  • I'm a 32 year old man and I cry like a child every time I see that scene.

  • Finding Nemo is considered Pixar's best film in the aspect of humor.

Screw that, I can't get through it without crying at least twice.

  • This honestly made my heart sink.

This movie is just..so embedded with love and discovering friendship, all whilst simply being an animated children's movie.

    So wonderful.

  • I saw this proably twice when i came out, i bought it last week and finally watched it, and remarkably still remembered most of the lines.

However, when i saw this scene, i totally forgot and it just blew me away, i was so shocked. One of the best scenes ever in all the films in the world, it is beautiful.

Plus i love Ellen, she is perfect, especially for this role.

  • I thought this was one of the saddest moments in Disney history, then i saw the end of Toy Story 3.....

  • ilove this for a monologue

  • really no one does it better then ellen. right when she says "I'm home" my heart just sinks :'(

  • The feeling I got when I realized that this scene perfectly describes my current relationship with someone very dear to me..

  • man~ I know it sounds bad, but I wish I could speak that eloquently during those moments when it matters the most~ all I can think of is that one song that has the lyrics "please don't go, don't goooooo"

  • NIAGARA FALLS ON MY FACE TT_TT

  • No. No, you can't... STOP. Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave... if you leave... I just, I remember things better with you. I do, look. P. Sherman, forty-two... forty-two... I remember it, I do. It's there, I know it is, because when I look at you, I can feel it. And-and I look at you, and I... and I'm home. Please... I don't want that to go away. I don't want to forget. (:

  • @ALEXiiMARiiE Thanks for typing it all up! That was very helpful of you! :)

  • No. No, you can't... STOP. Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave... if you leave... I just, I remember things better with you. I do, look. • Personally, Andrew Stanton (FN's creator) should've not worked so much on this part of Dory. I think it also hurts this character in the light of Finding Nemo.

  • My drama monologue (:

  • so.... i cry every time i watch this.

  • I knew Ellen's voice sounded familiar...damn I'm slow LOL

  • Awww Dory <3

  • Is that Ellen's voice?

  • @TallGal3 Yeah :)

  • This scene reminds me of a pair of twins I'm friends with. I admire them so much, and I love hanging out with them. Even though I doubt they feel the same for me, I still feel so happy when I'm with them, and my usual depression is mitigated greatly. It's like Dory said...when I look at them, I'm home...and I'm gonna be so sad when they graduate college this year and leave...

  • I'm doing this for play try out tommorow

  • Im doing this scene for Drama class tomorrow. :)

  • @TheKimBxx Omg. I'm actually using this scene for my drama class tomorrow xD

  • In this scene lies Pixar's genius. They're telling a funny adventure about talking fish, then a complete 90 degree turn, blindsiding you with its emotional impact.

  • sweet dory. such emotion in "..I'm home" ellen degeneres is SO good

  • "I look at you and...I'm home." I have to say, she bought tears to my eyes with that line. I thought Dory was just a funny, silly fish at first, but this scene made me realize just how scared she is of forgetting and she just wants to belong...

  • I can't listen to Dory and hear a fish, all I hear is a lesbian talkshow host

  • @GerardLuver777 Can't be unseen

  • i look at you and i am home....kaneis dn emeine maz m toso poli...

  • lol^

  • I did this as my final in drama

  • im doing this for an audition! :)

  • But I do.

  • awww, it's an honor, some of my friends wants to call my Dory now, because I remind them of Dory, lol

  • @loveyourwhiteshoes OMG apparently i resemble Dory and act like her as well haha. it's been my nickname for about 6 years now, and i got it on my graduating jersery XD

  • "Im Home" made me cry

  • "I look at you and I, I'm home." <3

Really need to watch this again!

  • awww my ellen -3

  • Wow! I didnt know Finding Nemo had a Monologue in it!?

If i knew, i wouldnt have done Alice in Wonderland, i would have done this. :O

  • Guh, I thought I could get through this without crying but I couldn't. :'( Too beautiful...

  • " please i dont want to forget" awwwwww <3

  • this is a sad childs movie, i mean jeez! i love this movie but i just realized after watching it last week how freakin sad it is lol love it though!! and im stealing this monologue for drama class haha

  • @TexFan26 omg! same here lol

  • Isn't Ellen an awesome actress?

    Thumbs up if you agree!

And so if I get no thumbs up that means you all must hate little funny talking fish that have short term memory!

  • i wanna do this monologue for drama so bad, but i dunno if it's long enough. so touching... :'(

  • @zutariangirl123 its not i tried so i did it for performance friday(a day where theater kids can sing dance or act)

  • @zutariangirl123 do it! its so good. ive never connected with a piece before as much as i did with this. trust me on this, if you connect with it well enough, no one will give the length a second thought.

  • Poor Dory... I really feel bad for her...

    Makes me cry T.T

    "..I'm home"

  • @narutoforever99 even when she says "when i look at you...im home..." makes me think that shes REALLY found a friend, like all the other fish just push her away but Merlin stayed with her the whole adventure...thats what i love about PIXAR they do so many amazing things with their characters. i hope it never ends

  • Call me weird, but I like this couple.

  • AWW;[

  • Dear Ellen,

    You. Can. Goddamn. Act.

    Love,

    Me

  • @simplystreeptacular you are goddam right dude:)happy new year!

  • I am doing this in drama class as a monologue.

  • @tiedyegirlvmkcff i was assigned this in year 9 drama XD

  • so sad...omg

  • such a sweet friendship!! or is it love??

  • such a sweet friendship!!!or is it love??

  • This scene blew me away

  • I did a monologue of this. I will post it in a sec.

  • fuck, story of my life.

  • I'm also doing this for drama class :)

    thxforthepost!!

  • @M3lloWcH1k Really? Your teacher's letting you? Our teacher wouldn't let us do monologues from animated movies. If we were allowed, I totally would've done the "Ants do not serve grasshoppers" monologue from "Bug's Life."

  • @Bitsy83 your teacher sounds like an ass. a true lover of the arts would be able to recognize a master piece in unexpected places. heck, thats where the best art is usually found!

  • @elleroxsox Well, she wasn't an ass, but she just felt that a live person quoting an animated character would be more like an impression than a performance. But now that animated films have their own category at the Oscars, I think people will see it as art and not just a money market scheme (at least, Pixar will).

  • @Bitsy83 i find it highly unlikely that you were being taught to copy the HUMAN performance of any given material so the risk of giving an "impression" of an ANIMATED performance should not be a concern. my personal belief is that words are words and what you do with them and how you manipulate them, in itself, is the art of acting. why would the words coming out of an animated speaking fish be any different then words from a person?

  • @elleroxsox Um, I didn't want to do the Dory monologue. I was talking about the "ants serving grasshoppers" monologue from "A Bug's Life." Look, I didn't agree with my teacher, but I was in no position to argue, so I just did as she told me. She just didn't advise animated films for an acting class. This happened like 9 years ago, so it's over and done with. La de da, tomorrow's another day.

  • @Bitsy83 just so you know, i wasnt fighting you. why cant 2 people have a debate without it being considered nasty? have a good one :D

  • I needed this for a monologue for drama also tyvm

  • Thanks for posting. This scene is sad.

  • thank you for posting : )

I need it for a monologue

  • same here. im going it for drama class.

  • same for me as well, this is such a great scene.

  • me tew [=

  • Oh this scene just breaks my heart. Especially when she says "I look at you and I'm....I'm home. Please....I don't want that to go away...I don't want to forget"

  • @DaysLjay "I'm home" Degeneres delivery of that line just hits me like a brick wall
