PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE HAVING TROUBLE WITH SAVES SAVES WONT WORK

You have to make the "out" folder in (C:) >program files (x86) >Dead Island NOT "DI"

It's the folder that the game application is in, I really hope this helps.

Random my laptop is 992 mb ram and it doesn't have that black screen....

IT IS NOT PROBLEM OF VIDEO CARD.

I had sound but a black screen. All I did was go to the dead island foyer in documents then 'out' folder then 'settings' folder and there will be two files 'audio' and 'video'. U want to delete the video file. If u want copy the file to ur desktop if ur not sure wot ur doing. Hope this helps. If u want I can do a vid on it. Just inbox me on my channel HeavyGunnerBalls.

if u get a message that says something like it can find D3DX9_43.dll then just google it.after u download it put it into ur dead island folder.when u try to start the game at that point it will tell u that ur missing another file,do the same as u did with D3DX9_43.dll.then it will tell u its missing another file,again just download it and do the same as with D3DX9_43.dll.then u will b able to start the game but u wont have sound :(

The d3dx9_43.dll link you have in your description doesn't work. After the add it has a 404 error at the top and takes you to a computer help page.

when it try and do the single player way run as administrator it says "this application has failed to start because d3dx9_43.dll was not found.

Re-installing the application may fix this problem
