  • 1:17 DAMN Look at that giant car on the left!!! I'll bet it's got at least a 6L V8 and ~500 hp. LOL

  • Jake all the way!!!

  • Go Corvette!!! Great machinary that beats machines that costs 2~3 time more.

    I Root for Bowtie!

  • factory corvette = boss

  • 4 people own a Ferrari, Porsche, or BMW LMAO!!!

  • Hello Kelli

  • Corvette > mustang :)

  • @ProTuner06 corvette> everything else

  • @sicknastydwalk

    your comment remmind something......

    oohhh yes GT1 cars !

    Viper GTS-R > everything else

  • @jclafi um, they don't win much

  • @gtrdude777

    Lost memory ? I dont !

  • @jclafi huh?!?

  • @gtrdude777

    @gtrdude777

Does the word´s "Chrysler ORECA" and "Larbre" ring any bells to you? Late 90´s early 2000 huh? FIA GT1, Le Mans, Daytona, North American IMSA GT Championship, American Le Mans Series ans so on.... Lot's os Victory´s !

That amazing fight with the Listers V12 and F550´s in GT1 !!

I like Vettes but i prefer Vipers ! Wiki + oreca viper

  • @jclafi I like the C6R, but I enjoyed watching the Vipers race. More manufactures the better.

  • @aqinthe

Spot on ! More Manufactures the better ! = )

I also like the C6-R but i believe that the C5-R was much more sucessfull car!

I liked the C5-R much much much more than the C6-R.

But i love Vipers... Its personal nothing against the Vette i like them too! But a Viper make my day man !

  • @ProTuner06 Everybody knows that, it's more liek Corvette>Ford GT

  • God Bless Texas & Corvettes

    I own one too

  • @TexasNova One day hopefully I will own one too : (

  • Corvettes, buy U.S.A.

  • I was at Le mans 2010 and the Vette is the only car which made me shiver!

Pure sound !!! Love it so much

  • see my C6R at le mans:

    /watch?v=0poS9wNDIl0

  • The GT2 Corvettes are required by ALMS to run a very small air intake restrictor so they can't dominate the class. So it is a disadvantage for them to run the normal production car size big displacement 7.0 or 6.3 litre motors. Corvette Racing found in dyno testing they can make more peak horsepower by running a shorter stroke, smaller displacement 4.6 liter engine that revs higher. So that's why the Corvette team runs smaller displacement engines.

  • @QWK999R The C6R engines are 5.5 liters.

  • love it or hate it corvette is the best gt racing car of all time, period

  • @gtsgtsgt screw best car. a car is nothing. its the team and driver(s) that make the "car" stand out.

  • @XclassicXrokerX lmfao, it looks like you don't have any idea about motor-racing

  • @gtsgtsgt i would love to hear u explain that comment. in case u didnt know a car does poof out the air and become great its the team that constructs it, designs it, and tune it, then its the driver that takes the car to its potential. so please explain how the car is the best n not because of its driver n team. and while ur at it explain how that shows i know nothing about road racing.

  • @XclassicXrokerX fact red bull won the f1 championship because they had the best car, alonso and hamilton are better drivers then vettle, and both mclaren and ferrari's are better teams then red bull

  • @gtsgtsgt fact the car was designed and engineered by the team. it was the team that focused more on aero than others, creating the best design. mclaren had good drivers but i feel they went wrong by not having as much downforce. they were all about the straights. and i thought we were talking gt2 class n not f1 where every tenth makes a huge difference.

  • @gtsgtsgt fact the car was designed and engineered by the team. it was the team that focused more on aero than others, creating the best design. mclaren had good drivers but i feel they went wrong by not having as much downforce. they were all about the straights. and i thought we were talking gt2 class n not f1 where every tenth makes a huge difference. its also the team that make the car stand out by earning wins with pit stop strategy

  • @XclassicXrokerX arguing with you is pointless, lets face it, its winning races from all over the world, even non-ALMS races

  • @XclassicXrokerX Not totally true. A great team can make an average car better. And a bad team can hold back a good car. But you couldn't take the Corvette team or the BMW team in ALMS and put them in crappy cars and have the same result. Just like you couldn't give the BMW or C6R to a crappy team and have a great result. In F1 the car is 70% of the success.

  • CORVETTE RACING #1

  • I used to live in Dearborn/Detroit/MI and worked for Ford in R&D.I´m German and of course my Hobby is to ride the Nuerburgring:) I have to admit though that the Guys at GM got that Vette right and that Americans really know how to celebrate Motorsport as well as get the TV-format right.Keep it up!

  • What about Ford GT race car ?

  • why doesnt ford race? i mean i dont really care because id rather have corvette represent the US but im just curious.

  • @aszilagyi4292 actually if you look behind the BMW and in front of the corvette that has the blue stripe on top you can see a Ford GT,now im not 100% sure if they run full time but they did run this race :)

  • @aszilagyi4292 Ford has a big investment in racing... The ALMS has major restrictions, and the FORD GT is no longer in production. However for 2011 the Robertson racing team will be running 2 FORD GT's. It is possible if Saleen ever gets their act together they will compete again. Also you should know that Lamborghini is bringing 2 Gallardo GT2's to ALMS, also PANOZ Abruzzi uses a FORD engine. Panoz to have 2 cars as well, so Ford will be represented well.

  • @aszilagyi4292 There was a Ford GT in there. They race a Mustang or two also.

  • dam those vettes sound mean

  • At 1:20, that's the fastest that Porsche on the left had moved all day!!! :D

  • nobody could beat the Corvettes in GT1 so they all left... fuck I liked GT1 better! bring back the Aston GT1 !! they atleast kept up!

  • @ninjafatballz I think you'll find they did more than just keep up ;D

  • @SeigeCJ haha I know that I was just being arrogant.. but Aston couldve put up competition but quit wtf...

  • @99999999999999999931 no thats not true., Nascar engines can be no larger than 358 c.i and they must be carbed.

  • Corvette is a beast, I hope I can buy one pretty soon. Hey why doesn't lamborghini and dodge viper have a car on this class?? Or the ford gt?

  • @ZR1Terror i think there is a ford gt

  • @Airsoftking02 but it's probably not as fast as the Porsche and the Vette right

  • @ZR1Terror no i dont think so

  • @ZR1Terror There is a Ford Gt in GT2 class. I don't know why there are no Lambos or Vipers. They used to race in GT1 and, or GT2. Maybe the economy.

  • @aqinthe I would be nice to see an ACR Viper and a Murcielago SV competing with the Vettes!!

  • @ZR1Terror I am glad they went to GT2 I got tired of watching the two corvettes just race each other when every one else left GT1.

  • @aqinthe is GT1 faster than GT2

  • @ZR1Terror Yes. The GT1 class no longer exist ( 2009 was the last year for GT1) but when it did it was. The GT1 Corvettes had about 640 hp and now in GT2 form they have 480hp. The GT1 car also had better brakes, I think it was a little wider and had a few other differences.

  • @aqinthe GT1 still exists.. just not in ALMS, I think its the last year in LMS.. not sure. However. the FIA GT1 series is the new GT1 series. Should be coming to Canada and the US next year. Part of a Global International race. Also I believe Japan has the Super GT with GT500 and GT300 =HP rating. In 2010 The GT500 will be more like DTM racing however.

  • @JuergenGDB My bad. I was just refering to ALMS. Yes it was in the 24 hours of Le mans this year. I would love to see FIA GT1 in the US. I watch a little DTM but in the states it is on TV in the middle of the night.

  • @aqinthe True that.. if SPEED ever read their own forums they would get the idea that NASCAR no matter how great of an American sport it is.. needs its own channel because GT racing, weather European, Japanese, is where its at. As far as Japanese Im just refereing to the Super GT series, but they also have something similar to our SCCA. Anyways Nascar needs its own channel, so that it would open the door for a true race channel.

  • @JuergenGDB I maybe watch 2 NASCAR races a year and those are road courses. I usually watch ALMS, Austrialian V8 supercars, DTM, Rolex series and some F1. I live close to Laguna Seca and go see alot of the races there. Is the Japanese Super GT on speed channel? I have never seen it. But would love to check it out. NASCAR on a oval is like watching paint dry.

  • @aqinthe No US Cable network that I know of covers the Japanese Super GTor any of the Asian GT races. I believe their series takes them from China, Taiwain, Thailand, etc. Not sure why some its not covered on any networks but in Asia I think. You can watch them on Youtube.

  • @aqinthe Its the same thing here in the States. Nascar controls SPEED, so its full of Bullshit shows, NASCAR re-runs and hours and hours of Barett Jackson auction.. its the lamest TV channel... The only thing keeping it with members is its Nascar, Truck and dirt series. We need like a ALMS, LMS, DTM, BTCC, Australian V8, WRC, Japanese Super GT, and other races 24hr Spa, 24 hr, Nordslieff, Basically a real race channel. Worldwide network.

  • @JuergenGDB I totally agree most people that follow NASCAR usually don't watch other racing series. I will check out the Super GT on YouTube. I would love to see less of the dumb reality shows and the other crap they are now showing on Speed and more of the racing that you mentioned. Maybe someday.

  • @aqinthe I saw on you're profile you are in the Audi club. I just saw my aunt in Southern California and got to drive her 2003 RS6 It was awsome.

  • @aqinthe Thats a bad ass car RS6. Yeah if Speed ever takes notices of its forum and creates a World Spedd channel, it would be better for everyone.. Right now I have to settle for watching parts and pieces either on youtube, or I get to at least watch FIA GT1 on my computer in HD.

  • @JuergenGDB It was her husbands and she kept it after he died. I love driving it. My wife gets pissed because I don't let her drive it when we go down to visit. I will check out the online feed of FIA GT1 as that is another great series that I can't believe they don't show stateside.

  • @aqinthe Sorry to hear about her husband... The RS6 is one of the most masculine cars I know.. it just looks mean especially from the front. Champion Audi had some success with them. Yeah definetly look up FIA GT1 world championship.. its great in full screen on most monitors.. larger the better.. LOL

  • @JuergenGDB Thanks. A lot of people don't pay much attention to the car because it doesn't look that wild but the people that know what it is really do. I guess you can watch the FIA GT1 race feed from their web site. I will check it out for sure.

  • @JuergenGDB We've all got to write letters/emails to SPEED and demand they start showing more races from around the world. At least SPEED shows F1 racing, ALMS and 24 hr. le mans. though, but I would like to see way more. I do not like watching NASCAR.

  • @Northax True that, but this year the ALMS is not on SPEED... they took it off, you can watch it on ESPN2 or ESPN3 which is on your computer... I dont think its on SPEED this year.

  • @JuergenGDB what happened to the aston db9R? i loved that vette vs aston showdown.

  • @kenshitheone Its back in ALMS, only one car I beleive this season but some of the engineering I beleive has been done by ProDrive. Anyways I believe there are about 3-4 teams running in LMS series Europe. Check out GT2 European cup online.

  • @kenshitheone I think there has been a shift in power.. LOL Pro-drive has other commitments, and I think alot of the assests are going towards GT1 and the new 2012 6.0 V12 GT3 car for Europe. Unfortunate, but unless the one (I beleive only 1) Aston Martin GT2 team can get some more help... there days may be numbered. The New 911 GT2 RSR, Scuderia 458, are going to be tough. The lamborghini's are great cars, and I think are from the European GT3 series, now more modified to GT2 spec.

  • @JuergenGDB They need to make 2 Speed channels, one for Nascar and all the car shows and another speed channel for ALMS, F1, Gt2, ect.

  • @aqinthe True that. I and a few hundred people went to SPEED Channel and complained.... but since SPEED is owned by NASCAR they basically said whatever!!! Im glad to see at least they are showing Australian V8, and Moto GP, however we will not see any european GT1, GT, or the DTM. We will not see the 24 hours of SPA, and Nordschliffe either... HUGE BUMMER!!!!!!

  • @aqinthe wow that sucks

  • @ZR1Terror What thing were you refering to?

  • @aqinthe that GT1 doesn't exist

  • @ZR1Terror Oh, I was way off base. At least the C6R Compuware team sitll exist. Their was a GT1 class at the 24 hours of Le Mans but not in ALMS and I think this was the last year of that class at Le Mans. Product of the economy I guess.

  • @ZR1Terror If you where refering to my aunts husband, yes he was a pretty nice guy. She is pretty cool also. I'm glad my aunt kept the RS6 though. She sold a few of his other cars after he died. A lot of people think she means S6 but it is a RS6. When ever I go visit, driving it is one of my highlights.

  • that vette sounds unbelievable! no car at gt2 can compare to the absolute monstrous roar of the vette, i love it.

  • vettes are real sportscars! somthing that american car industry has to be proud about.

  • i know the 2 people who were interviewing in the beginning

  • AHHH NO! everybody ran to gt2 to escape the corvettes...lol

  • @BanditoRico4

if anyone actually did that, they did it to escape a works team..

works teams are really annoying if they are running against all privateers

  • @BanditoRico4 and the corvette went after them...lol

  • @BanditoRico4 and oh look! Corvette came after them! :D Oh, you wanna downsize? Yeah...we can do that. >:)

  • shut up faggots u both live at home with your parents

  • If you are replying to my tire comment, you lost me in the tread there, Beavis. Would you put Michelin Pilot sports on your DD Vette 'just because..?" Chill out dude. Youre reading WAY TOO MUCH into my comment. I follow the Jake Pratt Miller Katech club right down into the Liner-less, Nicom-coated 4.205-inch bores.... Geez! I just racked up 150K on my third Vette. People....

  • I was at this race last year. Good times. Talked to Doug for a while about the C6R and it's comparison to the ZR1 they had in the paddock. Quite amazing to hear of how similar the GT2 car is to the production car. I'm still not a big fan of the ZR1 and like the NA of the Z06 more, but it's still quite incredible nonetheless.

  • If we can create a 200 mph nascar out of a 5.4 engine im sure we can make a badass road course car

  • @909Monopoly they only run 200 because they are restricted! Bill Elliot said if his car wasnt restricted he could run 240+

  • Damn that car's sick... i still have the entire ALMS race recorded on my DVR. That was a crazy race!

  • C6R is going to be hard to beat.

  • lol

let's see how he behaves against the DBR9

  • correct me if im wrong, but isnt that BMW in NFS Shift??

  • man if i ever became a race car driver i my choice would be to drive for corvette racing because corvette racing is #1 in my vote

  • Thank you!

  • Great interviews, good to see the C6.R carrying on the success.

  • C6R is going to dominate ALMS GT2 in 2010!!

  • and 2011, and 2012, and 2013.....

  • did they mention again how the car wins because of its Michelin Pilot sports? Maybe it was the last vid

  • Usually engine durability is related to high revving and high compression ratio. Both of those are low in a bigger displacement engine compared to the small displacement engines. That analogy assumes that the comparison is done on identical engines because of course some manufacturers could be using exotic materials, more precise manufacturing processes, invest more money on R&D etc.

  • That doesn't make sense. The GT2 car has steel rotors, but the street car has carbon rotors?

  • It's by regulation, in zGT2 class they are not allowed to have carbon rotors.

  • and the ZR1 has more power too.

  • Yeah, it would be obvious to have Carbon rotors on a race car, but It's the GT2 regulations. Slightly more restricted than the GT1 regulations were

  • Nice video! That was great when the vette moved up to GT2 class. Very cool.

  • I got to get speed TV. espn suck at show this stuff.

  • Badboyvettes FTW

  • I love my Z and I love Corvette racing but all the sales oriented propaganda seems like totally calculated bullshit. The Corvette is what it is. I guess Fehan and O'Connell were told what they had to say in order to keep racing. I wonder if they rehearsed their lines like actors do?

  • Comment removed

  • @ 123jozef Thats total nonesense,im not a huge fan of american cars myself as my name suggests but i want to tell u even if O'Connell did not say a word everyone who follows ALMS would have known that once again Corvette Racing have developed a fast car.The history of corvette racing in the GT category since the C5R is EPIC.Racing is the best way to market your sports car

  • ' as usual Ferraris would blow their engines '

Seems Ferrari won just a few GT championship or 24h de lemans in GT2 class in last five years .... No bad for blowing engine car

  • The huge rumble noise of the C6.R is lovely mixed in with Porsches and TDIs.

  • They weren't cheating, they were allowed by ALMS to use Direct Injection for this season, and it will be available to all teams. Porsche and Ferrari just didn't like it (because they lost to the C6R) so ALMS asked them to remove it for the rest of the season. They'll get it back next year, and then they'll probably be neutered again by ALMS. They just don't like the Corvettes dominating, so they hold them back...

  • @mandevt Well said. Now Ferrari and Porsche actually have to make an effort in winning... And they dont like that. If somebody wins they just push them into the walls...

  • @mandevt to add to your comment: GM was testing the next generation production LSx heads featuring direct injection on the GT2 Corvette. The same thing was done for the LS7 with the CTSV world challenge program. Albeit at reduced displacement. It's believed the next Corvette production car will use a 5.5l DI engine producing approx 450hp.

  • @CheatinChad yeah i heard that is was goin to be around 5.5l as well but i didnt know it might be a DI engine

  • @mandevt Yes. The whiners hate seeing [the American] Corvettes embarrassing them so much on the track (and street). :-)

  • It'll be interesting to see Corvette fares next year, sure they're running a 6 liter in the GT2 now...but they'll have to run a 5.5 liter engine starting at Sebring due to the 2010 ACO regulations

  • yeah, right now they're running the 7L with a different crank bringing displacement down to 6L. I think they can only get faster with next years rules, seeing as they've confirmed that the new engine will be bespoke.

  • THE SL2 ENGINE ranges from 5.5L to 7.0L Using an engine design for 7.0L runing at 5.5L is actually a disadvanate for corvette bc of extra weight.

  • Yes, but with a 5.5L displacement it gets less affected by the air restrictors compared to the smaller displacement engines of the Ferrari and Porsche.

  • Why do you refer to Porsche and Ferrari ? Private teams running ALMS have no relationship with carmakers instead Corvette racing that is a factory team (can introduce DFI instead of other team that refers to technical package sold by carmakers at the beginning of the year). In FIA GT1 class there is no Corvette domination. Factory team are not allowed .

  • Nuts to see them racing a vette that has less power than the production model.

  • Yeah.. but, that's GT2 regulations.. Besides it weighs far less, but.. Even the GT1 had less power then the production ZR1. But only 85 hp more than the Z06 with 505

  • well power isnt everything. this car has far better suspension, tires, and its a feather compared to the street version

  • corvette add on to gt2 makes series relevant again

  • They look awesome, sound good and perform excellently.

But I bet that Johnny O secretly wishes he was sill driving the big bastard GT1 :D

  • I watched the full race yesterday...this was an excellent 10 minute edit of it...Vettes had no competition in GT1. GT2 is a more real world class for them. At their current 470 hp rating, you can now buy a more powerful Vette at your local Chevy dealership. Maybe this series should be called "stock cars", there is nothing stock about NASCAR. Note that the while the Vettes are running on E-85 racing fuel, the Porches are using E-10 R.

  • They've got 470 HP?

  • very nice car and i cant wait until i see it win a race. an awesome sound and an awesome car.

  • Sounds great and a great result for a debut race!

  • What size engines are they running? It sounds exactly like the GT1's 7 Litre...

  • Same engine, different crank. Making it 6.0L

  • Ah okay. That explains the same sound then :) - Thanks :) GT2 regulations make it what.. 500 hp?

  • great debut! go get em jake!

  • That is one of the best cars ever.

  • its raced twice lol lets wait and see how it does before we declare it as one of the "best cars ever"

  • 2nd and 4th in the opening race! I can already smell dominance! Good luck boys I'm sure you will continue the great pedigree of Chevy and Corvette Racing.

  • I heard the C6.R and I jizzed in my pants

  • lol well said

  • something I noticed, anybody who says "jizzed" "cummed" or anything like that about the sound of a car, always gets thumbs up, just an observation...

  • I nutted.

  • Awesome debut, boys!

    Take no prisoners, bitches.

  • no it isnt .. like they said.. not even running a full season, test bed, they were running comfortable in second with a car that hadnt been on the track.. match the spec of a ....wait.. you said c5 are you just talking a standard c5 vs c6??? im talking the GT2 GT1. ..oh well.. anyway, once they dial the vette in its will dominate again like before... sick car.. great post

  • if the alms is smart they won't let it dominate and kill a great class like it did to GT1

  • The global crisis killed GT1.. Which is why the GT2 class grew since that's mainly privateers which means lower costs team wise AND modification wise to the cars.. Competition can't kill a class if so it's sore losers. May I remind you, the GT1 Corvette HAD greater restrictions en em than the AM. In the end it was all down to engineering and endurance

  • GT1 was dead in 2006

  • But yet GT1s raced Le Mans 2007, 2008 and 2009... Also ALMS

  • Let me say it again, its been dead for awhile now. 2006 it was a 4 car race in alms and at le mans. 2007 through 2008 it was a four car race at le mans and two cars in the alms. 2009 it has gone away from the alms and was a 2 car race at le mans.

  • the C5 was better, honestly
