Question: The doctor said I had high (not seriously high) blood pressure last time I visited. I just lost weight and had recently started working out. I don't think it runs in my family, and my diet isn't perfect, but it's not bad... She said the caffein I drank before going to the doctor could have caused it, but still gave me some pamphlet about high blood pressure. Should I be concerned and change my habbits, or should I continue with my current habbits? I do drink a lot of tea...
Good question! You mentioned that your habits have changed since you last saw your doctor, decent diet, working out, drinking tea, these all definitely help your blood pressure, but I suggest taking a look at an arm pressure gauge if you have one at home, or you can find them at your local pharmacy. Then you will get a good indication if these new habits of yours have assisted you. I'm still a student, so if your blood pressure is still high, go back to the doctor & explain your changes.
Oh! Something I absolutely love is black liquorice! It's made of all natural wheat flour, molasses & liquorice extract and has no fat! But liquorice extract raises your blood pressure so you shouldn't eat too much of it and if you have high blood pressure it's best to avoid it...
you guys rock... keep it going.

Thanks for sharing! It's true that hypertension could get serious, and should not be overlooked. Hope all is well now for your dad.
