  • Watching this made me think that if you had a time machine you could go back to the middle ages with this, and then engage in a seance. Tuning in higher frequencies would call in good spirits, while the lower would summon bad entities.....ok, yes....this kind of music gives me trippy thoughts without drugs ;)

  • Awesome build!

how did you increase the speed of the sequencer?

mine seems to have a very slow top speed of less than 100bpm.

    HELP!

  • That really nice work - So the ribbon controller is sending a gate as well as vc ? - did you - make the ribbon yourself ? what materials ? I was just thinking about adding one to my settup Thanks for putting this up

  • WOW!! This thing is fantastic! Well done!!

Just about to start building my own d.i.y. analog synth.

I was thinking of trying to some how make a sx150 and an 1980's yamaha pss hybrid thingy where i could use the pss keyboard to play the sx150 bypassing the stylus while still using the pss sounds mixed through another sx150.

    Any thoughts?

Better still, would you sell me a copy of your schematic for your megabeast?

    Would help tons!!

Any how, all the best with any future projects!

  • @paulbrown06 Thank you very much. You know, I actually have a Yamaha PSS series keyboard at home too that I have been working on a bit... essentially, anything that generates a squarewave can control the sx-150. Believe it or not, I actually just clipped the positive and negative wire from the internal speaker and hooked them to the input jack on the SX-150 and I got results. I want to create a wood cabinet for the yamaha that matches the mega mod.

  • @seanrieger

Wow!! Thanks for the info! I've got hold of a yamaha pss 130 and I'm defo gonna give that a go today! ;)

Will keep you posted and thanks again!

  • @paulbrown06 As for schematics, unfortunately, I don't have any ( I am still learning how to read them, much less write them )There are a few different schematics for the SX-150 out there that pretty clearly label everything. I'll look through and see what I can send you. Basically, I went off of those, and experimented in the most professional manner of "I wonder what would happen if I touched this wire to this lead" fashion. ;-)

  • @seanrieger

No probs! I can't read schematics neather but was just grasping to the hope i'd maybe make some sense of it lol! as for the "I wonder what would happen if I touched this wire to this lead" fashion, same here! usualy get good results too. I know it's all in the true spirit of curcuit bending but I do sometimes feel like a flooky cheating bugger when i make a great littke sound machine but have no idea how i got there! lol.

  • great melody

  • well if this isnt just the best DIY Synth i've seen since i started looking,,, none other is. awesome job!

  • @rhoggard76 Thank you very much. It was a lot of work, but I learned a ton in the process of building it.
