There is actually a way to listen to this if you click on Bases in a right time after interception screen, the music will continue playing while you can manage stuff in Bases.
I saw the real UFO interception last summer and it was completely different than we can imagine in games; the huge UFO ship size of a star with a bright glow around it, was flying across the sky.. when from the right, the newest air force craft appeared (perfect triangle with 3 lights on the bottom). 10 seconds later, from the left, appeared a long, black, weird looking helicopter. All crafts were flying fast and almost soundless, then UFO made a sharp turn and..dematerialized. Bingo!
Also, if you hit the "ufo detail" button (it's the bottom right blue one to the right of the avenger detail pic) it will pause the battle and play the music indefinitely!

Yeah, I deliberately disarmed the Avenger so I could make this video. If you are unarmed and standoff, the UFO wont see you as a threat and wont outrun your craft.
@DSCraze Right. I've used this tactic myself, in "holding down" a UFO for another armed craft to catch up and intercept. The hard part is avoiding the bug in the handoff between the unarmed craft and the armed one.
Well sheeeeit, the Battleship is the fastest enemy craft? I would have assumed it would be the one-man scout ship considering its size. Downing a scout = WIN
could you get the entire DOS soundtrack please, theres literally no DOS version at all anywhere, and it's pretty diapointing really :/
