I know that the first voice was Keith David but does anyone know who the others are? I tried Googleing it and stuff but to be honest I don't really know where to look. They all sounded so familiar so its just kind of bugging me that I don't know who they are.
Hey there, quick question; is is possible to play like 2 real friends in same team versus 2 AI:s in both different teams (or in same)? And if so, can you trade, discuss, negotiate, sign treaties and all the thing you can do in singleplayer WITH your real FRIEND in-game? And the other scenario, if me and my friennd where on diffrent team, is all the things above still possible?
Would really appreciate an answer from whoever know, thanks ;)
@4evrgreat Do you mean framerate issues or does it just not play? If its framerate try toning the graphics or map sizes down and clear space on your pc (it helped me) and if it doesnt play all together I'd check wheter your computer has the correct graphics card or space on its hard-drive, if it does have the required space, check the disk It might be scratched or cracked...hope this helped! :D (And if someone already answered this I will look like adumb ass)

Compared to the rest of the Civ franchise it is a completely foreign game. Octagonal spaces, no unit stacking, you actually need to have a city doing research rather than building up 10,000 knights to roll over your neighbor's door, and barbarian ships become 10 times more annoying because Galleys can bombard you.

Sword and shield ranges from bronze age to high medieval era and those weapons were replaced by matchlock muskets and pistols not just for fun, with swords you have to close in, stare in the bastards eyes and stick your metal but a musket give you range you could blast him from an effective range of 40 meters. And SMGs are far more advanced that a matchlock firearm at least 20 rounds in a clip and 5 rounds a second, not to mention tanks and superior tactical training
@alexarw1 probably something for an expansionpack, i am hoping for the polynisian civilisation or vietnamese civ, i demand ho chi minh. we can hope right?
@glamedrehl the vietnamese and Dutch can be downloaded by mods option in the game(i thought polynisian too).. but thats without annimation from the leader..there is a expansion pack that will come soon then you can play with Spain and the incas + a new scenario..i already bought these nations for 5,- euro on steam. but i think a expansion pack must have at least 5 or more new nations too play with..right now its not worth its money.

I think the addition of hexes was the biggest (and best) new addition but otherwise I think they focused more on graphics. And I think if Civ cant run on an average laptop thats a shame since its such a good game on trips.......or ANYTIME!

@Mofluffy i admit, they couldve spent more time fixing some minor details, cuz i crash sometimes too. try lowering your settings, especially the fog, shadow and water textures...if that doesnt work, try deleting some save files. i know it sucks, but its worth the few hours of you playing it. im not saying its the BEST game out there...but i am saying its worth your time.
@Shore1985 To some degree. It's a wonderful refresher from the old Civiliazations, and it's great for beginners, but in comparison to Civ 4, it's not as detailed and the UI can get a little annoying, but besides all that it's like a clean slate. I'd recommend it.

LOL where was this when I saw the gameplay in Civ 5?! I was like HELL YEAHZ i'm gonna get this game just to be a Viking civilization or Japense civ, then I saw the gameplay and was like... WTF?! where is the RTS in this so called RTS? All I saw was a bunch of armies on hexes that act as a Auto Attack feature like in Total War.. I have won battles in Total War where my army sustained almost no causalities because of the terrain and the tactics I deployed. Im preordering Shogun 2 its out 15/03/11
If you are experiencing slow and choppy gameplay, you need to overclock your graphics card! Just tweak a few simple settings, and get a huge difference in the performance of your computer games!
Besides the sucky game play, this game is LOADED with DRM. You have to install steam with this game which means that you can't play it if you are not connected to the internet at all time, so forget about playing this game during a flight. Its also very difficult to sell the game, because the game is linked to your steam account that you have to set up. Also, a bunch of civilizations are missing from the game that you have to buy extra online for about $10 bucks each. Save your money folks.
@lordoftheflings You can play offline, you only need to let Steam connect to the internet once during install, or if you want achievements reported. Hardly "loaded"
One of the best trailers ever made for a video game. This game is a true masterpiece from end to end. I praise Firafix for making one of the greatest games in vidoe game history.

Let me tell you about this game it is sooooooo boring. It is turn based making it slow and there are no action scenes really and inaccurate history George Washington was not president of a country that didnt exist in 4000 BC
Played civ4 for years now, couldn't wait to get my hands on Civ5. Played Civ5 for about 2 weeks before dropping it and going back to Civ4. This game was a huge disappointment, looks like Firaxes games adopted the WotLK easy mode strategy. All in all this game has a lot less mechanics and things to do compared to its predecessor.
Seeing as how flawed the Civ 5 gameplay mechanics where in comparison with Civ 4 (hexes and removal of stacks aside), it has me convinced that Sid Meier has planned to fix these with expansions. He has literally made it easier to churn out expansions to make more money out of for less effort.
Civ 5 was a disappointment, and the flawed diplomacy alone made me wish I was playing Civ 4 which was leagues more advanced.
@KimKhan I actually found the hexes and removal of stacks refreshing for the series. My largest complaint was definitely the terrible diplomacy system. "You just got denounced!" and then follows every other civ that wants to denounce you.

I love this game. First I bought it for 200$ off the pocket: I saw it had Steam - my fear was aroused.
So I install the game. Takes 2 hours. Meh, it's a big game, I thought. Completely worth it.
It installs Steam. Oh shit, I tell myself. Like Empire Total War taught me nothing.
I try to run the game. 'Steam servers are unavailable', it tells me. Rage quit.
One week later, my PC is dead and then resurrected. Steam doesn't accept my product code no more.

@Shore1985 To some degree. It's a wonderful refresher from the old Civiliazations, and it's great for beginners, but in comparison to Civ 4, it's not as detailed and the UI can get a little annoying, but besides all that it's like a clean slate. I'd recommend it.

Here in Austria it costs about 30€ thats 40$ so its not very expensive so i can give it a chance

LOL where was this when I saw the gameplay in Civ 5?! I was like HELL YEAHZ i'm gonna get this game just to be a Viking civilization or Japense civ, then I saw the gameplay and was like... WTF?! where is the RTS in this so called RTS? All I saw was a bunch of armies on hexes that act as a Auto Attack feature like in Total War.. I have won battles in Total War where my army sustained almost no causalities because of the terrain and the tactics I deployed. Im preordering Shogun 2 its out 15/03/11

Besides the sucky game play, this game is LOADED with DRM. You have to install steam with this game which means that you can't play it if you are not connected to the internet at all time, so forget about playing this game during a flight. Its also very difficult to sell the game, because the game is linked to your steam account that you have to set up. Also, a bunch of civilizations are missing from the game that you have to buy extra online for about $10 bucks each. Save your money folks.

@lordoftheflings You can play offline, you only need to let Steam connect to the internet once during install, or if you want achievements reported. Hardly "loaded"

@DarkSkay i love Company of Heroes and the Total War games which are definitely in depth and long RTS games...im just pissed because these games claim to be an RTS when its only a sim game, its retarded to advertise epic battles on the box when you cant play any, or even see any in the game, thats just false advertising, and for you other people calling me 9 and not understanding the games...you're not understanding that its NOT an RTS so it should NOT be called one!

Played civ4 for years now, couldn't wait to get my hands on Civ5. Played Civ5 for about 2 weeks before dropping it and going back to Civ4. This game was a huge disappointment, looks like Firaxes games adopted the WotLK easy mode strategy. All in all this game has a lot less mechanics and things to do compared to its predecessor.

Seeing as how flawed the Civ 5 gameplay mechanics where in comparison with Civ 4 (hexes and removal of stacks aside), it has me convinced that Sid Meier has planned to fix these with expansions. He has literally made it easier to churn out expansions to make more money out of for less effort.
Civ 5 was a disappointment, and the flawed diplomacy alone made me wish I was playing Civ 4 which was leagues more advanced.

@KimKhan I actually found the hexes and removal of stacks refreshing for the series. My largest complaint was definitely the terrible diplomacy system. "You just got denounced!" and then follows every other civ that wants to denounce you.
