  • the vines are spinning counter-clockwise.. is that related to the coriolis effect?

  • its searching......

    scary

  • Lmfao I love their little dance to find support! And also how when the one on the left funds support on the left pole, then the middle one finds support on the left vine, then it gets bitch slapped and it got offended so it went to live with the right vine. Ahahahahaha lmfao xD

  • Do you know the degree of curling in an hour, Before and After it found support?

  • mornin' glories!

  • LOOOL!!! NICE!:D I've never seen it before

  • that was so cool!

  • What a Twist!

  • I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH!!

  • why does the vid always stop at 10?

  • Whoaa freaky plant is freaky!

  • winning motion of sheen

  • For some reason I imagine the vines roaring as they spin around in circles.

  • how much did the tendrils curl per a decimeter?!

  • @simsim980 Electrons and planets orbit either way, it depends which way you look at them

  • Another Fascinating Counter Clockwise Signature of Gods Creation .... Counter Clockwise is seen from the smallest of creation (Electrons Orbit Atom Counter Clockwise) and seen in the Largest of Creation (Orbit of the Planets and moon) and The Counter Clockwise Motion of the Earths Rotation. Gods Counter Clockwise signature is also seen in Hajj (Pilgrimage to the Holy city of Becca) Nowadays called Mecca Pilgrims Orbit The Holy House Counter Clockwise.

    Gods Universal signature Unifies all

    Salam

  • @simsim980 Shove it up your ass, Just cause you dont understand the nature of things doesnt mean its proof god did it

  • nature is weird.

  • This is too cool.

  • That was facinating...it was as if it was aking, "Where's the pole?...where's the pole?...where the pole?.......ahhh there you are!",..then happily wraps itself around it, no doubt with a secure feeling. Well done.

  • bello,a modo suo ,minimalista...ma bello

  • excuse me i just got my morning glory, how long did it take for you to make this video?

  • It looks like a snake trying to get up a tree!

  • Hmmm, after seeing this I wonder if I should just have my morning glory plants climb a pole or stick instead of a trellis I built, any thoughts?

  • this was really awkward, but interesting.

Ronaldo, é verdade que você não pode mais rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraspaaar a cabeça?

  • that really weird! 5 stars.

  • So naturally beautiful! Thanks.

  • awesome

  • this was really good

    kudos :)

  • that was unsettling :)

  • sweet video

  • LOVE this!

Someone did an experiment once where as soon as the different test vines located the provided support, the support was then moved to a different location.

After a while, the vines "gave up" and went into apathy/dejection, and no matter how tantalizingly close the offered support was then placed, the vine ignored it.

    All life is....alive.

  • :) :) .... :) :) :) :)

    :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • beautiful

  • Amazing!

  • best video i've seen

  • This is a fantastic way of seeing. We can learn so much by the environment around us. Thank you.

  • NOW SHOW US PAINT DRY!!!

  • Isn't nature awesome!

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

  • Wow they look like some kind of nematode worm!

  • awsome i never knew that they did that curly thing

  • Wow, I knew vines circle their way up the stick or pole but I had no idea that they spin on their own for a while until they latch on. GREAT video!

  • Fascinating. I always wondered how vines always managed to find things to climb.

  • My favourite thing about this video is it's a crazy trippy timelapse right, but it's of a MORNING GLORY. anyone ever really look into that? Morning glory seeds (especially the heavenly blues) contain the active ingredient LSA which if you might have noticed is very close to LSD. So next time I munch down on about a half thousand morning glory seeds, I'm gonna come watch this video.

  • I want to make a garden this summer, I will not buy any of my vegetables, such as cucumber, tomatoes, beans and whatever I can plant to eat, im going green, it is organic and healthier. if each of us planted his own, maybe that would help solving world hunger.

  • Try posting comments that are apt next time.

  • well it is vine growing, it is green, it resamble vines of green beans, u know, so yeah I was talking about the topic, plant one seed u get a tree, feel itchy eh jesse.

  • during world war ii they promoted victory gardens to make more food available for soldiers. Perhaps would help, but I have a hunch that the effects would not last

  • To think that I thought watching grass grow was cool!

  • That's amazing!

  • in fastmotion it really looks like their living

  • DNA

  • that was very cool. I didn't know they spin around looking for something to climb on. I thought they just feel around. Very interesting. Love morning glories.

  • They are not "looking" for anything to climb on, they are following the sun! It just so happens that there is a stick there in the way and thus, instead of knocking it out of the way or avoiding it, the plant starts going around the stick. It is still following the sun and appears to be "climbing" up the stick.

  • That was like one day's growth. unless they were spinning the plant around all day or then sun was behaving very strangely, it was not following the sun. Actually the plant spins by the addition of new cells in a spiral pattern as it grows

  • are those two plants?

  • wtf are you going on about?

  • nasty ¬¬

  • You can learn alot from that.

  • KEWLLLLL!!!!!

  • alive!! they just move hella slow

  • woww.......

  • does this creep anyone out? Reminds me of snakes.

  • islam is not for me!

  • needed more "you spin me right round baby right round"

  • haha, genius

  • ahhh slow motion tentacle rape lol

  • Just watch Planet Earth..

  • OMFG

  • romantic.

  • : )

  • I haven't words for this.

    Nature ruls!

  • thx a good vid

  • It's alive! And it means no harm! Kill it!!

  • AHAHAH!

  • I always like to imagine that, in the forest, the trees and plants being wrapped find the company of vines comforting. Although my romantic notions are tempered by being told that plants are quite competitive too.

  • Same as Zex, how does it not just turn into a big knot by rapping on itself. It seems to distinguish what to grab onto.

  • It's not aware of anything, itself or its surroundings, it's a plant. The reason this works is through millions of years of evolution.

The vines with the right characteristics passed on their genes, which in this case means the object the vine wraps around has to be stiff enough for the end of the vine to stop and cling to. It doesn't wrap around itself because the vine itself is not sturdy enough to withstand the twining motion created from its growth pattern.

  • That's kinda what I was thinking... that's probably right though now that I think about it. Evolution is cool.

  • Very scary stuff!! How do they know not to vine over themselves!?!?

  • cloverfield

  • Hey digg.

  • I have fake vines up it my room. I love vines. It would have been great if this video was longer.

  • niceee

  • this is really neat!

  • This is beautiful, thanks for posting!!

  • i love vines they give so much privacy and thats what i like !!!

  • cooooool

  • That is REALLY cool!

  • crazy. like something from that movie day of the triffids. Glad to be able to move faster than them, huh?

  • Is that what these are, morning glories?? I have these vines all over my yard this summer and couldn't figure out what they were. Pretty cool!

  • You might have the version that is a nasty weed, called "bindweed." Good luck.

  • That is very interesting and kind of scary in a way...
