  • what video did you uncomment

  • I try to teach useful Japanese phrases to my brother and sisters, but the only Japanese my brother remembers is "二日酔いなんです”

  • Did you stay with a host family? My fear is being invited to the onsen lol.

  • @BobbyDigital314 Haha, the onsen aren't that scary! I didn't live with a host family, I lived in the international dorms (which was great). I've heard of quite a mixed bag as far as host families go; some people love their host families, and some people can't stand them. It all depends.

Try the onsen at least once! If you don't like it you'll never have to go again!

  • your know more japanese than me ^_^

  • I've heard that talking about the weather is the equivalent to small talk for us like, "hey, how are you?" or "how you doing?" kind of thing. From your experience, would you agree with that?

  • @mzshineshine Did I ever respond to this? I'm SO sorry if I didn't. YES! Talking about the weather and talking about food are SO important to talk about in Japanese small-talk! It's best to become a pro at that! (but since a year has passed you probably already know that.

  • Otskara Samades - Damn, i can learn japfast with this

  • Thank you for this video its not needed for me though i'm just studying japanese for fun with my friends

  • man, this is bomb!?! thanks it actually helped

  • I love you!

    lol ^^

  • Thanks so much! There's a chance I might be able to study abroad in Japan next year, so this will definitely come in handy. :)

  • Hey mate,

I like the video but can you include English spelling of the words?

  • Hi Jamie, very entertaining videos. I think my Japanese will improve faster if you are my teacher. Btw, you always seem to be laughing at some private jokes in your videos, what are you thinking about? Or maybe you just have a very bright personality! :) Keep up the good work! Cheers!

  • The laugh is because many of the words he is using are a kind of game play. Almost like "peek a boo". When someone adds "desu ne" to the end of a phrase, the standard reply is "so desu ne". The meaning is a little like "don't you think", and the reply "I think so too".

it would be helpful if you can tell me more about your experience.

and how you were able to do it

  • Hi!

    thanks for the compliments!

I went to Japan through my university, since my University and Kumamoto University are sister schools. I don't think they have a med. program, though. Sorry about that.

Have you looked at schools in Tokyo? I think most of the schools in Tokyo or Osaka or bigger cities will have Graduate school programs like that!

    Good luck!!

  • Nice vid, JamieDanger! I get people asking me about learning Japanese so I might send a few your way to these vids. Good stuff!

    Peace

  • Aww, thanks a lot!

Yeah, I would love it if you did. I also love your videos, btw.

    Thanks again!

  • Wow, like everyone else says, your pronunciation is spectacular! By the way, if possible, could you make a video and pronounce the difference between "cute" (kawaii) and "scary" (...similar to kawaii)? Thanks and great job!

  • Thanks! I went abroad from Oct. 2006 to August of last year, but studied for 2 years before that.

  • Jamie! Why is your video quality from heaven?! This is about the clearest youtube video quality i've ever seen! Haha, anywho, wow! I had no idea your japanese was so good! I love your pronunciation! and your scarf! Good luck!

  • Hey! Thanks so much for watching! I use my Cannon digital power shot SD something, and then Windows Movie Maker. Pretty easy!
