  • what software is this and how much is it

  • Hey; Which Soft did u use pls tell me i Luv to design a Car....xD

  • When you cut out the MDF slithers, is the top edge still square? or does the machine cut an angle into the top edge? Howdy from Australia.

  • i was searching for better ways to molding.. i think i could use this technique and yup.. this is a clever way to do it.. you are a genius.. thanks a lot.

  • @snorves Thanks, I hope it helps let me know if you have other questions.

  • @snorves

It looks like maya 2009... fricken expensive software. Hello pirate bay.

  • @bigBadSweed Nope its 3ds Max, but still expensive. You can get educational versions of the site if you are a student or unemployed.

  • @BaileyBlade

OH wow haha it is! I cant believe I didnt recognize it! I went to school for for 3d animation, I should know the diff haha. Have you been able to take the finished produce to the track yet? I havnt had a chance to watch all the videos you have up, so if it exists in video form, i apologize in advance!

  • @BaileyBlade can you actually use this method with a 3 axis cnc to actually cut and piece together an entire foam car? instead of having a wood skeleton and filling in the gaps with foam and actually carving the foam.

  • ....very nice car design ****top****, you´re doing a great job with this build !!!

...can you tell me how you done the output of the sections to pdf_file directly from 3ds ?

...iám using 3ds MAX portable to create my very first car design....greetz from AUSTRIA

  • @subrotatus1 In 3d Max you can save/export your work as a .ai file (Adobe Illustrator) If you have Illustrator then you load the files in there and edit or do what ever you need, then save the file as a PDF direct from Illustrator. There are other programs that can do the same thing but i use Illustrator. Also check out my new site and forums I am planing on using this to cover all the details. Feel from to sign up and start a new topic. cardesignersandbuilders(dot)com

  • @BaileyBlade ....thanks for reply, meanwhile i managed the section output with google sketchup!!! but i also got the illustrator and will try it later. Lets see what your new site is offering, good work

  • i just designed a model of a submarine that i made. Is this software free. Furthermore my comptuer is a 8.5 gb max capacity gateway computer can that handle this software?

  • @jgbadboyz 3D max is not free, its pretty expensive. You should look at using Blender, or Google Sketch Up, they have free versions and are pretty powerful.

  • Amazing work..

  • nice car

  • Where do u get the design or the program to get it

  • @proracer4life The design is mine, I am not giving it out. The program is 3D Studio Max.

  • How u get that on ur computer

  • @proracer4life Well for one I did not get it on the computer I designed made it on the computer first. Then built the car in full scale. This video shows you how I got it to full scale accurately.

  • whats a basic and simple type program?

  • @NorkiddExo look for a program on Google called - blender.org.

  • BIG THANK YOU MATE :)

  • what 3d programs can i use to design me a car like that, and where can i get my wood cut for my mock up?

  • @chris41102 Look at using Blender, search it on Google. Its free and very powerful. as for cutting out the wood your can do it your self with a jig saw or find someone in your area with a CNC router or water jet system. CNC will be the most accurate method of cutting wood.

  • witch programm is that what your using????

  • It's 3D Studio MAX

  • looks like a dodge viper plus a bmw z4 placed on a honda s2000... nice

  • wow dat ziet het moelijk uit om tebouwen

  • @DtIeER Yeah it's not easy thats for sure.

  • @BaileyBlade haha is er ook 1 3D programma waar je 1 car kent bult a car ant drive in the car??

  • Is this downloadable

  • man u r my greatest guru........fantastic.....you not only building your sharing your knowledge thats great...keep up good work. I will follow the build .....one day may be I wish to start a build like this...

which 3d software is that exactly?

  • That would be 3DS max or 3D Studio Max. Its what the pros use for video games alot of the time.

  • Yep. Not really the best for actually creating a car but good for expressing your creative ideas. We should have used a more Engineering based program from the start.

  • @Kyrazlan ---

where can i find this program

  • @LeXxXuS90 For one the program is expensive, for two its hard to learn without classes/tutorials. I think retail is $3500. If you want to dl it im sure you can get an older version from a torrent or something.

  • what is the software called

  • What is the name of the program ??

  • Bailey Blade do u do custom work for customers or friends like wide body kits if u do how would u priced???

like 6½" wider in front & 9" wider in the back

  • where u create that car...what program../w me fast!!!

  • Did you use a usb drawing pad?sorry im going to school for this and want to know a little more about it.

  • No did not use a drawing pad, just used the mouse and tools in the program. A drawing pad would have been nice to use though, especially for concept drawings.

  • so did you create the car on the program or did you scan a clay model?

  • No I design and created the car free hand in CAD.

  • I would like to say that you guys are a true inspiration. For a while i've been trying to do the same, make a fibreglass car. Thanks to your videos, now I am really understanding how it works. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the tutorials please keep on making them.

  • Thanks we have many more videos coming.

  • Nice car has a good blend of the classic and modern designs. In one of video's you talked about a mold maker. How did you find the mold maker you are going to use for your car. I am trying to make parts for my Subaru WRX STI out of carbon fiber but i dont know how to go about making the molds for the rear spoiler. I dont want to use a two piece process to make the spoiler. I would like to make it in one piece but the mold is giving me a bit of a problem. Nice video'sand good luck with the car.

  • Well there are a few Mold Maker local to us that we contacted. Their a many though out the US. I simply search Google and found them. With that said we may actually make and build our own molds now. At least for the first few test models.

  • As for your spoiler you will probably have to do a two or more piece mold. Carbon Fiber is real tricky to work with, especially if you want to show the carbon fiber look. There are a few videos on YouTube that show how to match up seems nicely. You may want to look around and see what you can find.

  • This made my brain over heat. I'll take a set of hammers, a bean bag, and english wheel anyday. Its Very cool though. Just wish I could figure it out.

  • LOL, you know what so would I. If I had an english wheel and bean bag I would probably be using it.

  • good I also use 3d max but I'm not so smart in it ... :) nice job, no it's much clear 2 me how to create that skelleton of the car

  • This is very very interesting to me! I am glad you posted this!

If you don't mind me asking: What program are you using?

  • 3D Max

  • looking forward to seeing the car go electric :)

no room for retro in the future. just saying.

I know you don't want to hear it now but you'll see

  • Good, we have special plans in that direction.

  • amazing! keep it up guys looking forward to see more updates!

  • I love your tutorials, I am also fluent in 3DS max. Thanks!

  • Thanks man I hope it helps people out there understand more about the process.
