  • Nas is my fav rapper along with Big L, and Illmatic is the best hip hop album, but i dont think live shows are that great for hip hop. Then again, i go to heavy metal shows which are energetic as fuck so thats probably why.

  • what a crowd

  • the difference between eminem and nas live is that nas uses no backing track. that's much harder. people saying nas sometimes sounds like he's out of breath? of course he is. eminem just gets mr porter to finish half of lines so of course it sounds like he doesn't run out of breath.

  • 2:31 that phone is as old as the song

  • @nastyboyzey

    Real point of the video.

  • the city never sleeps, full of villains and creeps, thats were i learned to do my hustle had to scuffle with freaks, im a addict for sneakers, 20s of buddah and bitches with beepers aaaahhhh sooo good

  • Premo needs his props!

  • are there any white people there

  • 2 people who watched r obviously from cali

  • i never sleep cause sleep is the causing of death

  • @johnnysoofresh it's "cousin" of death, stupid

  • eminem is a joke piece of shit

  • man I was there...that shit was so hot...when that New York State of Mind beat dropped, everyone outside summer stage went BANANAS...started jumpin barriers and shit

  • Nas sounds so good live, one of the best live performers of all time in hip hop, and in my opinion THE best rapper of all time. I dont think he gets the credit he deserves. People got stoked on 2pac and Biggie cuz of their deaths, and dont get me wrong they were great rappers, but I personally think Nas has more talent then both of them.

  • This is one of the most lyrically complex rap songs of all time. You need supreme breath control to do this song, not to mention perform this live.

  • nas>eminem

  • i would of died if i was here. Nasty Nas for life!

  • Nas/MF Doom/KRS One

    Best rappers alive

  • on pain im like scarface sniffin cocaine

  • i personally think nas is better than jay-z, however jay-z is still good though

  • damn

  • Nas. Jay-Z. Eminem. Best Rappers alive.

  • @FID3LCASHFLOW Who the fuck is Jay-Z?!?

  • @hobbits24 LOL well said.

  • @hobbits24 Sean Carter. An MC from Brooklyn. Founded Roc-a-fella Records.

  • that shit is hard to perform live.. when he wrote illmatic it was made to be the rawest shit ever wrote (which it is) but if you listen to the delivery.. that song is nearly impossible to rap in a studio.. try it live!

  • best nigga and rapper forever!!

  • nas come to france please!!!!!!!!

  • ÒH FUCK YEAH

  • cousin*

  • Aint it "cousin of death"

  • lol

  • best rapper alive and ever lived.... but some of the words he says in this is different from the actual song... like.... he says got little niggas pullin the trigger ... and it really is got Got younger' niggas pullin the trigger and a couple more but what ever nas is the best his lyrics are ridiculous and flow so well

  • the mac 10 was in the grass aand... i ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an assassin

    Nas is too ill

  • NAS COME TO BRAZIL, PLEASE!

  • Nasty Nas in your area, bout to cause mass hysteria

    -Halftime -- Illmatic

  • Picked the mac up, told brothas back up, the mac spit, levels hittin niggas one ran, I made him backflip. Nas is a fuckin beast!!!!!

  • Nas Is Definetly most talented rapper alive

  • he sure is (probably), but it wouldn't have sounded so catchy without help from DJ Premier getting his flow correct towards the whole song.

  • NAS COME TO DA UK

  • eminem is good

but nas is the BEST EVER!!!!!!

dnt disrespect em diss ppl like soulja boy and lil wayne and shit cuz eminem actually has talent

  • definitely homie! Em is a legend!

  • @NasFan4Life man i totally am on the same page as you. em and nas forever fuck gucci wayne and who ever the fuck else is out there. they aint got shit on the two gods of hip hop

  • eminem is commercial a pill popper and has a fucking annoying ass twangy voice, nas is way doper imo. He's clever as they come, no homo.

  • Mothafuck Eminem. He's a good rapper, but he is a total faggot. Him and his boys, 50 cent and Yayo can go suck dick. They're garbage.

I gotta say tho his old shit was pretty good. That song Renegade was ill too. Nas was right about Eminem owning Jay Z on that track though but his new album is fucking wack

  • Comment removed

  • do you know where i can buy his glasses?

    theyre awesome

  • My mic check is life or death breathin a snipers breath!!! CLASSIC

  • @CowboyKilla89 yea..

  • @CowboyKilla89 listen dog lifeless breath not snipers breath alright?

  • @CowboyKilla89 you got the wrong song

  • Just to let you know Fabolous the rapper posted this on his Twitter account

  • classic!

  • NAS IS FUCKIN SICK. LEGEND

  • i dont see what u luv abt this song....he's just talkin..his lyrics r good. but flow is overrated. no fast flow or anything. tell me specifically what u think is special abt this flow

  • uhm this is one of the greatest songs in hip hop! flow overrated?! nas is completly underrated in everything he does!

what i specifically like is the lyrics ofc, the beat, the feel of real ghetto music, hustling, and old school hip hop

  • his lyrics are gritty as fuckkkkkkkkkk. probably his besy..

  • ya ya im messing with you no hard feelings. have a nice day

  • More lines:

Its only right the i was born to use mics, cuz stuff that i write is even tougher than dice"

"my rhymin is a vitamin, hell without a capsule"

"give me a Smith n Wesson I have niggas undressin"

"just a nigga, walkin with his finga on the trigga"

"behind the walls of intelligence life is defined, im thinkin crime when im in a NY state of Mind"

    "crews without guns are gonners"

  • Eminem has more of those in a good verse.

If you listen to "Hellbound" "Scary Movies" and some of his unreleased stuff, one verse kills this whole song.

I'm no longer responding. Obviously you're adamant to Nas being better, we all have different opinions. Don't even bother responding either.

  • judging by your profile, you play more video games than a teenage asian kid. stick to talking about videogames and not classic albums.

  • Kid, no matter what my channel is about. I can talk about whatever I want to, it's called freedom of speech. In fact a couple of videos does not mean I don't have a life. I'm entitled to my own opinion.

  • true, but keep in mind its hard to take anything you say seriously and you are not exactly the most crediable person to be talking about music. stick to debating halo 3 maps

  • I don't play Halo 3. I know my music, and I stick up for what I believe in.

  • ya ya totally, so, ummm maybe share your strong opinions on the new jonas brothers cd and the new xbox 360 game elsewhere.

  • Yeah, a Nas and Eminem fan that likes the Jonas Brothers. You make a lot of sense. Don't make this personal because you don't know me, and I don't know you.

  • eminem doesnt have any punchlines, he usually goes for shock or comedy, theres no punchline

  • You are listening to the new age Eminem. The old Eminem did shock or comedy but there was definitely punchlines. This ended a while ago, truce already.

  • there were never punchlines or any good ones anyway

  • punchlines r all abt shock and comedy. big l went 4 shock and comedy

  • punchlines are about being witty, clever but eminem doesnt have any punchlines, hes funny but theres no punchline, theres no puns, no double entendres

  • Yes, there is, listen to his old stuff, even some of his new stuff..

"I was born with a dick in my brain, yeah fucked in the head."

  • ''put my dick in your ear and fuck what you heard"

  • I'm not here to aruge Nas's ability. I'm here to argue Eminem's ability, so just listen to him in the old days, and you'll see. I don't wanna argue anymore this is never ending.

  • i've listened to enough, he's not as lyrical or as poetic

  • em's rhyming skills and delivery are fire

  • Thank you, we've finally settled on an agreement. Both Nas and Eminem are undisputingly talented at rapping, let's leave it at that and close the argument.

  • WHERE WE AT YALL?

  • i love eminem but song for song stan is the only thing he produced anywhere near to about 15 of nas' songs

  • NAS IS A LIVING LEGEND ...

  • fuck eminem r u for real. nas is the illest.

  • Nas kills Eminem... end of discussion

  • agreed

  • uncomparable two different styles em is sick and hes nice with the mic but nas has been there since the beginning and i think lyrically, nas takes it because he doesnt rap about a bunch of bullshit

  • It's music, it's not a competition. Nas and Em are two of the greatest rappers alive today, Nas has just been on the scene longer.

  • Asif you dudes comparin' Em to Nas! Em was nice, now he on some corny mainstream shit, Nas has been consistant since the beginning.

  • dwader09, I couldn't agree more with what you said about Illmatic but nobody can compare em to nas cause they are too different so you can never say who's better...

  • What was that intro? Anybody know? :)

  • Where we at yall? NEW YORK STATE OF MIND!!

  • Besides Rakim no one touches Nas, especially if Nas gets off his making albums to save the world tip. Sorry Em is good, but never compare him to the man that created Illmatic

  • this song is lyrical torture

  • wats the song in the beginning?

  • the drop was hardcor

  • pac

    biggie

    rakim

    nas

    jay-z

  • word, illmatic's the best rap album ever made

  • i was in central park on this day... i think it was a sunday morning and it was pouring rain. the line was incredibly long. looks like the rain died down by showtime

  • lyrically illest is nas. ain't shit about it can't nobody match him lyrically...illmatic is the dopest album

  • eminem got good flow, & his lyrics r ok but, he don't got wide range of topics like nas, he got straight forward lyrics while nas has deep wordplay lyrics, nas is more complex than eminem

  • he cant bend/manipulate words liek em can

em has many more complex multi-sylablle rhyme schemes than nas

and to say that em doesnt have a wide range of topics is retarded

    hes done it all

crazy, funny, love (hailies song), dark, political, emotional

to say that his lyrics are just ok is also a big understatement

  • those r diff themes, nas rhymes about TOPICS..

  • theres white america witch is about how because he is white he is 50x more popular

8 mile which is about a guys want to get famous and out of his poor shit life

im not takin anything from nas

he and em are the two greatest of all time

its just i think em has better lyrics

  • I'm sorry but eminem does not have better lyrics than nas.

  • i agree with you there

but to say em isnt poetic is wrong

listen to the songs on his first album,

  • Infinite? No it's not poetic, not in the sense Nas is. Nas' poetry is actual poetry, like "A baby's being born the same time a man is murdered, the beginning and end," or "A thug changes, love changes, and best friends become strangers," and it really is deep. The album Infinite really is just him bragging about his rapping skills. I've yet to listen to a poetic Eminem song, but in my mind, he is better than Nas and any rapper who ever lived and rapper who ever will live.

  • wow can you say em dicc riders?? Em has never made an album that has even come close to Illmatic or It was written. Nas has that smooth, flowing, NY delivery, and the reason it hits is because it doesnt show emotion. you ever heard of Biggie?? he's not an "emotional" rapper according to your defintion, but he's arguably the greatest rapper to have touched the mic. BTW just cuz you never been in the projects doesnt mean you can get off by saying Nas lines arent "real" compared to Em's.

  • I'm not an Eminem dick rider, I'm just expressing my opinion. Listen to "Hellbound" and "Scary Movies" and then tell me who has a better flow. Emotion is a key part in lyrical skill, because you can feel their lyrics as if it were you they were talking about, and I swear listening to The Notorious B.I.G. and Nas could make me fall asleep if it weren't for their lyrics. Eminem to me is the best rapper ever. But we all have different opinion, and I respect yours.

  • emotion is not part of lyrical skill, the ability to express real emotions makes you a great artist but not a great lyricist, lyrical skills have to do with lyrics, and nas is a better lyricist

  • Nas has a punchline or two in every verse. Eminem, in his early days, has at least five in a bad verse for him. Eminem > Nas.

  • bullshit, give me one of these verses with punchlines after punchlines

  • nas is the king of personification, story telling, and paint the greatest images songs after songs, and have multi syllable rhyming as well

  • Lyrically, he fails against Eminem. Although he does tell stories pretty well, that still doesn't compare him to Eminem. Eminem is in another level of rhyming if yoju listen to the songs that I listed below like "Hellbound" or "Scary Movies" (the reason I keep saying those songs is because those are the best that I know). The only one that comes close to Eminem is Big L (rest in peace).

  • no he doesnt, listen to "every ghetto" and "one mic", (pay attention to the multi syllable rhymes also)

  • ill listen to the songs you suggested

  • hop off eminem's overrated dick my g giving ni99a overdue, untrue priases Nas sh*ts over em's whole catalog btw em's last 2 albums were wackkkk and his next 1 shapin to be the same

  • Encore: Yes, it was terrible.

The Eminem Show: No, wasn't that bad.

    Marshall Mathers LP: Over Ilmatic.

Again, look at the suggestions I put. "Scary Movies" and "Hellbound". Those two verses kill Illmatic. Nas has one or two punchlines in a lyrically good song, and Eminem in a good verse could rip even Big L. Listen to those two songs that I suggeted. Nas is weak compared to Eminem, a couple of good lines here and there, and his rapping voice is a real turn-off.

  • marshall mathers over illmatic WTF LMAOOOOOOO

wow can you say blasphemous bullsh*t woooow

I'm going to pretend you didn't write that in your comment just woooow

his rapping "voice" is a turn off?? wtf kinda gay sh*t is that no LIL JON/ LIL WAYNE voices are "turn offs" nas shyt is unique & distinct

    ROFLTICB @ eminem rippin big L : | ......... kill yourself

  • man eminem has some good multis, delivery, humor n some story tellin but majority of his career he rapped about stupid sh*t not to mention his dead beat mother & his woman Nas has way to much jewels/ gems/ pearls through his songs creavity, wordplay, storytellin, flow, as an overall MC nas wins ......

but you're a eminem stan so you'll probably deny that to the end but IDC fact is fact

  • Eminem raps different stuff from every other rapper. Nas is known to tell stories, and have some poetry here and there, but most of the time he is like every other rapper. Money, women, cars, jewelry, so in creativity, Nas doesn't win.

  • Let's just stop this. Everyone has their own opinions on music, and there is no one best rapper alive/ever because we all have different opinions. Let's just agree to disagree, and leave this alone.

  • Wow its obvious you don't listen to Nas even though you might say you do most of the time?? wtf k you might of left without putting that dumb shyt on your comment dude the same dude that did poison, pussy kills, whos world is this, it ain't hard to tell, lifes a b*tch, rewind, a song where he talkin as if he's a gun before pac did me & his girlfriend, 1 mic, one love, the message, if I ruled the world, black girl lost, nas is like, 2nd childhood, I can, thugz mansion, heaven, america, sly fox

  • we're not alone, black zombie, du rags, queens get the money ....... right you're confusin him with lil wayne, yung joc, GS boyz, Jay Z

  • "Grinding, enough diamonds to change the climate."

    - Breathe

"I started bling how could you question my direction."

    - Make the World Go Round

"And I don't need much but a Dutch, a bitch to fuck."

    - The Cross

"Hate Me Now" was very materialistic.

  • That's just off the bat. But Nas does get materialistic, so let's just stop this argument, because we're both adamant on our views of who is a better emcee. Let's just stop this argument, because there truly is no one best rapper alive/ever because we all have our own opinion.

  • woooow "nastrudamus" was his most commercial/ materialistic song yet I rather listen to that then most of the outlandish weird crazy sh*t eminem raps about stabbin people wit knives with aids on the tip, doin shrooms, other dumbshyt

  • you obviouslty dont listen to too much Nas... he is the most creative and different rapper out there. Em is good, but nas is king

  • coudln't have put it better myself

  • the first ten lines are sick

  • are you fucking kidding me? NY State of mind absolutley destroys anything any other rapper has ever done. Its a lyrical ride through Nas's life. You kid, have no clue of what you speak of.

  • Gimme some punchlines here that are amazing. Besides the first lines, and "I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death. And for all of your information, about half of my music playlist in Nas.

  • Punch lines? What is this a comedy? Here are some dope line though:

"rappers i monkey flip em with the fucky rhythm i be kicken, musician, inflictin composition"

"holdin a m16, see with the pen im extreme"

"yall know my steelo, with or without the airplay"

"i ran like a cheetah with thoughts of an asassin"

    "crews without guns are gonners"

"each block is like a maze, filled with black rats trapped"

"life is parralell to hell but i mist maintain"

NY state of mind is a masterpiece.. a work of art

  • you're insane.

  • what sets em apart in my mind is that he can make songs that are crazy and wacky and funny

yet have some sought of complex rhyme scheme and lyrics to them

take role model for instance, or criminal, or buisness

  • yo man, you dont know what you talkin about....you must be a fool to think em has anythin on nas. im not disrespectin em cause he's made somethin out of nothin with his career...but yo nas can rhyme circles around em no problem. Illmatic, classic, and freshest album of all time.

  • listen to marshall mathers lp

only em can make crazy songs that still have a lyrical base and complex rhyme scheme

  • I think taht NaS has more wisdom and perspective than Em does..they both have very different backgrounds and they both use their music to express themselves differently...Em is very straight to the point and doesn't really use as much word play and isn't as clever or educated as NaS...

  • listen to infinite, demons inside, 8 mile, run rabbit run, till i collapse, and square dance

those are clever and listen to basically everything off his first two albums had a ton of word play

  • most of the songs you mentioned sucks, rabbit run, till i collapse, square dance, you just remindnd me how much i hated the eminem show, lyricallly, em is not better than nas or jay, the only thing em has is multis and delivery

  • For wordplay, listen to "Hellbound" or "Words are Weapons" or "Scary Movies".

  • Those who don't really know Nas' 1st album Illmatic, this is on it, hear it on ya system and feel the streetz! You can't get no iller! BIG, JAYZ, NAS, 50, all out did themselves with their 1st LPs! CLASSICS front to back, that's what seperates those album from other great artist, classics from start to finish, no fluff!

  • lol....eminem over nas...hahaha you sir need a slap.

  • I can't believe you could say that......2Pac is quite possibly the greatest of all time

"My ambition is to be more than just a rap musician, the elavation of today's generation if I could make them listen, Prison ain't what we need, time to plan stratagize, my family has got to eat"

Over-rated......you sir do need a slap back to reality

  • P.S. Illmatic=Classic....and if you don't know now you know

  • yea boi, going to see nas first time ever in new zealand i cant wait

  • I was Fuckin Kidding... I think those are the worst 5 in the game. In that order.

  • i feel sorry for you!

  • I was Fuckin Kidding... I think those are the worst 5 in the game. In that order.

  • umad?
