  • hey ace! glad to see your famous now, don't forget your favorite soda academy students haha

  • committing suicide is a crime, and if they are to mentally ill to know that they are killing themselves than what does it matter if we call it committing suicide?

    LOGIC

  • Allahu Akbar- believe in Allah Almighty- U'll be spared and saved!

  • @maryjoemontana he said he stays on a routine to stay above water, funniest thing I have ever heard!

  • She should go back to pole dancing.

  • hands down the worst interview I have ever seen...

  • who gave that girl this job??

  • he's an attention seeker. bravo well done you gained the attention

  • Sarah Hoxie is a fag

  • 30 hundred? You mean 3000? Yeesh

  • Hello, welcome, what did it feel like when you hit the water

what the fuck kind of shit interviewer is that

  • 40 hundred, WTF

  • up next, a guy who lived through jumping off the golden gate bridge...and WRESTLING!

  • @gutterballgrrl yes, what a combination!

  • I'm opposed to raising the railing. I think there are many more ways to save lives than putting up a higher railing. It will not allow the 1000's of others to see over the railing as it is, and with no intention of jumping to see over it as it is right now. It's a beautiful bridge as it was designed. I'm for better mental health services from birth, and how about universal health care? This should be a given.

  • Why does she sound so damn happy about this?! Ugh, this woman should be slapped.

  • You are a miracle, and I'm glad you are given back,

best of luck to you Kevin, keep up the good work and

    being an inspiration to many , because of you;

they don't feel alone. Many blessings. Nory

  • Brain is just an organ, like spleen, or lungs. And just like a person can have a pancreas that doesn't produce insulin, the same way you can have a brain that screws you over.

There's no stigma in taking meds, if anyone thinks it's okay to mock a person for taking anti-depressants - get some schoolin'.

Don't give up people, there's both meds and therapists out there that can help you. Death is inevitable, so why rush it anyway? You deserve to enjoy life.

  • this bitch sounds way too fucking happy...

  • I saw Kevin Hines speak a couple of months ago, amazing story. Be good to people, you just may change their day . . . I'll be running an ultramarathon in September to raise money for suicide prevention, please give to this terrific cause if you are able ! firstgiving. com/fundraiser/michael-english/swimbikerun

  • In "The Bridge," Kevin says at one point he just wishes to be "normal" and he never will be but looking at him now, he is more than just "normal." He is well-spoken and clearly successful. (And he has more charisma than the interviewer!) I'm very proud of him and what he has accomplished.

  • "to keep myself over the water"

  • The most popular bridge, or the most famous bridge?

  • I know this is a tragic topic, but this "host" is AWFUL. Was this filmed in a 9th grade vo-tech school for RTF?

  • @msk7046 lmfao

  • Glad he made it. It´s good to hear positive stories like this one, especially because other people in the same situation may understand that there is hope! By the way, terrible interviewer.

  • Suicide barrier in toronto had no statistical effect. Suicide by jumping from a height is the same as it was before 2003.

  • This girl that is conducting(if that's what you want to call it) is a bubbleheaded bimbo.

She asks questions and reacts similar to what a child would. Get a professional interviewer, please!

  • well were all a lil fucked up.. but some shit i dont get??

  • well were all a lil fucked up..

  • why not just put bulletproof glass across the bridge

  • @Mlocke69 Because it´s expensive as hell and no one wants to invest in, it´s a shame

  • Thirty-hundred suicides? You mean..three thousand?

  • @dannypoissant I think she meant 300 because only 1200 people have died on the bridge.

  • His a opinion is a bit biased, but some interesting points.

  • why is she speaking like shes happy.....

  • @xFridayFTW ya he is haha you should atleast have enough common sense to not jump off a 22 story building

  • kid at my school did it yesterday on a field trip he got a punctured lung and a broken tale bone. he didnt try suicide hes a bridge jumper but he wasnt smart enough to know it was to high

  • @QSRxHD i hate that kid. What a TOOL!

  • @Pinkin1211 yee yee

  • fucking horrible interviewer

  • That girl seems like an idiot.

  • god wasnt ready to take him yet

  • Having suffered depression in the past ,i know what these poor people are going through .My advice is to start exercising(cycling ) ,as this releases chemicals in our brains that make us feel good about ourselves .Well done john keep up the good work ,ignore childish comments from peabrains .

  • Bet this chick got some good pussy. All the dumb ones do

  • This girl is dumber than a box of rocks, but dam I'd love to see her with her legs behind her head

  • Thirty hundred? Shouldn't she have said three thousand?

  • @Naigg ahhahahaahah yea thats wat i was thinking

  • @Naigg Thirty hundred is also correct or acceptable usage. I.E. Fourteen hundred = 1,400.

  • >website so disgusting

    >told me easiest way to commit suicide in san fran

    he definitely went to 4chan.

  • so from what he's saying before he jumped his life was shit now after jumping & surviving he has a gr8 life.good message for suicide prevention hay.just like shooting massacre gunmen. one day your a loser a nobody the next your known around the world.what sort of message is that

  • She makes me cringe. Just so unnatural and untalented.

He, on the other hand, is a great speaker and his ideas make a lot of sense.

  • Geez, this interviewer gets right to the point. 1st question - Tell us about ur family (The man gives a 30 sec introduction into his upbringing and says what a good life he's had) 2nd question - What did u think about when you hit the water?! Random!! How about....Oh I dunno, ...what problems were you having that made you think about ending your life?

  • 0:58 LOL

  • "The thing I don't understand about the suicide person is the people that try to commit suicide and for some reason they don't die, and then that's it, they stop trying. Why don't they keep trying? What's changed? Is there life any better now? No in fact it's worse because now they found out here's one more thing you stink at."

    -Jerry Seinfeld

  • if jumped off higher cliffs :P

  • @Grendo147 yeah, er, I don't think so.

  • thanks to the interviewer for helping him get the word out to so many people.

  • I wanna have Teh Buttsecks with her

  • This chick sucks.

  • kevin came to my school today nd told us his story...i almost cried rlly o.o

  • Haha....30 hundred.

  • she called it an extention bridge. what an airhead

  • Thank you, Kevin. My sister didn't chose the Bridge... just a gun she bought on Valentine's Day. She was a beautiful, bright Librarian. Bipolar undiagnosed. Shame took her life in so many ways.

  • Mental problems are not diseases. Disease is such a an extreme word. People say alcoholism is a disease, and that, I believe, is not so.

  • @GameJourney You're wrong about that. Depression, alcoholism, etc. are brain disorders--diseases that can be objectively observed with MRI, Spect, etc. They are hereditary. They are also treatable with medication. You can't tell someone suffering from major depressive disorder to snap out of it. You treat the disease.

Think before you throw out ignorant statements like that. People are dying of these diseases. We need to recognize that and work together to change it.

  • @FreePercussion Alcoholism, which I stated specifically, is not and cannot be a disease.

  • Thrity Hundred? WTF? I can count to potato!

  • god spared him for a reason

  • What is 30hundred exactly?

  • This guys story is really touching. I saw him on 'The Bridge' documentary a few years ago. The woman interviewing is so crap!

  • I like Kevin and his story - I saw him in the Bridge as well - but I don't know about his claim that 90% of suicide victims are mentally ill. I think some people just get so far in a hole they don't think they can get back out... that's not an illness, that's just life. I also don't think a fence should be put up, that would be an awful lot of time and money to try to save a couple dozen lives a year especially when those people can just end it some other way just as easy.

  • @SkunkyAngry It's hard to know what percentage are mentally ill that go to the bridge but no doubt very high. It's hard to say but easy to see most if not all that go to the bridge aren't well period.

  • NO FUCKING WAY. There is a kid at my school named Kevin Hines

  • Sarah Hoxie, More like Sarah Hottie! Bad joke I know!

  • She's hot, doesn't matter.

  • wow

  • you can't cure everybody. some people have problems that cannot be cured

  • "my family before that was degenerate" LMAO!

  • I saw him when I watched the documentary "The Bridge." At the time he didn't seem as well spoken. I don't even think he had become a part of all these organizations. It's amazing to see all this progress he has made as a result of him surviving.

  • @EyeSowwyMama that is very true

  • @EyeSowwyMama A list of organizations but all relativity doing the same thing.

  • Howacome do Birds jump off the bridge everydays and the don't die??

Why maybe could have boats with trampolines patrol everywhere?

Susides are very sad & bad....must rise up and stop the ocaision.

  • I read that the problem with the fence is that with all the strong wind that travels down there past the bride putting up a fence will weaken it.

  • I would like to get under her pants

  • horrible interviewer...

  • Beautiful man. Inside and out.

  • my father killed himself but i really disagree with this guy. sure, the rates will drop if you build a fence... not rates in suicide, but rates in suicide via the golden gate bridge.... which solves what? nothing.

  • @Lemonhead86 and what happens to the people who are caught? the police probably detain them and then release them

  • kurwa pierdoli jak nawciągany pewnie nałykał sie jakichś przeciwbólowych i skoczył z najniższego pułapu haha...

  • how is HE on the mental health board?? he's a fuckin wackjob...Fuck em! Go jump again

  • this chick is retarded..

  • What a sweet man, I'm so glad he changed.

Gosh this woman really can't do a proper interview. She should be doing something where she doesn't have to open her freaking mouth. She sounds like she doesn't even care or is unable to mentally register what he's saying. 6:18 - Her mind is totally blank.

  • he's a lucky one

  • Kevin was spared for this reason...to help other people with thoughts of suicide. Kevin has come along way and is doing what he was meant to do. 2 thumbs up Kevin! Stay in the fight!

  • @noNWOgirl Tolkien said "a hundred hundred", does that make him three times more stupid?

  • This lady is a fucking bimbo.

  • bitch says that like a fucking proposal....

  • @MrBlue707 someone explain what this means..?

  • If I ever saw someone trying to jump I would try to save them. Some of these people just stand by and watch. Good for you Kevin. God was watching after you that day. You are doing something good in this world!

  • Humans decide their own fate! If they want to die, let them! It's their choice. Otherwise they will hang themselves which is in most cases a very unpleasant way to die.

  • @Exverlobter yes, but it's not as as simple as that. What about the innocent victims? The mother with young children? The partner left behind? The family members? The guilt? Most people who kill themselves are mentally ill, and they can be treated and helped, so they can live a better life. Depression is a chemical-producing illness, it can be treated, and a lot of tragic pain avoided.

  • host looks like Tera Patrick which made her tolerable

  • I saw this guy in "The Bridge" movie. Glad he seems to have gotten his life together and survives. Best wishes to him. But I really laughed when the girl says "WOW!"

  • when your not here because you chose to die you have left someone somewhere who will hurt forever, that's not suicide it's a grave misunderstanding, It solves nothing, it but hurts the ones you left behind who will take your sadness with them to their grave, and if you have no one, your hurting the chance you had to feel the sun against your skin, the rainbow that promised blue skies, and the ray of hope you denied yourself, someone does care even strangers that never met you , think againXXX

  • Is this a college program? It would explain this interviewer's lack of professional talent.

  • god damn put barbed wires.

  • Congrats to the guy.

  • @benjamwk but she's kind of hot

  • he wants to stay above water. . .

  • says that if they fence bridges metropolitan suicide is reduced 25%. that implies 25% of suicides are impulsive. which they probably are. not a bad return of people for the cost of a fence.

  • @ianupton:

people who succesfully kill themself will not be withhold by a damn fence...

  • lol...she says 30 hundred at :58

  • I know. WTF was that?? She's an idiot.

  • she actually says 13 hundred. i thought she said 30 hundred aswelll. i had to rewind it a bunch of times

  • benjamwk..........my thoughts exactly! This interviewer is like a high school student. Like.....wow....fer shure

  • I remember this guy from high school. Wow.

  • My grandmother's friend jumped off the golden gate and lived. she broke her legs and her back, luckily there was a boat right there that found her and rescued her. she jumped at midnight when it was dark so she was lucky they spotted her.

  • Comment removed

  • he says his back broke and put bone fragment through his body missing his heart like jesus did that for him hahaha. fucking jesus people.

  • It's amazing how no railings have been put up. It's incomprehensible to me.

  • jaguar at 75mph? at least he was going out in style!

  • irconchic713, that's a very disrespectful thing to say.

  • that wasnt disrespectful, it made me laugh :)

  • OMG i want to punch her, she talks like Paris Hilton. She's a crappy presenter, she sounds so un-natural

  • Kevin I'm glad that you're fine now and fighting against the disease!!! That's it!

  • did u notice the video time is 9/11 just odd haha

  • L1 ????????????????

  • The host is pretty hot!

  • It's easy to jump in front of a train too. People will kill themselves one way or another.

  • people can do what they please we dont live to please others we live to make are life best as we can.. or worst as we can.. its your life do what you want and what makes u feel happy.. only u can control it.. some times we cant control are death other times we can. its ur own choice.

  • She talks about the bridge and suicide like she is about to laugh. Omg omg, like you know the bridge is wow, like soo high. Why kill yourself, you like will miss out on life and stuff. Do you regret killing yourself? No, like i wish I died? Bless you Kevin for being brave despite this poor quality video. People will die regardless of a bridge, the bridge only an easy tool to find an end to a "fucked up" world and sick minds...

  • ....that was for whatyouknow222222...

  • this muthafucka is REALLY CRAZY!! i seen him in REAL life!

  • keep up the good work!

  • iI think she meant 13 hundred suicides have been committed on the bridge since it opened in 1937... but she had a little blooper.

  • yoo i thought kool she askeed kool questions don 0 nuthink rong hot damm i kool yoo yoo uppppppppppp

  • she has a mental disorder.

  • wow i hope she got fired after that interview. absolutely brutal.

  • @tteeesum

She isn't hosting the CBS Evening News. I thought she appeared to do her best.

  • loks like 70s camera quality

  • Comment removed

  • @collierscourt - this is like a local access TV show, what the hell do you expect from an inexperienced host? Isnt this a bit harsh to judge this girl on 9 minutes of her life? Get a life pal...

  • @deepcover5 All i can say is, yep - you're absolutely right. Not sure what set me off, I know that at the time i had just seen The Bridge and was very moved by Mr. Hines and his story - but I my comment was out of line and I'd like to apologize to Ms. Sarah Hoxie and anyone else i offended. The negativity on YouTube bothers me very much, and there i was contributing to it. I will remove the comment, but I wanted to post this first and hopefully she will see it. Thanks and i wish you the best...

  • @collierscourt What that was inspiring. Rarely do people admit they mistake and less often do they apologize. Nicely done and very respectable.

  • @Mcubed7107 Thanks for the kind words - have yourself a great day!

  • Is this interviewer a professional, I mean does she receive a salary for this, is this her day-job? Or is this like a student video? If she is, then how can anyone be SO bad at what they do without getting fired? She has absolutely no interpersonal skills, no presence and thus no place in front of the camera. Where did they find her?

  • 30 hundred hahaaa

  • what is this a promotion?

  • You dumb ass he was emphasizing the high speed that can be achived from that altitude....show a little respect retard!!! this man is real survivor...or do you think that he knew he was going to survive??? you are the little bitch!!!

  • this is so low quality....is this a broadcasting school interview or something?

  • Most popular bridge in the world? F*ck outta here. Brooklyn baby...look it up.

  • The interviewer should jump off the bridge!

  • hahahahaha, I second that

  • "Almost 30 hundred have died!" lol.

  • the girl is a dum bitch

  • my older brother went to school in san fran w/ this guy. funny about this, he was telling me that kevin told him that b4 he jumped he stood on the bridge crying, an older couple came up to him and ask him to snap a picture of them, disregarding the fact that he was indeed crying. he snapped the picture, waited 4 them to walk off and jumped! im so glad he lived as you can imagine, this guy has thrown some legendary parites in the park merced area of San Francisco!

  • all the people will end up killing themselves some other way.

  • The interviewer is awful!

  • I don't see how even continuing the chickenwire would deface the bridge. :( Saving 25+ lives a year is worth it.

But I'm glad to see Mr. H looking so much better than he did in the documentary.

  • @makenna88 those 25 people would kill themselves, regardless

  • That girl is retarded and he is a real inspiration to all those unstable . Good job Kevin!

  • i saw this guy in real life and listened to his speech. you could hear a pin drop in the room of 400 people. he is so inspirational. it is so scary imagining this happening. i'm so glad that this guy survived.

  • He's so different than he was in his interview in "The Bridge" he seems like he's doing a lot better. He's very intelligent and has turned his weaknesses into strengths. He has a lot to be proud about.

  • kevin your a total inspiration and a living walking miracle, lets hope others listen and take all this in, hopefully you have been able to save some lives, so good to see you looking so well, keep it up .

  • that girl is retarded

  • That doc is wrong. This guy looks so different now then he did in that doc.

  • OMG! to survive and still be walking and talking!

  • they shold put a gate through the whole bridge. with the gate stopping its like saying dont jump on the workers jump in the water. it makes no damn difference.

  • he seemed so fucked up in the bridge documentry. he seems alot better now

  • The interviewer did an alright job. She probably is just getting into broadcasting.

Nobody is perfect from the start. stop bashing her or she's gonna jump off the bridge.

  • I can't believe they filmed people killing themselves.

  • yeah i wonder how many jumped in 09,i I get sick of consulting with google.

  • 9:11 o.o 9/11
