  • Awesome looking pipes. The grain on the first one is outstanding and blasting on the second one is first rate

    wolfeman

  • @greenfairypipe Thanks man! I'm really pleased with these two Tsuge's. Really good smokers and compact and light for going out and about.

    Cheers,

    J.

  • Hello James,

your Tsuge pipes are beautiful. And I like these bamboo applications, too. Unfortunately I still don't have one... And these "fat boys" are really good pipes for me as well. ;)

    Cheers

    Lars

  • @larshermanns Thank you for the nice words Lars! The bamboo is very light and strong. You'll get one

eventually I'm sure lol Make sure if you get the fatboy's you get a good price. I've seen them very quite a bit.

Though a production made pipe, they are a good quality pipe!

  • I like your new addition to the herd!! I just got myself a Tsuge Yamato pipe. Got it on ebay from a guy in Australia, charged me $20.00 shipping and it took 3 weeks to get here. I like the pipe though!

  • @RevJoeyG Thanks Joe! Looking forward to seeing your Yamamoto! Yeah, waiting for a

pipe that long ain't fun but it got there! lol Thanks again,

    Sweet smoke!

  • nices pipes james. going to check them out.

  • @buckeyepipesmoker Thanks Dave! Only smoked the black blasted one and its a great smoker!

    Cheers.

    Mark

  • @Balkovecpipes Thanks for the nice words Mark! Only smoked the black blasted one so far and its a great smoker. Wondering if you've worked with any bamboo yet? Or even interested. Not for every body, but I think it would be fantastic to work with.

  • Great looking new pipes, James....you lucky dog you...lol. ;)

    ~D

  • @Naturainfinity Thank you for watching and the nice comment!

    Hope your well!

    James

  • lol man James for a second it Looked like you where looking at a pair of nice tits from the expression on your face, admiring those two pipes man. :-) ha ha oh man they are nice suhn. Thanks for sharing them.

    Salam

  • @OneManSmoke LMAO! Man, Its nearly almost as nice as appreciating a good rack! lol

    Thanks for watching Salam!

Pipe smokers gonna rule the world mang!

    J.

  • @OldNorthernSmoky I thought about that and have never had any problems. Lots of famous high end pipe makers use bamboo pretty frequently in their pipes and it really doesn't even make them any cheaper price wise.

Hope those rabbits are happy! Its the year of the rabbit for this Chinese New Year.

    Cheers,

    James

  • Nice pipes. I am partial to the contrasting shank styles like bamboo and bone. Great pipes.

  • @Caliulster Thanks for the comments! Yes I agree, I think its nice to have a pipe or two with some contrast in the collection. I'll have to get one with horn sometime down the road.

    Cheers,

  • Very nice pipes. I especially like the stained finish one. I'm going to check out their website. Thanks for sharing.

    Ron

  • @EastEndPipes Thanks for the comments Ron! They have a great website! I like to window shop there and look at some really great pipes by some of the best makers out there. No bad experiences shopping there for me either.

    Cheers,

    James

  • Take care James so you don´t start to talk japanes.

    See you.

    Olle

  • @snuggan1 Hahaha, Thats great Olle!, Speaking Thai has already done my head in! I don't need another language.

    Thanks for watching sir!

    Sweet smoke,

    J.

  • Top stuff mate, ya got the pronunciation of Tsuge spot on! Man you would think I would have a Japanese Bamboo Shank pipe with my username - I think I will have to remedy this SOON!!! I think you have inspired me to look further into this.

Also - Don't try and justify the Bordeaux - we know you like Grandma's undie drawer LOL

  • @Yonjuro68 You would think so Samurai man! LOL Lots of great makers use bamboo form time to time.

From what I see the German's (and obviously Japanese) seem to have a good eye for it. (Cornelius Mänz comes to mind but pricey!) LIke the way the keep the rhythm of the knuckles into the briar. English makers don't seem to get that. These ran me about the same as mid ranged Peterson

Yes, Jase I'm a sick bastard! Al the wasted money on therapy and I could have some really nice pipes! LOL

    Cheers,

  • @astroman2112 LOL, I've been looking for a Smio Satou for a little while and have seen some awesome Tokutomi but just haven't seen the right one. For me personally a bamboo shank is best on an Asian pipe. I do love C Manz's pipes but not his bamboo. My Japanese teacher in martial arts name is Otake (oh-tah-kee =big bamboo) My dojo motto is based on the Zen philosophy of the Tiger in a bamboo grove. Having said all that - yep your are a sick bastard, its good to know another member!

    Cheers

    Jase

  • @Yonjuro68 LOL, Man, I truly miss being in martial arts. (Sad to step a way from the dojo for sure) It not only taught me self defense but about the nuances in life, respect, and discipline and on and on. I still cary much of that philosophy with me today and can still remember one full kata. I studied a school of Hung Gar Kung fu and had a great teacher. Hey, I did recently pick up a lovely Takeo Arita pipe, my first Japanese hight grade. No bamboo, just the longest shank of briar, amazing!

  • Nice pipes.

  • @MrSmokeGuy Thanks for the comment!

    Cheers,

    J.

  • Nice score man. I've always thought about getting a bamboo stem guy.

    Take care,

    Jay

  • @dighsx Yeah, I love them! The weight is much lighter too, so good for clenching long periods as I do sitting at the ol computer. Bamboo is just cool anyways lol

    Cheers,

    J.

  • Nice nosewarmers! They're beauties! I like how they carved the stem to fit the dynamics of the bamboo. Think they will be better than the MG's...? :)

  • @pipeheadOR Thanks man! Yes, I've always loved how a great maker will match the stem to the natural groove in the bamboo, Its seamless with these pipes and definitely takes some time and skill.

Oh man, these are much better than MG's LMAO!

    Thanks for watching Gilbert.

  • James, let me tell you exactly what I said as you were unveiling the pipes in the camera: WOW. My fav is the sanblasted, I have a thing for that or rusticated ones.

    Congrats man!

    Cheers,

    Harvey

  • @hjrosasq Harvey, thanks for watching my man! I've only smoked the black blasted one so far with Sillem's Black. It smokes great in this pipe! Looking forward to seeing your Peterson.

  • oh man i usually hate the bamboo accents. Those are awesome! WOW~

  • @thepypehype Yeah man, when they're done right they look really damn good!

Light too. Thanks for the comment Ry

    Cheers,

  • Those are nice pipes, love the bamboo knuckle. A right pair of chunkers! The Bordeaux is damn good too. Have to check out the Al Pascia.

  • @herrflick99 LOL, "A right pair of chunkers" they are mate! lol, Only smoked the balck blasted one so far and smoking Sillem's Back, its a great pairing. I love the Bordeaux, some here on YTube say its a bit like grandmothers nicker drawer, I must be a sick bastard then because I absolutely love the stuff! lol

Thanks for watching and the nice comments mate,

    Cheers,

  • Great pipes James...!

    Also, nice editing.

    Enjoy!

    Cheers

    Don Carlos

  • @TheMatrixPipe Thanks for watching Don Carlos! I hate editing only in that it takes so much time to do it right!

I do really like to take time to edit but just not enough with family and job. Oh and keeping up on YTube!

Your vids are alway's spectacular! Thats' real editing! Your pipes and vid's are always inspiring to watch.

    Cheers,

    James

  • When I watch your vids, I almost break out in a sweat. I feel like I'm sitting in a tropical jungle. Are you outside there? Looks like a wonderful environment..

    - Alan

  • @KyDugong Thanks for watching Alan! LOL yeah this is my back patio! It does get pretty damn hot here, I usually have to have the fan on when I do vid's back there. I do love it here for many reason's but Plants and trees are definitely one of them. Take care,

  • @TheTobaccoburner Hey T-Burner! Glad to have you back on the scene here! Yeah I did the bamboo too when it looks right it really looks good. The asians definitely have a knack for it. Germans as well oddly enough too.

    Cheers,

    James

  • I love the Al Pascia site. I can sit there and browse for hours. Not crazy about bamboo extensions though. But hey, that's just me! :) Enjoy the crap out of those bad boys!

    Thanks for sharing!

    - Mike

  • @Flieger671 Al Pascia is great! Love to window shop there. I've alway's loved bamboo! As a photographer I've always' loved photographing it, and even with furniture or what ever it can be used for around the house its just so light, strong and elegant, Smoking some Sillem's Black in that black blasted one...good stuff!

Thanks for watching Tim! Still looking out to see what pipes come out of Northern Sweden!

    Cheers,

    James

  • Those Tsuges are some nice pipes. It is actually a brand on my short list of future pipes. Let us know how they smoke.

  • @drumspipes Thank you for your nice words! I have only smoked the black blasted one and it smokes really well. I'm smoking Sillem's Black in it and they pair up nicely.

    Thanks for watching,

    James

  • I like the alpascia website - I'm in the market for a couple of new ones and not having much luck on ebay! Cheers for the heads up!

    James

  • @jataylor888 Ebay is a big tossup for sure. I always get sniped at the last minute, after waiting up till 4am in the morning and never win the pipe I've got my eye set on. lol I like the "buy in now" if its available and the price is fair or negotiated to where we both like it. Be curious to here what your in the market for.

    Cheers,

  • Damn, James! Now I really want a bamboo in my collection!

  • @Pipepoet Hey Arko Stanwell makes some fantastic looking pipes with bamboo, I'm looking for a slightly bent with black bamboo and the bowl is blasted and a deep brown color. Beautiful! Al Pascia's website has some similar but just more like a billiard. Thanks for watching my man,

    Cheers,

    James
