Gatto is conveying truth, not making apologies. This isn't rocket science...it's social engineering that he is exposing. Problem is, most people have been indoctrinated by the very system he is coming against, therefore, society as a whole will have a hard time grasping the concepts due to their brainwashed-state-of-being. On pages 318 and 319 of Underground History Gatto shows that he doesn't see this as some conspiracy any longer but that the machinery originated from a conspiracy but that the machine is self perpetuating and is one that got away from the controllers. I don't agree with him on this assertion.

I didn't think this guy was really trying to apologize and justify things, I found it more viewing the social/education/class system as if he was in control of it, then analyzing in a way to stay in control. It's a view I like to take to ponder things when I notice a lot of coincidences, almost as if I was looking down on thousands of instances of myself from a perspective of control from the top of the pyramid.

His point is that the British elite of the 1800's thought that way about the Irish.
