  • Is that Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents at 5:50 ??

  • Yeah, that Outrider feature was totally added to the toy.

  • I want the wonder world!

  • Why is the dad in the Cheerios commercial dressed exactly like Urkel?

  • Matthew McConaughey is as funny as Jim Carrey!

Was that a compliment, even back then?

  • I had the Teacher Barbie! :D

  • ahhhh nothing like watching tv on saturday mornings with a huge ass bowl of cereal.

  • The guy in the Pop-Tarts commercial is Daran Norris, whose best known for doing the voice of Cosmo and Mr. Turner on Fairly OddParents, as well as Spotswoode in Team America: World Police. He also played Gordy The Janitor on Ned's Declassfied School Survical Guide and was one of the leads in the MST3K-ified film, Hobgoblins.

    The More You Know.

  • kid in the honey nut cheerio commercal is the son from the bernie mac show

  • OMG Who is the guy in the poptart commercial xD

  • 1:00 - :29 The Star Wars ad 'did' have Mark's voice.

  • 8:35 the dad from My Brother & Me

  • Anyone get one of those wonder world things? Did they work, or was it like most kid-toys, generally a let-down?

  • @Bluegoo It definitely worked and was pretty neat. The gel did dry out eventually, but it was fun while it lasted.

  • Back when you could get away with a name like "Suicide Squeeze" in a children's product.

  • The 90's was a perfect time to grow up in :,)

  • Get a good night sleep.. with me baby. >:)

  • I was scared of the haunted highway commercial when i was 4, i remember it well, i didn't look at tv for weeks lol

  • Man I always wanted to get a Wonder World when I was a kid, I thought they were so cool.

  • TIME CRUISERS!!

  • What's wrong with me? I'm a 25 year-old male, and I somehow remember all the lyrics to the "Teacher Barbie" Jingle...

  • It's always amazing to see the Twin Towers still standing in old footage.

  • in regards to the twin dolls "hey kids, it's fun to be an over worked mother, just look at how much fun this child is having by spending every waking moment taking care of two annoying dolls. Doesn't that sound like fun! By our product and you too could be an over worked mom!"

  • oh cris crassara

  • 7:03 ha ha lol i laughted out loud the first time me and my teacher saw it during class

  • 6:04 they used the stargate puddle.....that makes little too no sense, but it was still awesome

  • 5:36 Daran Norris!!!!

  • 5:37 OHMYGOSH!!!!! It's Daran Norris!!! The voice of Cosmo on Fairly Odd Parents!!! Seeing that randomly made my day!!!!! :D

  • i remember when pop tarts used to come in those boxes

  • James and the Giant Peach?! That was the second movie I saw in a theater, first in NYC. Ah, to be 6 again.

  • I got James and the giant Peach on DVD

  • Oh yes, Kate Mulgrew almost naked!!!

  • in the first commercial the guy talking sounds like Cell from the English dub of DBZ.

  • 3:03 .... we will all miss you

  • i never thought i would be looking up commercials up on youtube

  • I always wanted haunted highway and wonderworld but my parents were all like "those are boys toys", pissed me off. Wonderworld wasn't!

  • Wow okay so i totally still know all the words to most of these theme songs.. especially All That :) Love it!

  • OMG THAT WAS THE NEDS DECLASSIFIED JANITOR IN THE POP TARTS COMMERCIAL

  • @PrudencePwnsAll yep thats gordy

  • Hey it's that boy in the Bernie Mac show? yep.. Just looked it up. Such a cute little kid.

  • LOL Red Lobster used to be so cheap!

  • lego ftw

  • 3:03 :(

  • I so had those time machine legos btw! haha...legos = best thing ever!

  • did anyone notice that the voice of the guy narrating the commercial for Mystery Mansion is the guy who does the voice of Jafar in Aladdin?

  • I had the earlier, non-electronic version of Mystery Mansion. I remember playing it several times and enjoying it.

That auto pawn ad looks like it cost less money than that car--not when it was new, not in 1996, but it looks like it cost less than that car is worth today. I hope Monterey has a good public transportation system.

I'm farily certain that a commercial showing the Macarena would ensure that I never set foot in that store.

  • -The announcer for 'Tyco Haunted Highway" kind of sounds like James Earl Jones.

    -I still love Pop-Tarts.

-Wow, that Wonder World thing is cool.

-"Take Care Of Me Twins", That is just stupid and gross.

-"Monterey Peninsula Auto Pawn". Did that lady do that skit drunk?

    -

  • haha i remember those tyco cars

  • 6:00 WOW!!! I forgot all about that toaster and how awesome he was!!!!! lol!

  • LMFAO. i was born 1996 xDD

  • i actually remember when pop tart boxes looked like that!

  • I wanted Mystery Mansion so bad... I think I even finally talked my mom into buying it for me... but then I don't remember playing it more than once. Wasn't as fun as it looked in the commercial.

  • @fortunateizzi Same here! I begged and begged for that game and when I got it for Christmas, my sister and mom thought it was too involved and never played with me. Board games aren't so fun alone.. lol

  • LOL being a 90s kid

toys/games: game of life, hungry hippos, connect4, mystery manshion, powerwheel

    foods: dunkaroos, oreos, gushers, pushpops

movies: lion king, parent trap, toystory, Matilda

  • Voyager! AND Wonder World! :-D

  • DAMN my momory is good. I remember most of these commercials. I was six!

  • I was just wondering when poptarts switched to the 8 pack! Now I know! I always knew they started as a 6 pack!

  • omg haha I loved watching James and the Giant Peach! I was born in 93' so it was huge by the end of the 90's!!

  • the toys were bad ass back then

  • The announcer for that wonder world commercial sounds strikingly similar to the voice announcer for CBS Sports in the late 90s and early 00's. If you watched any of their sportscasts back then, namely NFL games, he would say "the NFL on CBS is sponsored by (such and such company). Also he would say "CBS sports welcomes you to the following presentation of the national football league"

  • james and the giant peach is a classic

  • I remember the Wonder World!!!!! OMGOODNESS!!!! I remember that commercial VIVIDLY. I did NOT understand it... but I remember the shark and how they added blood. haha

  • 1+2 isn't 10? I've been lied to my whole life

  • omgg!

i love james and the giant peach!

    one of my favorites!

  • @brec0mpton same here! Although that shark things creeped me out! lol

  • OMG. I had that teacher barbie thing. so many memories. its probably around my house somewhere still.

  • My mom bought me a Teacher Baribe that year. I was like 6 years old and I still have it

  • "Matthew McConaughey is as funny as Jim Carrey"

    Best letter of recommendation, ever!

  • @DizzyedUpGirl lmao!!!

  • It was going great....

    until that last commercial.

  • I had a Wonder World, except my mom decided she wanted to make it instead :(

That Honey Nut Cheerios commercial is adorable ^_^

  • It took me nearly a year to find Dash Rendar's Outrider. I finally found it in a sketchy ass mall. What do you know, I still have it.

  • Hey, that's the Dad from My Brother and me @ 8:35

  • "What's one plus twoo?"

    "Ten?"

    xD

  • YES ! HNC !!!

  • I love James and the Giant Peach!!

(I have it on DVD so yaay!!!) XD

  • i usee to have these volumes of 60's commercials they were the shit.

    XxLola tokes

  • Comment removed

  • I remember that Haunted Highway commercial.

  • 9:32 LOL at that guy who jump into the screen.

  • Oh my god, I had that Mystery Mansion board game. I loved playing it, until I found a cockroach crawling around inside it one day. Never opened it again :\

  • That kid from Honey Nut Cheerios, he's on the "Bernie Mac Show."

  • There was a kid on my block who seemed to have all the legos....I still hate him.

  • lol u have to pay 7.99 for a lobster tail now :(

  • I miss the 90's

  • I like the Lego Time Cruisers advert 1:30

  • That Pop Tart guy is the janitor from Ned Declassified School Survivor Guide on Nick

  • I had the slave 1 ship and I remember that damn wing kept breaking off LOL

  • Damn....I wanted that Haunted Highway racetrack so bad as a kid. :XD:

  • is the kid that's in the cherrio commerical on the bernie Mac show he looks and sound just like him

  • Wow the Wall st commerical Prop 211 twin towers :(

  • Thats Mark Hamill doing the narrative voice for the Star Wars toys. For those how can remember him playing the Joker in Batman the Animated Series, you can here it. Also, the black couple at the beginning of the Red Lobster played mom and dad on the old Nickelodeon show My Brother and Me.

  • Mystery mansion? lookes like the game, Clue! I think my cousins had this game, the pices look awfully familiar. :/

  • lol the bed dude haha

  • Haunted HIGHWAY !!! lol

  • man, i wanted every single one of these toys.

  • Was that Hayden Panttiere in that Barbie commercial???

  • It kind of looks like her I guess, but I think she would've been too young.

  • Yeah she was only about seven @ the time.

  • I don't think she'd be that young. I was almost five when this came out, and she's a few years older than I am. So it could possibly be her.

  • She would have only been six or seven at the time (And that's assuming this commercial is even from '96). The girl in this looks older than that...nine or ten at least.

  • Yeah and you gotta remember Hayden was like eleven-ish when she was in Remember the Titians in 2000, so that would make her around 7 at the time of this commercial?

  • @80sCommercialVault It isn't her.

  • fiary pawnmother lol

  • Sheesh, I am such a 90's kid. And wasnt tbat the janitor from neds declassified in the pop tart commercial?

  • 2:40

    I found this very funny.

  • My back aches are DESTROYING MY LIFE!!

  • I was never able to make Wonder World as nice as they seem in the commercial. I guess you really did need the distilled water.

  • Heeeey, bad decision! *clap*

  • I've watched too many Pop Tarts commercials already. I am gonna buy some today.

  • HAHA! There is a place in my town called 'Dead Man's Curve'.

  • I was 5 in '96. :D

  • i was 13 and now im old T.T XD

  • James and the Giant Peach! My teacher read that book to us after lunch for 'story time' and then we watched the movie, loved it!

  • Shadow of the Empire was a great novel and a great video game.

  • 7:35 it jordan from the bernie mac show!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeremy Suarez ahhhhhh he's soooooooo cute !!!!!!!!

  • MYSTERY MANSION!!!

  • OH MY GOD! The guy in the TV in the Pop Tart commercial is Cosmo from Fairly Odd Parents (and Spotswood from Team America)!

  • NO its not

  • I mean he does their VOICE. He even sounds a bit like Spotswood (and Timmy's dad in FOP).

  • AHH! I knew I recognized him! He looked and sounded so familiar but I couldn't seem to place him. Thanks, it was really bugging me.

  • I certainly remember that Wonder World commercial. Of course, nowadays they'd NEVER show blood in a commercial for a children's toy...real or implied. Meh.

Oh, and Take Care of Me Twins? I searched a long time for that commercial. It sounded so much more appealing when I was a kid...

  • lol at the furniture mart one.. hes goin all over the place :)

  • Since the "Star Trek Voyager" promo tells me this was a secondary UPN station (as was KION), what other UPN shows aired on these two stations?

  • Aw! James and The Giant Peach! I remember that frickin' commercial had me saying, "I want that for my very own!" XD

  • Larger than life? Don't remember that one...

  • *pours out a 40 for hand-drawn cartoons*

  • I agree with your sentiment, but there aren't really any hand-drawn cartoons in this video. ???

  • ya, but the 'james and the giant peach' commercial made me think about how gross most cgi is lol

  • James And The Giant Peach wasn't CGI, it was stop motion. But I agree with you about most CGI these days.

  • ahhhh *is enlightened* :)

  • Lil homey made it rain at 0:26!!! LOL

  • I had the Luke Skywalker figure at 1:14. I always wondered where that red suit came from because it was not in any of the movies.

  • If you're wondering, "Shadows Of The Empire" was a novel/comic book/video game that was heavily promoted by Lucasfilm in 1996. The action figures were based on that, not the films.

  • I had Teacher Barbie, the 90's were awesome

  • rotfl wonder world! ADD BLOOD. wonderful.

  • This was before the time Peta was a world power because they would have blown a fuse with that Wonder World commercial.

  • Voyager!... before Jeri Ryan came on and saved the show... =D!

  • 6:05 - I ALWAYS wanted that!

  • It just makes me want to go back...

  • OMG Darran Norris in a pop tart commercial, so cool. I only hear his voice as Cosmo and Timmy's dad in Fairly OddParents. BTW I had that teacher barbie doll, I liked playing with it, until I lost the dolls. Happy 50th birthday Barbie.

  • Had the Wonder World. Dad tipped it over. Dad said words I never heard before at the age of eight.

  • holy shit my friends knows that pop tart guy!

  • i <3 mark hamill

  • i had a happy child hood in the 90s

  • My brother had that lego thing! I remember that googly eyed guy.

  • I remember James and the Giant Peach!

  • You are cool! These commercials are funny as well as good memories.

  • That is Mark Hamill narrating. He is also narrating another commercial you posted.

  • You are right lol. Years later and having the Joker in your head helps.

  • Hmmm, I think I had that Barbie, and I remember a lot of these commercials. Haha I think I had the take care of me twins too, or maybe they were my sisters, either way I think we had them.

  • Shadows of the Empire was an awesome line. I've read through the book a few times.

  • I remember wanting a Wonder World, and I vividly remember the Honey Nut Cheerios commercial.

  • those toys were awesome

  • I LOVE James And The Giant Peach! that was my favorite show! I thought James was cute xD ( I was young! what could I do?)

  • OMG! I remember a lot of this stuff! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • Oh man I actually have James and The Giant Peach on VHS! Also could you upload the commercials you have from South Park, I want to see some TV promos that aired for that show back in 97-98

  • The South Park stuff may go up when I'm fully exhausted of earlier stuff. That will probably be awhile.

  • Nice job with those old commercials, I've never seen this in years, but I was 18 at the time back in my Anderson School days where they showed these commercials that are kid oriented. WNYW-TV (channel 5) in New York City aired the same TV commercials when it was part of "Fox Kids" (now "Jetix") weekday afternoon or Saturday morning lineup except a few local commercials that are NYC generic.

  • This was at the time, the Yankees won the World Series for the first time since 1978 at the beloved Yankees Stadium and Charlie Hayes made the final catch in the foul territory. This was October, 1996 where Fox the telecast of the World Series.

  • This was also the year that I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons for good, because I'm a young adult at the time and I started to watch movies except the only Saturday morning cartoon that I watched was the "Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show". ABC and NBC was given up the Saturday morning schedule to make way for news show including the weekend editions of the "Today" show and "Good Morning America" and of course the "One Saturday Morning" lineup. This is where it goes downhill.

  • that sucks. I want to have a time machine right now. NOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy crap I remember the wonder world things, I got one for my birthday I think. It too forever to do anything with it though because at the time we couldn't find distilled water whic it needed. Once we got it, it never worked as good as it shows in the commercial.

  • Holy crap, I had a Lego Timecruisers set, can't remember which one though..

  • I heard Cris Casara is doing the sea walk, next.

  • 1996? Straying quite a bit from your stated time period, aren't we now?
