Thank you so much,Laurie！As you mentioned,this song is a vintage of 1969.The author started his career as a chanson singer when he was a high school boy.And in 70's folk music movement,he became famous as a singer & song writer ,sometimes called Japanese　Jose　Feliciano. In recent years,he has collaborated with young musicians like Shiina　Ringo(female rock musician).I'm glad to hear you love Japan and Japanese　tastes.Please enjoy,and try sushi,too.Hirotoshi.
