and this was the only shoe that has been my friend :-) I purchased a pair that I thought were cross trainers this weekend for $25 from Ross only to get home and find out they were running shoes. They are cut different and I think I can get away with using them for working out... My daughter likes New Balance - I'm taking mine back. I paid full price for those and I was still having issues :-(

  • yeah i use to worry about getting bulky but figured that since i don't take supplements i will only get as muscular as nature allows...lol! Yes, muscles are DEFINITELY better than fat. I wouldn't give up my strength for anything!! :-) Sometimes I still worry about the bulkiness but there is no way I can change that cuz i'm so hooked on getting stronger. :-) Great to see you are pushing the 30s!! Awesome!!!! Yes, definitely get them!! :-)

  • @luv2run31 Def she shouldn't get the 30s cuz she aint ready for them. She should stick with working out with 20s untiil she can handle 20s cuz the form on the 30s is not there at all and it's a recipe for injury.

  • @luvsbuffgurls I agree that her form isn't quite there BUT i still say she should get the 30s cuz then she'll have them when she is ready and i would think she could use them for lawnmowers. I think she could be ok with 25s on some of the exercises. I am always switching around. I can do 30s with just the standard bicep curl but i have to go lower with the incline dumbbell curl (on the bench). I'm sure if she would get them, she would be using them for something very soon. :-)

  • yea she can buy watever weight she wants but stick with the 20s and maybe 25 for a last set or 2 with lower reps as long as the form holds together otherwise you're lifting the weight with ur legs, shoulder, and back, which is not the purpose of a bicep curl movement and because that's not the intention that's how you get injured.

  • @luvsbuffgurls yes i agree form is very important. if ya doing a bicep curl....the bicep should be the only muscle working hard.....keep it in isolation.

  • @luvsbuffgurls BTW...I have 55s but I can't curl them...lol! ;-) But I do use them. :-) I use them for lawnmowers and squats and any other exercises that might need that much weight....that i can handle..lol!

  • What if I got the 30s and drop my reps to improve on the form??

  • def lower the reps but start with 20s for 2 sets, then a set of 25 then a set of 30 if u can handle them using good formn or just work yourself up to the 30s but be sure to use good form

  • like a pyramid, rolandsc suggested that. I don't realy do the 20s anymore unless I'm thrushed. Start with the 25s then drop it to 30s for a few more reps? or the other way around?

  • it would be interesting to see how your form looks doing the 20s. it's all about form and controlling the weight not the amount of weight you use. typically, start lighter and go up in weight but you cud do drop sets and start heavier but go down last few reps. just didn't seem as if you're ready to control the 30s such that it seems you should stick with 20s and maybe 25s the last set. wud have to see how it looks, sweetie. just don't want u to hurt ur sexi self.

  • you got me to go out and get me some 15s and 20s LOL...i was looking at 25s but I think i'll take my time and just use the ones at the gym!! Mostly I only use the treadmill at the gym. Way to go girl!! Keep it real!!!

  • Because the weight is pretty heavy and i was really trying hard for the reps I kno my form was kinda jacked. Def gonna wk on that, I want to be my best, thanx girl.

  • looks like your gettin some guns. watch your form so you are not throwing the weight, a lighter perfect rep is better than a heavy thrown one, Still impressed. =) nice gym too

  • A pyramid approach might also be useful. Go for perfect form. Start with say 2 reps with your beloved 30's, then 5 reps with 25's, 12 reps with 20's and then back down again (if you arms aren't dead by then)! Go girl!

  • yeah i was scared of getting bulk because if i got on the scale i knew my weight is going to be shooting up but i know later on my weight will fall off quick plus muscle weighs more than fat! but shoo.. ive been workin hard tryna get some muscle in my arms how long did it take u 2 see some muscle? im seeing a little

  • with P90x it really didn't take long, I really started seeing improvement within the first month of phase. Muscle helps ur body burn more calories.

  • @shieva u go gurl get ur muscle but muscle doesn't weigh more than fat but it does take up less space than fat so u can be the same weight but be smaller if the fat u lose is replaced with the same amount of muscle so it's difficult to get bulky when u add muscle unless u take steroids and develop really big muscles but that defeats the purpose of working out to improve your health
