All LMPs have to have the same weight. Toyota chose to use that excess weight for hybrid drive instead of default ballast led ingots.

Besides, a RBR with a broken KERS is slower than a Williams/Force India/Virgin.

It could just be a bad gearbox setup.

@Tarten46 No, that's just it hitting top gear. The ratios probably aren't optimized for Paul Ricard, so the revs probably just took a nose dive.

@Tarten46 No, that just sounded like a shift into top gear for the last bit of the straight to me. The electrics are probably engaged on the straights, though, similar to F1 KERS.
