should be no problem imo, when the aircraft is starting or landing.
normally civilian aircraft travels at an altitude about 30k feet, which is way too high for this missile to reach (range 5200 meters).

Ohjuksen laukaisun yhteydessä siitä paksusta säiliöstä mistä pidetään kiinni tulee nestemäistä typpeä, joka pyörittää ohjuksen kärjessä olevaa hakupäätä samalla kylmentäen sen erittäin kylmäksi näin taivaalla lentävän lentokoneen moottoreista hohkaava lämpö erottuu ja ohjus löytää perille kohteeseensä.
Olin armeijassa 2003 joten en muista nyt ihan kaikkea teknistä. Kyseinen aselaji on poistettu käytöstä ja se on korvattu uudemmilla ohjus järjestelmillä.
