Listen, I've dealt with a lot of personal questions regarding the involvement of some of my fellow Church members in Prop 8. Personally I oppose it. In my mind, there ought to be a very deep divide between Church and State, and I'm not the only one. I can think of dozens of "famous" mormons who oppose it, including Harry Reid and Steve Young. Listen, I've dealt with a lot of personal questions regarding the involvement of some of my fellow Church members in Prop 8. Personally I oppose it. In my mind, there ought to be a very deep divide between Church and State, and I'm not the only one. I can think of dozens of "famous" mormons who oppose it, including Harry Reid and Steve Young. That's why I'm really mad when I see videos like this which seemingly paint the entire Church with a single stroke. It's stereotypes creating stereotypes.

What alot of you fail to understand is that the church does not force members to do anything and they urge members to act according to their own conscience on social issues. The church took their position and some members followed suit. You should be upset at voters in Cali not at the LDS church. It was in their hands to vote down prop 8 and failed to do so. I do not really care one way or the other. I did not even hear about anything regarding the proposition in my church that I attend weekly.

like i said its all what you claim to know but what proof do you have that these things you talk of even happened show me. look you may be right but from what i know is that our church doesnt deal in politics ok but if you as a member of society being mormon or not wants to vote its there right to do so and to claim top leaders sent out a letter to every member to participate is wrong the only top leaders that can tell our church members to do such a thing would be the church president

Do a Google search to find out more. Looks like you live in Australia, so obviously no such letter would have been read in YOUR church. When and if such initiatives come up in your part of the world, you may indeed see such things occurring. BTW, none of the news accounts said anything about letters being sent out to individuals. The letter was read in the churches.

As christians, we should not fight others! This is not what God intends for any christian to do but to live by examples instead of fighting over issues like this one! This is stupid and ridiculous for members of any church to fight like kids!! God will judge each individual by what they do not us! We are just as bad as gays and lesbians! none of us is perfect and to be honest, Non church goers are the sweetest and loving people ever!

dude you talk like christians are perfect its people like you who make gays and and every 1 else who arent christiian think to hell with religion and church because its 2 hard 2 live that way when its a good thing to be christian but we are not perfect nor should you pretend 2 be aslong as people try there best thats all that matters so you stop judging what people do and that goes for christians aswell
