  • bad ass talent.....

  • the chinese have

    such

    beautful

    and

    expressive

    hands

  • I agree, this version is my favorite too. <3

  • she was one of the teachers/performers in my sis' former Chinese dance academy. i didn't know that she was that famous until now. i saw her live at one of our banquets. i wonder if she's still here now.

  • doubt this is yang liping. she's slimmer

  • She must be over 40 now. Such an incredible dancer!

  • Gasp! Just learned that she is closing in on 50! What incredible discipline it must have taken to keep such a long dance career.

  • very very very beautiful!

  • it reminds me of my teachers dance

i dont know if you know her or not but my teacher is Yang Ying

  • In fact, this one is the old version. There is a new version. This music is from secret garden. The music in the new version is better than this one because that is created specifically for this dance by a famous Chinese composer who is also a good friend of this dancer

  • Yes. She has so many versions of this dance. This one is not exactly "old". It was new until a year or two ago. There was an even older version before this one.

  • Absolutely breath taking. Bravo China. Bravo...

  • I don't know what to say. But one word comes into mind....Beautiful!

  • oh my.. I really see a peacock

  • Beautiful...does anyone know where I can find this song? What is it called/who composed it?

  • I know this piece. It's from secret garden. The name is pastorale.

  • BEAUTIFUL :-D i wish we get a good shot of her face too cuz she is truely a beautiful woman

  • But... The music seems to be different...

  • Thx! The others have horrible scratchy music

  • does anybody knows the title of this music and artist? thanks!

  • the whole album is called secret garden. very tasty music

    i love it!

  • yes..i love this one

  • Dancer not from Tai or Dai, from Bai ethinic. She's the ONE make Dai dance beautiful. Not Dai itself. hehehe...I understand you try to related with her. But she's Chinese. only speak & read Chinese. smile...

  • ... Erh.... I never said she's Dai. The dance is a modern form of Dai dance, but everyone knows that she's Bai.

  • dai, zhuang, lao,li,bai, tai, shan have a very related spoken language. dai, lao, tai and shan languages are 95% similar

it was only 1949 when the red army annexed sipsongphanna, 12000 rice fields

  • Give me a break! 西双版那 (XiShuangbana) is protection of forest area, not rice fields. Please read history before telling me you thought you know!!

  • .sipsongphanna is what its called and no matter how you would like to twist names, its always be will.

taidam is the people but you twist this as dai, their center of culture lies in Laos.

this doesn't change that the red guard annexed it

I know my people history and culture

I know also european ,eygtian, japanese, british, mayan, chinese, indian, aztec and mongolian, central asian history.

I speak mandarin, so don't get cheated.I speak 6 languages

it is you who lack knowledge of history

  • West of China didn't grew rice. only east of Yangzhing river area, Jiangnan. That is why West of china make our GDP poor.

  • sipsongphanna a name developed from a village settlement centuries ago. where did I say that every mountain valley were rice fields. you have a strange case of picky and baseless argument.

tell me where your xishuangbana come from? a corrupt characters compile to sound like sipsongphanna? taidum name was give centuries ago before your chinese version. goto laos ,thailand, on shan area in Mymmar and say 'xishuangbana' it means nothing

  • Red guard and red army are same thing? they lived through different period. Anyway, wasting time talking with some one who 100% correct, others "twisted".

  • omg its sooo beautifulll!!!!

    I want her dress ^^

  • me too!!!:D hahah:D

  • yes,Tai,Dai and shan are the same.the name Dai have been given by Chinese,Ahom by india,Shan by burma .but We call ourselve Tai

  • awesome!

  • Beauty beyond belief... a dance that has its soul.

  • Ignorance is worse than sin,Sipsongbanna have been recorded in Laos history.Dont try to twist our history, the name Dai have been given by Chinese,we call ourselve Tai,beside the Tai migrated from Altai mountain of Mongolia ,that's how the name Tai come from.

  • Yea Tai/Thai and Dai are completely different. Nevertheless, I looooove Dai peacock dances. So gorgeous!

  • ^ no, its pronounced like "DIE". and they're not "ancestors", they still exist today in places near thailand like yunnan.

  • I love Dai or Tai dance; pronounce with hard "D" or "T" similar to Thai. FYI: DAI PEOPLE ARE THE ANCESTOR OF TODAY THAI, LAO, AND BURMESE (SHAN).LOVE THE DANCE OF THE PEACOCK!

  • so beautifulllllllll
