Life is: What do you want? Sir Uwaifo may not have been played on a large scale like his compeers but the truth remains that the life later blessed him. He is a lesson in steadfastness as he was rewarded with the honor of being a Commissioner in Edo State govt Executive Council. His flamboyant guitar sound is unbeatable. His "Jojo" is a household track in West Africa.
I hate to waste my time on DEAD MISANTHROPES! If Lucky ruled Edo or ruminated in it does not detract from the fact that Sir Victor Uwaifo was a serving Commissioner and doled out orders as a member of the State Executive Council. Benin City is my witness! I am just wondering... When will YOU be ELECTED the grand Messiah who MUST better the lots of EDO and so reward Sir Uwaifo better than Lucky did? Pray hard, let God do it.
Of the more considerable musicians Nigeria has produced Sir Victor Uwaifo is perhaps the most under-appreciated. He called his band the Maestroes, and indeed Uwaifo was one of the earliest true maestroes we ever had, along with Bobby Benson and Hubert Ogunde (who was also a major musician apart from being Nigeria's leading folk dramatist). Part of the reason was because Uwaifo was too localized, playing mainly to his Edo-Bini crowds, a bind that his successors have not escaped from even now.
One of SVU's best Ekassas!

The smooth coordination of the rhythm is enchanting. It points to the fact that Jazz and blues had their roots in African music.

The same guy sacked the disable people that were employed in the Edo state arts and culture. You were there!

The beat reminds me of Jimmy Cliff's "Bongoman".

@TerrierBram "It is similar to Dub." Wait...Scratch that. Reverse it....Dub is similar to this.

@kyleturner16 If they are similar that doesn’t matter. But if a matter is a fact the roots of Dub, version, and Dub itself are from before 1973.
